I've come of 50ml a day of methadone in about 5 months,your body gets used to the level your taking after 3-4 days,so a constant regime of small reductions shouldn't be a problem.
If used correctly,and reduced correctly It's no better or worse than other medications.

I've taken 20mgs of methadone and passed a urine screen @ my pain dr. in lets say 3 1/2 days they send them off to the gas chamber for testing,take in hand if your taking say every 12 hours you've only cleared 4 mgs out of ten so your back to 16mgs if you take another 10mgs,( only applies if your a healthy individule)chronic use of methadone will build up in fat tissue extending elimination time.

My advice to anyone contemplating going on the methadone program to dig deep and try your best at coming off any opiate cold turkey before signing up to the hardest withdrawal that I've ever been through. I honestly didn't think that i would survive the torture.

I agree with this so f***ing much! I also got addicted to methadrone, it took me ages to kick it...worst of all its so easy to get that the temptation was always there taking me even longer! Its a morish drug that has a horrible cum down, leaves you skint, and you find your self around friends who are also addicted to it using u for ure money to pay for there habbit! This does happen and believe me its the WORST drug in the world! DO NOT TOUCH THIS DRUG!

Started at 50 to80 mgs of methadone per day for one year. In the last two weeks I've gone down to 10 to 30 mgs a day. Took my last 20 mgs on mon the 11, I'm not eating very much do to my withdrawals and can't sleep I have a urine test coming up and I'm not sure the methadone will be out of my system in time. The pills were not in my name I'm considering going to the clinic for a prescription just in case I test positive. But would rather do this on my own I know I can I just don't know if I have enough time. Thanx

I've read all the blogs these seem to be the most logical. I was on methadone for 3 months due to nasty back injury, but agree, I should of just taken moltrin 800's, and dealt with the pain. At least I'm mortal, not tony stark. There's no answer for that stuff, I love my 3 children. And want them to remember me for being superdad,without the dose in me. Been off of it for a few weeks now , and if you care about yourself,and others , you'll realize, life's to damn short. Since I've only been on it for almost 3 months. I want to take a drug test for a life changing job in 2 weeks I haven't taken my 5 MLG dose in 3 weeks will I be clean?. Or should I wait.I want to be safe. How should I handle it. Any ideas?? Thanks....

I am on 30mg of oxy. 5 times daily. I ran out due to the pain getting stronger. I had some methodone so when I got my oxy refill. I took that for ten days then switched to the methodone for 8 days so as not to run out of the oxy before my next appointment. When I went to the Dr. I had been off methodone 20 days. I figured I was ok but a urine test came back positive. My Dr. called me in for another urine test 7 days later and the methodone still showed up. So I would wait as long as possible before taking any urine test.

I was in the same boat...I couldn't get my DOT because the methadone is the 9th on the panel for a urine test I did have a script for it..that alone saved me..so I had to get off methadone.if I want 27$ an hr.so I tried my hardest..n..a medicine man told me....herbal tea bags..honey..moltrin..and aleves...AND nyquil....the liquid kind..its non habit forming besides.the power of that stuff is devastating..like the next man...wolverine...he's fake...the real heroes are those who choose a drug free life..the not sleeping is what got me..so I go some nyquil 2 cups later...n..2 hrs later boom..if u have 2 weeks..you'll come to up clean...I did..and got my job..thank god..best of wishes I hope u come up clean...

Well bless your heart...if u are being honest..then sweet..but..some day the time will come..when there's no choice in the matter..methadone slows your appetite down also..that's the weight loss..the power to get on it is nothing to the power to get off it..everyone's different though..could u handle a 50 MLG dose???. that's small by comparison isn't it..best of luck.can't be on it forever..no ones a marvel character..we are all mortal..not demi gods..lol..best of luck..

Honey.I can tell u this..I'd take 5000 moltrin 800's any day over methadone...I was on it for 3 months.I hurt myself at work not knowing.it sound lame.but I have a high tolerance to lorcets 10.5's which r very addictive..then the story goes on.but fact of the matter...it u do try to get off it for work..it will show up under a 10 panel.methadone is 9th on the list.I'm no liar..if u wanna clean up it'll take u 2 to 3 weeks..In all reality..herbal tea packs with lemon..and moltrins.plus some aleves will help...for the insomnia use nite quilt..best of wishes really....

I feel for you..but the sad news is methadone is the strongest man made stuff around..it even has its own panel on the 10 panel drug test..its the 9th panel..the seneros easy..24 hrs after whatever dose u took..cut that in half..and every 24hrs.u cut it in half till there's no-more in the senero..the half life of methadone is insane.I hope this helps..if u have a week you'll b OK.

It all depends how much..and how long u have taken the dose..methadone has a crazy half-life..the equations simple.in 24hrs.cut whatever mlgs in half..n..every 24hrs.do the same..until u have no left from your math..but remember.methadone is the strongest man made drug out there..n use caution .even after..u think its outta you ..get a methadone test kit..there 20$..and its worth it..my advice..
