Finding A Doc To Prescribe Oxycodone In Springfield Mo (Page 15)

I have a very bad neck injury and I'm taking 4 x 10mg oxycodone a day for pain. I've moved to Springfield recently and all of the doctors offices tell me "Oh, our policy is never to prescribe narcotics." Even the hospitals won't prescribe it and have a family practice docs list and at the bottom of the page the disclaimer states none of the above doctors will prescribe narcotics. I need help anyone know a good doctor with in 200 miles of Springfield Mo. who will prescribe oxycodone?

{edited for privacy}. I have filled prescriptions in MO and have a great pharmacist. So others, if you have a good relationship with your pharmacist just ask him who prescribes what you take.

Doctors aren't going to stop writing or kick people out if you're truly in need of the meds. Trust me. Don't worry about too many people going. They are smart enough to weed out those who don't use them or need them.

Any ideas then for help? I have no worries that with my file I will be able to switch have Dr's. I have a referral as well as records from 2002. Just want to wade thru the BS. No Dr. Will turn his patients away for new ones unless they aren't doing what they should so you shouldn't be afraid of loosing your Dr. Any Real help here people.

Dr Shomstein at 314-516-3289. They have great hours and are amazing to work with. Sooo nice.

Joan, that is a St Louis Dr but I am still going to contact him regardless. Thank you so very much. Is he a pain specialist?? I will call tomorrow morning. If this works out I will be sure to let you know. God bless for replying back. {edited for privacy}

Sorry, I don't have any other contacts in any other cities. I'm in St. Louis Mo. There is Dr Padda also, and Dr Belcher. Shomstein does not take Medicaid or state insurance, but, the other doctors do. All 3 doctors can get u in quickly. Please DO NOT use me as references at any of these doctors. Good luck

I was just wondering if anyone got a chance to call any of these doctors. When I saw shomstein for the first time, I brought my previous months scripts, and I left w new precriptions. That was nice, instead of having to go through alllll the crap. Padda and Belcher make u do injections ALL THE TIME, and they do not numb u, it's brutal.

There is a pain doctor at OCH that is very good and does prescribe what you are looking for, but you need to get into an OCH primary doctor first to get referred.

What is OCH? I am looking for a Dr that knows how sad a life is suffering 24/7 in pain. RSD, DDD, DSD, fibromyalgia bad, herniated and bulging disc, rheumatoid arthritis in both hands, so painful. Knee surgery in 2005 and still suffer with pain from the surgery RSD. And just moving here from CA and no one believes me. I took 4 U/A's that are not covered thru both my medical insurance. $500 a test. They don't care and will keep doing them till they get to know me. Why not call my Pain Doc in San Diego? He would be able to tell them everything, and I took my meds correctly. These Dr's here just don't give a damn and tell you you can't take this, want to take you off BTM. It's like live in pain the rest of your life. A Dr started me on pain meds, now bc of dumbasses who abuse the meds that give us some relief to live a quality of life, taking the meds as directed. No, make everyone suffer. Is this even legal? Pain patients are taking their lives. Who wants to live with severe pain, living in a bed or couch bc you can't take a step without screaming in pain? Why live, being a burden on my husband? I never pray for someone to live in my body for an hour, but these govt officials saying that we will take Dr's licenses away if they prescribe a opiates or even morphine, live in severe pain and see how they will be dreaming for meds. They thought they had a problem with people overdosing on any meds, they will see a larger problem with pain patients taking their own lives. We should start a legal suit on pain and suffering bc of the drug addicts that use for the feeling they get. If your in true pain you will not get off on it. I didn't, and I just wanted the pain to go from 10 to a 5 or 4. You don't get fully out of pain, but mask it a lot. A pain that's livable. If I can't find a Dr that will help me with my pain, I will write to you when enough is enough. I'd rather be dead. 2 sisters took their lives due to mental and pain severe so bad they took their lives. {edited for privacy}. I'm in Springfield MO but will travel as well. Please help me.

Joan, sorry it took so long, just been occupied with life. I just wanted to thank you for giving me these Drs names. I will try them and hoping I get one with a heart. Not someone that starts me all over from scratch, PT, etc. Been there done that many times. Pain is still there, unfortunately. People ask me what I wish for, I don't say win the lotto,or new car, Just take away the pain I endured. God bless you for wanting to help pain patients. :)

Och is a hospital owned by doctors. They have clinic offices as well..pain management offices..just about any kind of doctor or specialist you are in need of.
However, to get into their pain management, you must be referred and that takes several weeks to months to get in!!

He is a wonderful doctor!! As long as you are in real pain!! And they take plenty of precautions to know the difference.
Expect to U/A's, which they send to a lab. They can break that down and tell every single type of pill you have taken..so be honest! One lie, you will not see him anymore!! Expect pill counts at anytime and U/A's at any time!! As long as you comply with his rules, he is wonderful!!
