What is the expiration date of these pills? ## From what I could gather, the shelf-life of Gabapentin (Neurontin) is about 2-3 years according to the link below: medicines.org.uk/emc/medicine/17095#SHELF_LIFE I've also read studies saying that the expiration date of most pills is actually 10-15 years, but I would think that potency may be lost in that time frame. I hope this helps!

can i take 4,300mg gabapentin at one time instead of 4 times a day ## No, it should be taken at the dosing intervals that your doctor insructed. The reason this is done is to maintain a constant level of the medication in your body throughout the day. That does not happen, if you take a large dose at once and then nothing else for the rest of the day. Learn more Gabapentin details here. Is there anything else I can help you with?

I started taking 300mg/day Gabapentin and through my doctors recommendations upped the dosage to 900mg/day - this was about 4 months ago. I very recently noticed a marked decrease in sexual desire and difficulty with ED ( hard to get going and goes away quickly ). In the rare side-effects section for Gabapentin I saw that it could be the cause of this, my question is if I stop taking the medication will things go back to the way they used to ( or are these side-effects permanent )? Thanks! ## Since Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant, it works on brain chemicals and there have been some rare instances where such medications have cause this type of thing as a permanent problem, but as I said, it is very rare. Normally, such symptoms do reverse when the medication is discontinued. Learn more ...

What are the active and inactive ingredients? Can any of the ingredients cause stomach aches? ## Gabapentin is the active ingredient, the name brand would be Neurontin. However, since Gabapentin is a generic, it is manufactured by several different companies, so I can't provide you with any details on the inactive ingredients from just the limited information you've provided. Can you post back and let me know who the manufacturer is? And yes, it may cause nausea or a stomach ache as a side effect in some people. Learn more Gabapentin details here.

Cannot. Find out what this Med is..... it really made Me feel off balance... is it possible for it to be nerotin?? Need to know. Plz help .......... oval or oblong white D spilt in middle and then 25????? ## Based on the description provided, I've identified your white oval pill marked D 25 to be Gabapentin (800mg); which is commonly used for neuropathic pain. I do believe there are a number of side effects (which you can view in the link below) that could potentially be the cause what you describe as "off balanceness": ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000940/#a694007-sideEffects Have you discussed these concerns with your doctor yet?

I've been taking 300 mg of Gabapentin for a while now in the evenings for a couple of pinched nerves. Recently though the affects are not as noticable so I've not been sleeping very well. Is there any reason why I couldn't start taking two pills for 600 mg instead? ## Doubling to go that high is really not advisable, it is usually only increased by 100mgs each time a dosage adjustment is required, this helps you find the lowest effective dosage for you, while still minimizing the side effects. Learn more Gabapentin details here. What effects are you finding less noticeable? Have you consulted your doctor? ## Yes, you can safely take 600.

I took gabapentin, 600mg at bedtime for 4 months as a sleep aid and relief of unmanageable migraines. During treatment, the following was noted ataxia confusion amnesia going from completely awake to completely asleep with no warning or drowsiness. odd behavior during the night of which I have no memory After stopping the drug, I had extremely vivid dreams, sleep paralysis, auditory hallucinations, mania and hypersensitivity. No side effects were life threatening, but the hallucinations were very real and extremely disturbing. I've been off the drug for 10 days now and have had no more problems. ## Those side effects sound very unpleasant to say the least. Glad to hear that they went away after you discontinued the medication. Sadly enough, I don't think pharmaceutical companies...

If you do go up to 600mm it may well ease your pain BUT in my case it produced amnesia which can be very disturbing if your not warned. Also the higher dose is only for a while and then 300mm will be as effective for pain.Be warned the come down from 600 to 300 should be done slowly. The side effects are similar to coming up on a pill with no benefit only hot flushes, confusion and disorientation ## Did you intend this as a response to someone else's post?
