Hi, Karolyn! What were you prescribed?

This capsule contains 30mgs of Lansoprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor that's used to help reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to treat or prevent conditions such as heartburn, GERD, ulcers and gastritis.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, flatulence and stomach pain.

Learn more Lansoprazole details here.

My pharmacy has substituted GG638 for Lansoparazole/Prevacid for Gerd. I've had other generics, but this one doesn't seem to be efficacious. Is is really the same thing? I have not had a prob with GERD in ages till I am now on GG638.

I've recently been given this same pill, started taking it about 2 weeks ago. Previous pill was generic Prevacid 30mg, it was a pink capsule. This white pill does not work. I have been suffering and miserable for about a week now. I am calling my mail order pharmacy (Caremark) to discuss this. Going to ask if I can get a 30 day prescription from local pharmacy (if it's the pink generic capsule) to see if that makes a difference.
