How Long Does Methadone Stay In Your System? (Page 6)

Is Methadone completely out of your system in 72 hours, or does it take longer? Since Methadone seems to last longer that 4 - 6 hours, I was just wondering?

YES IT WILL BE OUT YOUR SYSTEM I TOOK 140 MG 10 DAYS AGO AND WENT FOR A DRUG SCREEN YESTERDAY AND PASSED TO DRUG SCREEN!

I took a half a methadone wafer on wends bout 10 30pm i got hurt last night at wrk and had to take a piss test. It has been abt 100 hrs since i took the pill shld i b ok???

I was on methadone for 3 years and It was in my system for 4months It was the hardest opiate treatment to get off of I cut cold turkey went from 150mg to nothing I detoxed for 2-3months I couldn't eat,sleep move well I had no energy I would not rec amend this treatment to anyone! Subs is much easier on your body and easier to come off from It is better then methadone that's for sure and dose the same thing!

HI can anyone help me i have been using heroin for twelve years i stoped when i found out i was pregnant everyhing fine thank god but ater three months giving birth went back on it .She is now eight my daughter .so in those years i had a juice habbit of 30 mils and a bag or two a day .recentley went on holiday for 7 days took methodone pills with me .first day had two. each pill is 5 mils each .Then in the night another two .but in the meantime of doing this i was drinking alot but felt that i could not get drunk .basicaly at the end of the holiday just cut it down but the last two days went down to only one pill .today is saturday my last pill was tuesday morning which was a 5 mil pill .is it out my system .But must be honest my partner is a user and i have tried so hard not to go back on the b since tuesday i have had two lines each day thta is it just two lines because at the end of the night its ther in ur face the but how come im strong enough to have only two lines .but when i was on holiday i acted like a crazy person no sleep just drinking now its kind of a blur .

I just got through with withdrawl for 48hrs off methadone. It sucked pretty bad. I was only taking 20mg each day for 3years. Doesn't sound like a lot to some. It was plenty for me to function like a normal person daily. I just took a 4mg suboxone strip today. I feel so much better as of now. I plan of 2mg for 2 weeks . Then I will taper down to nothing . I just want to take the suboxone long enough for the dones to leave my system. I'm hoping by not abusing the suboxone ,and taking it for 3weeks will do the trick. Does anyone think. Have a recipe for success ?

No that's not how it works. No one really knows exactly how long. I would not take a test 4 at least 45 days. Sorry 4 the bad news

I have taken 10 mgs of a 85mg dose bottle of methadone almost 3 weeks ago now nd tomorrow is my 3rd test hoping it comes out clean of methadone tryin to get on the program cus I was on oxys for 9 yrs after being hit by a car working nd my dr up and transferred without making sure I ahd a replacement dr im hoping tomorrow which will be 3 weeks to the date that its not in my system so I can get on it myself I should have never taken it but was in a lot of pain starting a new job and wanted to make sure it worked for me the same as my oxy's seeing how I don't really know much should I be good for my tomorrows test?? I have being peeing a lot drinking a lot of mtn dew (diet) and water and im feeling the symptoms of withdrawl today leg cramp eyes watering sniffles feel like a bad bad flu

I feel u, I am ok with my drs and I do ok with my meds but I always feel like I'm doing something wrong just because I was badly injured and my butt muscle was torn so bad it's not healed for 2 yrs and cuz if stupid drs they missed my hip being badly jammed which could have been fixed by a chiropractor and now I'm in hell I literally can't walk it caused a bone to fracture because the drs can't even read the mris correctly than it gets so bad I'm in the hospital and a dr will look at one and be like oh they missed this...my hubby is a recovered addict with me a chronic pain patent and after many yrs of struggling he is in a methadone clinic now but I tell u what for instance I know a couple the wife is THE REASON PEOPLE LIKE ME R JUDGED SO BADLY neways she finds symptoms to get drs to give her anything she can get and here's the thing her hubby was actually in a bad accident and they were at my house and I (I'm no dr) could tell he was in real pain and she was faking it was so fake my daughter who is 13 could tell, and I know when I've gone into the er after suffering from the worst migraines I've ever seen and I'm throwing up and screaming crying but can't stop and it just makes it worse and they treat me like I'm faking I think how the heck can a doctor not tell the difference? I can! U can see pain in a persons face, some r good at faking but does that make it ok to let people suffer, I read these comments and I'm mostly hearing people who r in real pain and under prescribed so what do u do. U cry and u end up breaking down and taking something a friend or family member has because pain sux. And what do u get? U get kicked out of ur drs office who under prescribed u in the first place and here's the thing, a good dr can (and I know this cuz I'm proof) put u on the correct dose and NEVER EVER have to increase due to tolerance if that dr gives a crap and teaches u how to about once every six months have one s***ty month excuse my language, u for that one month the first week cut ur dose as much as u can without withdrawal than the second week do the same third and fourth same also by the fourth u should b taking about half maybe less if u have good self control or a good dr who helps u, than u go right back to ur original dose and guess what it works like u just were put on it for the first time. This is true it works, I do it, I actually have been in 3 car accidents and the butt going was just the topping they did for the first time in 5 yrs raise my dose but I am almost on what I was taking originally because I chose to suffer but I have a dr who helps me. Because he helps me I don't ever have to abuse my meds and not he very rare I talking this has happened twice and it was right when I first tore my butt muscle, but she. The odd not normal thing happens where ur in so much pain one time u actually ligit need more u can tell ur dr straight up and guess what he helps cuz he knows it's absolutely going to b short lived. If drs didn't read things that say NARCOTICS DONT CURE BLAH BLAH then they think oh I won't ever give narcotics for that cuz it won't CURE it, whic I all Capp cure because pain meds CURE NOTHING! But these des r so afraid to treat they under treat and the real people in pain suffer, I'm up at midnight cuz I'm in massive pain, I have a full bottle of pai meds but I have been taught how to suck it up and when I can just take my meds, I read a drs blog where he said he thought if u had a back ache or tooth ache or migraine u should always be helped fairly in the er but if a er doc does not give u narcotics for a migraine they r doing u a favor, I told him my story how I was like 12 when I started getting migraines we called them sick headaches cuz no one knew what that was back then but I have seen great neurologists and there is one migraine I get called a status migraine and it's hell I can't put in words what it's like I've had 5 kids and would go through childbirth over one of these migraines just look it up but I asked him what would u do if u saw me in the er cuz I've tried all the treatments and only 1 works and it's not just the narcotic I have to have 3 very specific meds only1 is a narcotic if they r not exactly correct it won't work but I will go through the hell of there let's try everything else first than after 8 hours they if silly do what my nuro said to do I asked him what would u do and he has written "I am sometimes slow to answer but I always reply to all questions and comments!" It's been 3 months and I asked him what would u do if u saw me because and I told him this, it's literally blogs like urs that cause me the most trouble at the er, and he never ever replied I was very nice and I even posted a second time no reply because drs r in a screwed up position because of all the drug addicts abusing the drs and a law suit right there they r afraid to help and they make not as much money now a days just wait till Obama care is in effect. We r all screwed. It womt matter if ur bone is sticking out of ur skin, drs r either good drs and they're. Stuck between a rock and hard place or they r pompous jerks who just got out of med school and think they know it all and never themselves have felt pain so everyone is a drug seeker. W the methadone if u take one dose doesn't matter how much u will pop dirty more than likely in 7 days but after ten u won't it's about how long u have been taking it as far as how much longer than a week after stoping. I know this from my husbands classes. Blood test it won't show after just a few days cuz ur blood idk recycles different hair, cheek swab and ua r more reliable and will show longer. It's all about the half life the methadone goes into ur fat it has a very long half life, also if u ever need to prove ur real pai level to a dr if u can hack it if u take nothing not even a Motrin for 3 months that's ur real pain level I did this to but it sux and I don't think I could say do it if u have bad pain cuz I almost killed myself.. Sorry to rant I feel bad and I have read a lot of these typs of sites and some r straight druggies just looking to get high and some on here kind of r but some r not that's why I said all I did. For those who r suffering and it's not necessary. In countries where drugs r not as riged as far as laws they have less drug abuse go figure.

i took methadone fore 13.years a year ago i decided to taper of and was on a high dose, every month i would drop down like 3. or 2 millagrams it got easy and started feeling better ,it took hard work i hated going to the clinic and paying 130.00 every 2 weeks,but i did methadone so long that doing herion was never even a thought,it took time fore me to think this way ,and by the way when your on methodone fore me like on my days of all i did was sleep , and nod out , now a week ago i took my last 2 millagrams and now i am not a slave no more, i did it , like i said drop low and slow, how ever long it takes you , im just glad this is over with , thank you

Most opiates are 72 hr but methadone is a different story I truly believe its absorbed by your bones. It will kill your teeth quicker then h. Stay away.

I have been on methadone for years and everytime I try to go off I dont want to get out of bed let alone function. I was put on oxycontin for chronic pain and it seems that was easier to get off from then methadone. I suffer from major depression when I dont take the methadone. I feel im in a damming position. I want to be totally drug free God was with me to get off the oxycontin but it seems I just beat myself up because ive tryed to wein myself off methadone and cant function without. Im afraid I might have to go back to treatment again. Wow if I would have known this I would live with the pain and depression. Any advise welcomed

i have been taking 60 mg methadone day for over a year i wanted to get off it my dr put me on perkisett 7.5 mg 3xday and ive been feeling like crap ,dont want to get out of bed ,feel agitated,depressed ,chills,sweats, my whole body aches,how long does this last,or how long before the full effects of methadone are gone.

All people are different. I have been at a methadone clinic for 2 years. I entered detox 2 weeks ago. I am out now. Yeah I feel rough, but not rough enough to say that I can't handle it. The worst withdrawls are body aches, loss of sleep, loss of appetite, and cold sweats. You can beat it. But, I do agree, I would have never joined the clinic, if I had been more informed about the detox effects. Just remember, what goes up, has to come down. I do not recommend upping your does over 40mgs. Just take one day at a time...... You can do it. I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

methadone is effin terrible!! I was on it 23 yrs. The Dr caught up with me puffing and cut me off after given a choice. Because I am 62 and will not accept that, I went off, and ALL SUMMER long it took to get clean! They had me on 30 mgs a day every 8 hours 10 mgs. Cut me 10mgs a week until the last 10 and stopped! GD Dr is an a$$hole and "felt" that was good enough! I had to wean myself, with 15 ER visits to 3 hospitals and finding street level hydros. This all started 23 yrs ago after my 3rd failed back operation, Dr had me on oxicontin well before it was popular and I hated itit hit me all at once, and cost $250.00 per month. Then the methadone was $20.00 a month. So I agreed, and it was the biggest error ever! Had no clue this would happen. Pot is harmless, but the feds have it in the same cat. as H and coke! So now they are cracking down, trying to control us!! Get off it!! DO NOT allow them to give it to you!! It's EASIER to stop Heroin than this s***! It's a synthetic opiate as is the Hydrocodone. Real opiates are much easier to stop!!
They gave me a drug list of 8 different drugs to help me withdraw, and they did NOTHING! colonipin (spelling) just makes you feel worse! Nothing but weaker opiates help! Finally after all summer I feel better, no more leg spasams, and I can sleep a bit now, but still-since july feel like crap. The worse part is I have heart problems now from it and real bad pain! The pot helps a bit as it relaxes me. But no real help. OTC stuff will not help with bad pain. My advice-DO NOT EVEN START and if on it get a REAL world wean, by reducing it gradually not in 3 weeks like the bastards did to me! (The friggin VA-feds) screwed me real good, BUT a pain clinic (that suks) will cut you dry! If you test hot for pot!
I once called to renew my mothly script and got screamed at for calling too soon but it was my correct time! It's NOT worth it! Even if you have pain! What ever happened to Tylenol with codine? Or just real opiates?

i am on methadone treatment for pills. i am at 100 and xurrently started going down im at 80....i am so confident that i xan do this but i am terrified as well...i know allot has to do with u wanting to stop, your support system, and ur mental state....but im still terrified my husband is clean n he dsnt understand but still supports me....i just need advice on how to be succesful
