Pls suggest product names for methylcobalamin tablets in India that can be got over the counter without prescription. My mother has been taking Gabapentin 600 mg, twice a day for several years. Recently her Dr. Lowered her dose to 300 mg twice a day. He said the FDA would not allow him to give her a larger dose because of her age, 93 years old. What can you tell me about this? ## It's been found that with some medications, such as Gabapentin, the elderly are more prone to experiencing side effects and/or severe complications. It has seriously endangered the lives of some of them, when their doctors weren't monitoring them closely, so the FDA has started a recent crackdown and can hold the doctors responsible for such harm. The concern has gotten so great, that many insurance companies are just refusing to cover the medications for anyone over 65, or so. Is there anything else I can help with? #...

i had shoulder surgery 2 days ago and it is very painful. i have lots of this med left from when it was originaly prescribed for deep pain in 1 of my legs. i was told that a nerve that was too deep in my leg could not be accessed and this would help. my concern is if i take it now could it help with the pain from my shoulder surgery. or is it not a good idea ## Have you consulted your doctor about what you should take for the pain? Lyrica is not actually an analgesic, so it won't help immediately with pain, such as that which occurs after surgery. Has anyone every experienced a burning sensation of the tongue, gums, lips, aching of the teeth and severe headache while taking Gabapentin? ## Kinda? I have a metallic like taste in mymouth and tingling in myslips and mouth area. ## Those aren't listed as the common side effects. Have you consulted your doctor? It sounds like you may be having some type of reaction to medication, which may require medical treatment, or switching to a different medication.

i feel for 24 hours burning and ache in both my legs and numbness in both my hands for around 2 years, i am taking now Nurobeon (Gabatrex - Gabapentin) and also i tried Lyrica but in vein. i have been advised to take Neucleo C.M.P forte as a course (needles for six days and afterwards tablets for one month. I have been taking Neurontin and Lyraca together for six months, with no pain reduction. My Dr. recently suggested eliminating Neurontin and taking Lyraca only. I was told that Neurontin and Lyraca taken together "cancel each other out". For joint pain and potential nerve damage due to long term anxiety and panic attacks. Internal medicine put me on 8 tablets of tramadol daily and after 9 months a new doctor seriously thinks I became dependent, so he weaned me off and prescribed x3 tablets 1 morning, 1 afternoon, 1 evening of Gabapentin. I'm 3 days into it and want to feel optimistic. Will update on progress or status. Please do the same if you have been on it for awhile. It's not a narcotic, so I feel better and no noticeable side-effects. Hope this helps. Doc was pretty good at analyzing everything about me, full blood work up and physical exam. ## Just so you know. I am currently taking gabapentin and tried to stop them however the withdrawal was awful I couldn't stand the insomnia, anxiety, light sensitive and extremely irritable, heart pounding. So I had to carry on taking them. Me and my partner are desperate for a child but a don't like the sound of how long it will take me to get off these tablets. Plus I work full time and long hours so can't put up with insomnia. Any suggestions and what are the effects on the baby if I carried on with a low dose? Thankyou

I have RSD in both feet and after bladder lift surgery, have all symptoms of RSD in pelvic area. Am taking 6, 15mg morphin and 6 , 10/325 percocett a day plus I have an implanted pain pump with dilaudin in it and I have severe pain 24 hrs a day. Any suggestions to maybe a different type medicine or anything would be appreciated. I also take 4 , 1mg xnax a day and yes I can function. I have beeen taking this for 5 yrs and it does not touch my pain. I have about had it. ## Has your doctor had you try any of the anticonvulsants that have been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain, such as Gabapentin? Or Pregabalin? Many people have gotten very good results with them, so you may want to discuss that with your doctor. What else have you tried?

I take Neurontin and am wondering if there is aspirin in it - everything I read says gabapentin is the main ingredient. But is that aspirin??? ## No, Aspirin would be listed as such.
