This is a 300mg capsule, a generic for Neurontin. This is used to help prevent Epilepsy seizures and also to treat certain kinds of nerve pain.

hello i am new to this site i am desperate i have had 3 back surgeries and the doctor that did the first one really messed it up bad. the next doc tried his best to fix it but the damage was done. i hurt bad all the time and now i also have neuropathy i am taking pain meds and gabapentins. i take 6/300 mg a day does this med help any one? Please help me

Shugs - Very sorry to hear about your situation. Are you saying that the Gabapentin is not helping to manage your pain at all? How long have you been taking the drug for? I am wondering if it would be of help for you to switch medications. Of course, such a change would need to be under a doctor's supervision since Gabapentin can result in withdrawal symptoms if abruptly discontinued. What has your doctor said so far?

hi roy thank you for your reply i have been on this for some time now.the docter just tells me he dont want to give me much of anything elese becouse he gives me enough with this and the pain meds but i take 1800 mg in this.that should be helping by now if its going to right?and that is a day!i have very bad nerve damage from that doc messing my back up.thank yourm

Well, I'm not saying I know what is better for you than your doctor, but if the Gabapentin is not helping you at all and they refuse to switch your medications it might be a good idea to see if there is a pain management specialist in your area. Or at least maybe there is a different Dr who can look at your medical history, and safely switch you to another pain med. Best wishes!
