One side is blank only with a divider line down the center... The other side of the pill has the capital letter (G) on the left side and divider line down the center and the number (6) on the right side. The FDA classifies Gabapentin as an anticonvulsant that can also help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. It requires a doctor's prescription and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. A sudden withdrawal may also create the risk of seizures. The Gaba that you see available over the counter, however, is just a nutritional supplement. The full name for it is actually Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid. It is just an amino acid. Are the effects cumulative or do they dissipate after a while, I’m taking two 300mg pills a day. one moRniNG, one night? They were assigne for spinal stenoius and a hurneated disc and a slipped disc.they work some of the time,particularly in the morning and evening.i often skip them during the day when I am more physical and the pain lessens. So should I keep taking them regularly or only when I have pain. ## They work best when taken regularly, so the medication remains in your system at a constant level. I have been using generic Amneal Gabapentin 300 mg for years. My pharmacy no longer carries it. Are there any pharmacies in North Central Pa or near Corning NY that carry this brand of Gabapentin? Can you take Gabapentin with Zubsolv safely? I have been on Gabapentin for a while now but just started taking Zubsolv for opiate addiction and don't know if it's safe to take together. ## Yes, you can take Neurotin with the Zubsolve. I take both daily. ## They can be taken together, as Deanna has stated, but the FDA does warn that combining may result in more severe symptoms of respiratory depression, such as drowsiness, dizziness, sedation. You should also be aware to watch for extreme drowsiness, shallow breathing, and other signs of respiratory distress. Is your doctor aware that you are taking both of them? It is always important that you be properly monitored, for your health and safety.

I take 900mg Gralise, 25mg Nortriptyline, 300mg Tramadol ER, 20mg oxycodone. I've taken all of this for six years. I have cried and complained about weight gain as soon as I started all of these drugs but my Dr. Keeps saying they don't cause weight gain! I'm a petite woman and was always fit and weighed about 107. Now I weigh a lot more, doesn't matter what I eat or don't eat, how much I walk or don't walk, it's been piling on a lot more lately. I had a test done because I was supposed to be getting on pain managment. I took it on the 3rd of this month. It came back to day saying that they had found Gabapentin in it, but I dont know how as I had NEVER heard of it until today, and I have not been given it by may Neurologist, but the dr said that since that showed up I am NO LONGER aloud to get pain meds from them. I even tried explaining that it wasnt even a Narcotic, but they wont let me retake the test. These pills work great for sciatica pain. I am sitting here now with a swollen right foot. I fell the day after easter on pavement -fell hard "splat" (I'm 52) btw. I had back surgery L4-5. 3 yrs ago due to bad sciatica. First foot was completely numb for two weeks. NO feeling. MRI showed nothing. Doctor said I bruised it. There is a long story and before I forget it all I want to share what is happening at this time. I took Gab. For 5 months and weened myself off over a 30 day period. What I was left with was 7-1/2 months of the worse hell on earth you can imagine, I was compelled to kill myself. I should never have survived to get to the other side of death, but I did and now the medical professional look at me as though I am crazy, Im not! Also, It has made me allergic to everything. Does gabapentin help after you have suffered from the adverse effects of cipro or another fluoroquinolone? ## Hi Jerri, Gabapentin is marketed for use in treating neuropathy (nerve pain), seizures and pain caused by shingles. Did the effects of Cipro cause such symptoms? If so, you can talk to your doctor about prescribing Gabapentin. Can you describe what adverse effects you experienced? Depending on the conditions you're faced with, there may be something better suited than Gabapentin. I hope this helps and that you get well soon!
