Glimaday Forte

With Gimaday Forte, My fasting sugar is 145 & PP sugar is 128.My HBA1c is 6.5.What should I do to bring down my fasting sugar to with in normal limits?

Glimaday Forte contains the active ingredients Glipizide and Metformin, which are oral antidiabetic medications, used to help lower and control blood sugar.

As to the fasting blood sugar, how long were you fasting?

It is normal, when someone is a diabetic and fasts for a long period of time, for their blood sugar to raise, as the body is trying to then burn existing sugar stores for energy and a reading of 145 is not really unusual in such instances.

A prolonged fast caused a kind of bouncing with blood sugar levels. After an initial period of time, your sugar will start to drop, but then it will eventually raise up, when, as I stated, your body is trying to burn existing stores for energy.

Along with the medication, to bring it down lower, you have to use proper diet, exercise and eat small, frequent meals, rather than fasting for long periods.

Another thing that many people don't know is that fats can also have an effect on blood sugar levels. You can cut out all the sugar you possibly can in your diet and take your medications, but if you are still consuming a lot of high fat foods, then you will still run into elevated blood sugar levels.

The reason for this is because fats tend to coat your cells, which prevents sugars from being able to enter them. This, in turn, causes the sugars to just stay in your blood stream and prevents the body from being able to use them for fuel.

Once again thank you. When I sent my last mail I was taking one Glimaday Forte before dinner. Since then I have started taking it after dinner & my fasting & PP blood sugar as also random check figures are all with in normal limits.
