Finding A New Doc

Updated

Hello. I was going to a Doc who was prescribing me my xanax 1 mg three times daily. He worked at this clinic next to a homeless shelter so he was completely free to go to. But he gave me NO way to get a hold of him and he was only open mondays and wednsdays. So he prescribes me 45 for half the month and one refill. Then the worse happened. Half my prescription was stolen from me. I explained this to my pharmacist who would only front me three ( my doctor went out of town at the WORST time but their policy anyway is if its lost or stolen they do not give you refills) So then i went to an urgent care facility to last until my refill and went the same day the pharmacist fronted me the three from the next refill, and then refused to fill it, and called my doctor and then the doctor refused to treat me before because he thinks i went to another doctor. And weeks after when i finally was able to come in to see him ( you have to wait in a two hour long line to see him at this clinic at 6:30 AM and sometimes he just doesnt show up ) he said he lost his confidence in me because in his contract i cant seee another doctor And i explained my meds were stolen and it was an emergency doctor, and he just said a doctor is a doctor , so good luck finding a new one . Does anyone know of a good doctor or phsyciatrist in the Bay area of california who will prescribe me xanax?? I am dire need of it please help

Well, the excused people come up with about stolen prescriptions, or I was taking my meds in the bathroom and dropped them in the sink?toilet is the oldest trick/scam in the book. Since Xanax is a controlled substance, they flat out DO NOT BELIEVE YOU. I know it is hard to digest, but they are treating you as abusing your medication and trying to get an early refill. Sorry to be so blunt, but I guarantee you that is what happen ed, and now you have been black balled.

YEAH of course people make up excuses all the time, but what about those who reallly HAVE gotten their medication stolen? should i have just kept my mouth shut and suffered?! hasnt this ever happened to anyone else onthis website? IT was my brother who just stole some and took off to LA. I could do nothing else about it!

When your medication is stolen, you should always report it to the police, even if there is no chance of them finding/catching the culprit. It is the only possible way to try and back-up your story and prove to the doctor that you had a problem.

Especially with a prescription for a controlled substance.

Your doctor has a right to expect you to obey the rules you agreed to when you started seeing him. All doctors leave emergency information for whom to contact or have an assistant that can handle such problems, when they are out of town.

I am very sorry this happened to you, but getting angry with people on here that are telling you the truth of the matter will not help.

And they are also correct in saying that you have probably been red-listed. In the future it is going to be very hard to get a doctor to give you such prescriptions and/or get a pharmacy to fill them.

Even though you were in a panic over your mediations being stolen, you really mishandled the situation and what you did was considered doctor shopping and pharmacy hopping.

Not only is this reported to doctors, but to the federal government, as well.

Have you tried any other local clinics?

my prescription was stolen is one of the oldest addict tricks in the book. You are Dependant on Xanax now, If you stop taking them you will suffer withdrawl. Next time keep your meds locked up, or stop abusing them..

MY DOCTOR JUST RELEASED ME BECAUSE I ALSO HAD A NEUROSURGEON THAT WAS PRESCRIBING THE SAME DRUG, BUT HE NEVER READ THE LETTERS FROM THE NEURO! I STILL HAVE 3 REFILLS LEFT, BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE AS EFFECTIVE, AND THEIR ARE NO WARNING LABELS ON THEM, WHICH I NOTICED AND QUESTION??? I TAKE GENERIC FOR KLONIPIN AND GENERIC FOR ULTRAM. CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THESE DRUGS HAVE BEEN TAMPERED WITH BY THE PHARMACIST OR IF THEY ARE GIVING ME PLACEBOS OR WHAT?
