How Long Does Methadone Stay In Your System? (Page 9)

Is Methadone completely out of your system in 72 hours, or does it take longer? Since Methadone seems to last longer that 4 - 6 hours, I was just wondering?

I'm on 77mils on methadone. I've been on that amount since June 2013. I have 5 carries and I don't take them. I pour then in a jug. Give back the emptys. But I still for now have to take 2does infront of them. 2doeses of 77. I'm afraid
I'm gonna drop. I've been doing this for about 2 almost 3weeks now. Haven't dropped yet. I just want off this drug replacing another drug. My legs hurt abit but almost 3weeks shouldn't it be going away soon. How long are with draws. Can't be much longer can it? Thank you. Plz respond

I just went to dose (methadone) and when I got home probably 20 mins or 30 mins later, I puked and I'm not sure if it had enough time to absorb into my system. How long does it have to stay in body for you to get the full effects of dose? Or will I not feel it because I threw some if not all of it up?

I have been on methadone treatment for exactly 1 year. Lately, I've been determined to get off of it. My highest dose was 190mg/day. I have since dwindled my way down to 85mgs/day (pink liquid form). Just last Sunday I broke my wrist. I was prescribed vicodin for the pain (and there is definitely a lot of pain). Since Methadone no longer provides pain relief, yet allows me to basically function normally, I decided to quit cold turkey. I have not taken any methadone in 3 days, yet I get no pain relief from the vicodin due to methadone's ability to block out other opiates. My question is, how long will it take for the methadone to stop blocking out the vicodin?

I know the feeling! I got on it to get off opiates that I was taking do to an accident. Now I'm trying to get off methadone. It's so hard! People need alot of strength to get off methadone!

After a back surgery that rehab properly, I have been under the care of several pain management specialists. I say several because We have moved 3 times for business. The doctors put me on 100 mg Methadone and 120 weeks of Morphine. I had been on this for 10 years. I got a new pain management specialist at a very reputable Spine Institute. He said when he read my record he was appalled at the number of inappropriate procedures that did not have positive results and the dangerous drugs I was on. I told him this caused me to quit my $500k a year job I loved and go on disability. The drugs give you a false sense of normalnes, dulls your senses and has other negative effects to your body that you don't realize until you are totally clean. I went to a local rehab to detox and the first thing they did against my advise (based on my research) was to force a strip of Subaxon under my tounge. Within minutes they had put me in percipatated withdrawl. The absolute worst experience of my life. About 30 minutes later a Doctor came by and yelled at the nurses station "What the h-ll did you give this new patient" He then yelled never give Suboxon immediately to a Methadone patient, who ordered this. Then I went into convulsions, the chair I was in broke into pieces and all I remember is them giving me and injecting me with all kind of drugs. I passed out and awoke 5 hours later. They put me back on Morphine and the place was awful! I was surrounded with Street Addicts and people with mental problems. When my son found out he had me air lifted to NOVUS Medical Detox in Florida. I can't speak more highly of the place and compassion of the staff. I was there 11days. Two nights before I left I went back in withdrawl again. They treat with a combination of Naturals and drugs. They put me back on Buprenophine and made sure I was comfortable. When I left they gave me a prescription for the Buprenophine and taper schudule. After home for several days the withdrawl symptoms reoccurred and after 2 days I say my primary doctor and she immediately had me admitted to the hospital for monitoring. I just got home and still am not totally detoxed from the Methadone. They said I'm near the end of the detox. But I will experience PAWS (post acute withdrawl syndrome) for up to 3 months and gave me info on how to deal with it. My total out of pocket expense because of my terrible United Healthcare Insurance, so for is over $15,000, which will have to come out of my retirement funds, which is so wrong! My advise is 1) Never take Methadone. 2) Make sure you have a good insurance plan 3) Research your rehab center closely. There are a lot of bad ones. 4) If you are on Methadone get off of it unless to stay on it and shorten your life!

I had to get on something after taking oxycontin and oxycodone for years. I was so tired of the control it had over me. I am taking 100 of liquid meth. I did not take it for a day or 2 and felt great. Seriously, can I we in myself off that too and not have pain??? Help me out if you.

Hi evry one I currently just tappered down frm 60mg to 3mg of methodone it took like 9months with me going down 3mg per week!!I am very excited to be getting off but does any one no any good Methods that I can try to stop the pain I stopped June13 2014 I didn't start feeling bad until the 16th n evry day has Ben like hell!!I am seeking advice Please and to any one else out there tryen to stop dont get discouraged!!!Because as much pain that I am going threw I no one I am done I'll b just a little bit stronger

I took a half of 10mg methadone n 5 days later my job did a random drug screen n it showed up..took it once only bc I was n a car wreck n lost my very good job.....methadone stays in your system longer bc its in your bones thats why it usually dont show up in a blood test.the more you take the longer it will remain..i would have been ok after about 7 days or so :/ my advice stay away from. it..

I find it reeaally hard to believe that a one time dose of 5mg showed up in a urine screen 5 days later. There's a lot left out here.. like, how did you just happen to have access to it? I was on methadone therapy for opiate addiction at 190mgs/day. I had a urine screen that was 'sent to a lab' for a job interview. I did expect this test so I flushed my sistem and took electrolytes, vitamins and creatine in preparation. Passed with flying colors. I just don't understand, if you had't been taking them more often, or at a higher dose, how it could have shown up in a screen nearly a week later. Smells fishy..

You don't start to feel like crap from withdrawals until days 4-6. Don't be mislead thinking you are fine because you still feel good on days 1-3. I found this out the hard way..

U have to go down slow.if I u stop cold turkey the first 3-4days u will feel fine.but then all hell kicks in tapper all the way down to 1mg if possible.good luck in u can go to the doctor to get meds like coladpins for therestless feet n thy can give u nausea/vomiting meds thn u will feel cool Good Luck ok!

I learned some tricks while illing. When u get the stomach pains hot bath water is the s***, I damn near lived in there. definitely drink gateraide it has electrolytes that keeps you hydrated I craved water but it wasn't anuff because my body was puking every thing up. Once I went to the Dr on the 11th day for some fluids,coladopin fr the rest less legs,coladine fr nausea vomiting, and another one to help with the with draw symptoms!!!I am on my 13th day I feel a 91% better I still need to pass my food more nourmaly!! hope this helps some one!!!!
