How Long Does Methadone Stay In Your System? (Page 4)

Is Methadone completely out of your system in 72 hours, or does it take longer? Since Methadone seems to last longer that 4 - 6 hours, I was just wondering?

Half life is 24 hers..of the dose..u must cut whatever the dosage was in half..every 24 hrs...once the math is done..as a precautionary..herbal Lipton tea bags..honey..and drink a few a day..It usually helps a bit..speeds up the bladder.. but.this is a nasty drug..my advice..dig deep.into your soul..do u really want a ball and chain..its just like prison..best of luck..

I having been taking 80mg. Of methadone for two weeks.i am usually on roxi's 30mg. 2- qid(4 times a day)
I have a u/a in 9 day's.doe's anyone truly know how long it takes to come up clean on the test.all these answers are all over the place,so please do not respond if your guessing. Or heard from someone as I need it firsthand with someone who has actually has gone through it and how long it took for it to come up clean.no guessing please,I don't want to lose my pain doctor,so no guessing please......thank you

The math is simple....methadone has a 24hr have life..so if u took 30 mlgs of the dose in 24hrs its cut in half..and in 24 hrs. U cut the left over dose number..n.u continue to do so..till there's no number left.but b cautious and drink a lot of herbal teas.the bag kind...everyone's different..good luck...

I was going to a pain management doctor and they had me taking 30 mgs of oxicodone 7 times a day and 15 mgs oxys 5 times a day. soma 3 times a day and 6 xanaxs a day my husband takes methadone. well every morning i get our medicine ready for the day well 3 weeks ago i accidentally mixed my soma with his methadone and i took his by accident and when i went to my dr they did a drug screen and the methadone showed up even though it had been 3 weeks and i only took one so i ended up losing my doctor so now idk what I'm going to do. i don't think its right it was an accident. I'm bipolar and i need my xanax to sleep and i have bad back problems. i don't know how they can just drop you as a patient like that and i don't see how one methadone can stay in your system for 3 weeks its crazy

It takes time to come clean..whatever u took.every 24hrs.cut the dose u took in half..and so on.till the math runs out..methadone's half life is 24 hrs.before it cuts itself in half.if u took 80mlgs..tommrow the same time its cut to 40mlgs..n so on..a lot of herbal lemon tea bags will help..n..milk of maganisa will help also..there's no real science..its up to your body.we're all different..hope this helps..

Methadone can be detected:
In your urine for up to 6-12 days after your last dose.
In your blood for up to 24 hours
In your saliva for up to 1-10 days
In your hair for up to 90 days

That said, I'm sure these estimates also depend upon the length of time you've been taking the drug, as well as the frequency of use & dosage. So there's no real straight answer since everyone is going to be different, but I hope this info can at least help as a guideline!

Ive been on methadone 8 yrs after 9yrs heroin use. it will show up ALOT longer than 6hrs. i have urine screens 1/mo (never know when its gonna be)....6hrs is waaaaay off

Its gonna show up..the half life of methadone is 24hrs..but that doesn't mean its out of ur system all our bodies r different ...I'm sorry to hear the news.was it for d.o.t.work related???.. To b safe is around 3 weeks..I had a d.o.t..test..n..there's another way if u have the time..if the test is for employment..then..herbal lemon teas...a lot of children's pedi elite....n..if u can afford it..get a methadone test panel on the internet 20$...then..you'll know for sure...but take the test in a week once the fluids r in ur system..hope this helps..

PLEASE, please be careful with this, with the being constipated and experiencing pain when you use the bathroom! My sister was on a lot of pain medication (opiates) for her sciatica--she also complained of being severely constipated and of it hurting when she did manage to use the bathroom a little! WELL, she was 38 at the time-and she was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer!!! There was/is NO family history of colon cancer on either side! She passed away two days after her 40th birthday. I TRULY BELIEVE that the excessive use of the pain pills and the resultant severe, chronic constipation contributed to her developing colon cancer!!!! So I shared my sister's story in hopes that others would read it, and perhaps be spared a similar fate!! God bless!

I can tell you I have been on Methadone 90 mg a day for 13 years now. After a recent move I was prescirbed 60 mg Morophine extended realease tablets. 1 every 12 hours. I know I am weak, afraid of the pain and scared of anything new. I looked at the dosing and itseemed to be off. The 1st few days was amazing. I was awake and alert and felt GREAT.

By this time I had read about every last post with my fiance on the web. The 4th to the 7th day was bad. I won't lie. I did try tylonol PM which gave me personally a horrible feeling. Excersise helped alot. For me It ISN'T as bad as everyone says. The worst is the mood swings and depression, but you are in battle with a wicked demon, and cause you feel anything means you are winning. Some days are hard, I won't lie. But the weight falls off, you find yourself eating less and able to be more regular (those who take methadone know). Don't let it defeat you, keep someone who loves you and knows your at war to stand and figh with you.To keep temptaion away. An army is always better than 1.

Imodium will help withdraws, excercise and have sex. Keep busy and don't look at time. Take 1 hr at a time. Don't worry about later. It will only cause anxiesty and depression. Let me assure you, you CAN, you are ABLE and you will accomplish it. It is better to have better years ahead than be a slave to those pills.

You know "will my Dr be in, do I have enough meds, pill counting, looking for new Dr's and all"? I am weak..but getting stronger, I am depressed but find myself laughing alot, I feel better day by day and feel like things will be back to normal in time. Try to excercise and get your endorphines moving.

A FEW moments will make you feel alot better. Take alot of hot baths and get some sleep. Please find peace wherever needed, mediatation I JUST picked up makes me feel strong and able. Tell yourself everyday that there only is 1 you, your unique and no other person on earth is like you. That you feel yourself getting stronger and better. I see myself growing more powerful that the demon and sharpening my mind.

Remember a mind needs reassurance, love, comfort and support as a knife needs a wet stone. I went threw alot and know how you feel. Just stand up, and say " not today". Dig your heels deep in and fight. It is tough but remember you are so not alone. Look around. We all have been here. I just decided to give some hope to those out there like me. If I did it, I KNOW you can. Remember its not what you have done, it's what you have overcome.

I have quit taking hydros!!! I went from taking twenty a day to two a day and now I'm clean!!! You people think it's bad coming off tabs?? That ain't nothing compared to coming off methadone 10 mg and tab 10mg both at tha same time.

The doctor that told u that the methadone will be out of ur system don't know anything about it!!! I haven't taken it for over 2 weeks (I had been on 130 milligrams for 5 years and I'm still coming up for it in my system

I was put on Methadone 3 years ago for chronic pain after all else had been exhausted. I was on 60 mg daily which a specialist told me was equivalent to 30 percs a day. I was dropped down to 30 mg daily and stopped on June 29th. So far so good. I have done my research and am prepared for the worst but hoping for the best. My main concern is the mental effects of withdrawal as I have just moved and am doing this alone. My computer is my lifeline right now.
