How Long Does Methadone Stay In Your System? (Page 7)

Is Methadone completely out of your system in 72 hours, or does it take longer? Since Methadone seems to last longer that 4 - 6 hours, I was just wondering?

I have been taking less then 10 ml of methadone for about a month now..for my back pain it helps but when I dnt have it, it dnt brother I guess cuz IM not taking much..but if I stop taking it when will it be out of my system..??

stop now! Well before you get addicted! ask for codine, natyral opiates are much easier to quit, methadone takes months to ;eave your body, NOT WORTH IT! besides I ended up with heart issues due to it's use!
When your body gets used to it, and say you have a theft, loose some or other issue your screwd. They used to loose my scipt and I would go into withdrawl and its no FUN!

"Thats not exactly true. I take 10mg methadone 3x daily and I took 2 blood test and showed no methadone in my system. Which made my doctor wonder but when I did a U/A it was positive for meth," -That's what you wrote, and I go to a clinic asking the same question and it all depends on the the test you take if it's only the 11 panel then your good but if it's that 14 panel you might be wrong they specially have to test for meth. So don't honk you r horn to soon but good luck ill be praying for you ....l.b detroit..313

I could not agree more! Methadone withdraw is absolutely Hell on Earth. The worst part is the sleeplessness. You go through the withdraw wide awake because you are unable to sleep. Please, unless you are prescribed this medication, and have the willpower to stick to your dosage, DO NOT get on this evil stuff.
I've been on it since 2005. If I run out of my prescription early, the only thing that I've found that helps is Xanax. The lesser of two evils as they say.

yes I was taking oxycodone for pain ran out and took 3 methadone tabs I a day I had to take a urine and ya the meds prescribed to me showed up and so did the methadone

I agree. I went to a methadone treatment program for 16 months. I tapered down to 10 mg from 95 mg b4 going cold turkey. It was the worst kind of withdraw and pain / sick I've ever had. I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Yes u should be fine however in the future don't take it so close to a test you should always give ur body 7-10 days but here's a trick that does work the morning of your test wake up and within a 3 hour period drink 2 gallons of water an pee 3 times before you go wen u take the test it will cover the methadone an you'll pass with flying colors I have 3 friends on probation that do this every week with harder drugs they use

Im confused by your message. Did you stop taking methadone and now your on subtex? Or off it all? I have been on methadone 7 years. I seriously tried to stop taking 3x and failed. Once landed me in a 3 week coma. I dont want to take this medicine anymore but Im sick and not able to make ut through withdrawal. I think this was gov. Way to get rid of drug addicts.

I started on methadone in 2002 for chronic back pain. My highest dose was 120 mg/day. I kicked it cold turkey in May. I also take Lorazepam 15mg. Since I stopped methadone in May, what would happen if I took one 40 mg methadone now? Also, can you have re-occurring periods of loss of memory, doing things you can't remember doing, etc.? I really need an answer.

I started on Methadone in 2002 for chronic back pain. My highest dose was 120 mg/day. I kicked it cold turkey in May 2013. I also take Lorazepam 15mg and Trazodone 150mg. I stopped methadone in May but took 1 40mg capsule the other day and my family said I was like a drunk person, I didn't know what I was doing or saying...I didn't know anything about my surroundings, they couldn't get me to bed, I started feeding my dogs again at midnight and they had all been fed already....also I fell on the floor....is the Methadone still having side effects....what is wrong with me. I don't consume alcohol ever but my family said it was like being drunk. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I'm really depressed and take Cymbalta also. Can anybody help me?

I've taken 20 mgs methadone for 6 days straight and day 5 I took 40 mgs. I have a pre employment drug screen Wednesday morning exactly 4 days from this morning when I took my last dose. Very stupid I know, but it's not something I do very often( I know, 6 days looks otherwise) but I didn't get the call for the job til this morning. Will I pass a urine test out do I need to take other precautions? In a little in the heavy side. Thanks for the help

I AM TAKING A URINE TEST FOR A JOB IN 2 HOURS.I USED 2 10mg TABS YESTERDAY AND HAVE BEEN FLUSHING MY SYSTEM TODAY WITH PURICLEAN-OMNI AND WATER THIS MORNING. CAN I PASS PEE TEST AT 4PM?

Your wrong methadone stays in the urine a lot longer then blood if taken for a long period of time the methadone can stay in urine for weeks and after last dose it will be out of blood in no more then 72 hours due your research before you give someone info that might cause them harm

I have a question but don't know where to put it.I have been on meth for 23yrs.had a very,very bad heroin habit,when we would run out anything would be brought to curb the withdrawals.I am 51yrs. have managed 2 ladies stores in this period then thought it was time to come off,I started being tapered off,got down to 12mgs.and started feeling really really bad.So I started drinking Vodka well to make a long story short.Was doing 40pds+ a day ended up seizuring into the hospital I go 7days in ICU,when I got released i started drinking again.have been to 2 treatment centres.The last one did the trick have been alcohol free for 4.5yrs. but back up to 120mgs.of meth I heard that narcon can be used as a withdrawal from meth...I started at 250mgs meth 23 years ago,made it to 12 mgs and now back up to 120mgs.have you ever heard of narcon being used for withdraw? thank-you susan

It depends on your body most take 3 days. Some it can take 24 hours and some people it can take 7 days. Drink lots of water . Water water water.

Really took interest in your story.Cymbalta could been the reason for this.But I doubt it.was a 40 mg disk.Ive been on methadone 22 yrs.120mg.I can take 240 an im straight no nodding etc/Rememberr the 1st time.it would keep you up all night.but acting like a person that drinks.is what got me puzzled.cymbalta i would never use that drug.has to many cons.I have no answer but let me know.im going to do some research on this.
