Hi Tommy,

If you can't get your prescriptions filled locally, have you considered opting for an online pharmacy that can ship you your meds? I personally haven't used this method for getting a prescription, but I know there are a handful of sites out there that are safe and legal to order from amongst the swarm of bad ones:

Legitimate online pharmacies that carry the VIPPS seal are listed at:
nabp.net/programs/accreditation/vipps/find-a-vipps-online-pharmacy/

FDA: Buying Medicines and Medical Products Online
Quick Tips for Buying Online:
* Make sure the site requires a prescription and has a pharmacist available for questions.
* Buy only from state-licensed pharmacies. The National Association of Boards of Pharmacies has more information about licensing and its program to certify online pharmacies.
* Don't provide personal information such as credit card numbers unless you are sure the site will protect them.

Hope this information helps!

It's gonna be very hard to fill. Ga now has all the crazy people from Florida here. Also why do you come to a doc in my state? I have a 4 page mri, handicapped tag, etc and I'm only 30 and for the last month and a half I cannot get my #60 30mg pills filled. The pharmacy I have uses forever hasn't got any in and I think its from the out of state explosion here and distributors are just not shipping it here like they were. Sadly I could go buy them on the street but I can't afford that. I'm about to make a video since I have been to over 60 pharmacies in the Atlanta area showing just how hard it is for a legit patient to fill and how easy it is to get them in the streets. I think some pharm techs have been bought out by groups of drug dealers since they have no problem filling. Love this country!! Not!!!

Same here!! Oh you get oxycodone...you must be a criminal and not need them cause you're in pain, f***ing pharm techs like to play god!?! I hope every last one of them has an accident and is in severe pain and can't get their s*** filled and are demonized and made to feel like a sub-human common criminal as they drive in agony from pharmacy to pharmacy TO PHARMACY burning up gas which is rediculously expensive and have to pay for it with money they don't have cause they have no insurance so all their money has to go to paying the Dr and the pharmacy....assuming they can find a pharmacy, maybe then they'll know how it feels. All this while the street prices steadily climb thus making all the drug dealers, that the DEA is trying to prevent, that much richer and the real patients suffer that much more.....yeah great job guys (DEA /Gov), makes a lot of sense A-holes!!

Hey. Just thought I would let you know that I heard of a litttle mom & pop pharmacy that fills GA scripts that is in Berea, KY. When you jump off I-75, go toward downtown (TR if coming North, TL coming south). Go to first stoplight and TR. It's alittle place called discount pharm on the right. Once again, not sure if this is true, but I know a friend has his filled there and gets them in GA. Give it a try!

Just to give all of y'all a heads up, those of you making trips down here from kentucky, ohio, and tennesse, down to georgia and florida and hitting up all the pain clinics, and walking away from each of them with Oxycodone, Oxycontin, alprazolam, and hydrocodone prescriptions, it is useless to stop anywhere in georgia to try and get them filled. I've worked at 2 pharmacies in georgia over the past 5 years, one was a small one out in the middle of nowhere, and the other in a Big city. And no pharmacy wants to deal with those pain clinic prescriptions with absurd amounts of narcotics on them. Yeah a real doctor wrote them for you, He went to a real medical school, and has a real medical license, and can legally prescribe them because he has real DEA number. But what it boils down to is that what that pain clinic doctor and practice is doing is not ethical what so ever. They are putting dope out there on the streets and getting rich from doing it. And when the drug inspector comes to your pharmacy to inspect it, you don't want him to see that you have been filling these absurd pain clinic prescriptions, because as a pharmacist it is part of their job to determine whether or not the patient needs the prescribed medication which in turn makes them liable for everything prescription they fill. So they are not going to risk their license over filling prescriptions for a bunch of narcotics. Ive seen several that we have turned away that have been for 300+ oxycodone. 200+ xanax. 300+oxycontin. If someone is prescribed to take 13 30mg oxycodone's aday, then they should be laying on there death bed, not walking into a pharmacy with their sunglass still on because they are so doped up. Hospice patients who are about to die within 3-4 days don't even get prescribed the amount of pain medicine that pain clinics write for people. And just to let y'all know, the DEA is about to start cracking down even more on oxycodone prescriptions even more between the north atlanta and south georgia area, so i got new for y'all, y'all aren't gonna be getting them much longer, better find a good street heroin dealer. Because if your from out of the state, if your doctor is out of the the state, no where is going to fill them. The place I work at now, will only fill them if you are from the same town as our pharmacy or if your doctor is in the same town as us, they don't f*** around with no out of town stuff, it don't matter if the town is 20 miles away, and everywhere is gonna be like that soon, so all of you out of state people might as well save your gas, and keep on trucking on I-75, because the DEA agents that inspect pharmacies are telling everyone not to fill those prescriptions if there they are pain clinic prescriptions pretty much, especially if the person or doctor is from out of town, so if your from outta state your just f***ed. Figured id let y'all no, pass the word on, We turned away about 17 people today. and to the person named theZog. People who are in pain get a 7-10 day supply of pain medicine, people who get a month supply are just addicted especially when its 200-300 pills, have f***ing surgery and get the problem fixed and you won't have to have f***ing pain medicine because you want have no damn shoulder problems, or back problems anymore. If your prescribed that much oxycodone I don't see how the f*** you could even get out of bed if it didn't kill you first. Most of y'all probably sell it because medicaid pays for it for y'all and y'all pay $0.00 or $0.50 for several hundred dollars, sometimes thousands of dollars worth of medicine. Who people like me, tax payers are having to pay for. So we thank you

Hey inside person---- I live in the state of Georgia and go to one of the few doctors who accepts insurance. I am given 60 30mg, 60 oxycontin 60mg, 90 soma, and 99gabapentin a month, you think your pharmacy can fill for me considering every pharmacy is out because of all the madness going on in the state. It seems the distributors have cut down what they are shipping here 10 fold. I usually go to wal mart but for 8 weeks they have not got in in. Cvs, walgreens, and publix seem to not have any problems but places that use mckesson are. Cardinal is the one who got in trouble not mckesson. All I know is several patients at my clinic cannot get their Meds filled and we all live in Georgia. I drive a little ways to my doc (45 mins) because I was in a car wreck and the place I go was the only one i found who could bill Allstate with a diagnosis code since they take insurance. So in my situation I may be screwed over for this reason. I could go somewhere closer but they are all cash pay and I would never get the amount I paid back on my settlement because of this. Any words of wisdom would help since I know the amount I'm prescribed isn't that much but I beats being out of it all the time from morphine.

Not everyone is from out of state. And also not everyone wants the option of surgery. Not everyone is on government assistance. I had problems filling my medicine from pharmacy techs like you that think you know everything. Just do your job and let other people do theirs. Thank you.

Hey average person, I live in Georgia, my doc is in Georgia, and I still can't get my meds filled. So you are very correct there. I think it is very sad that a minimum wage pharm tech can play doctor. Just today I was lied to again by kroger. My friends mom filled hers, said they just got a shipment and 30 mins later I am denied. It's also sad that I have a history with some of the pharmacies lying to me. Nuns not that exact location but I am in the computer and they say no without even looking at this fact. Tomorrow I am taking my mri's and my handicapped tag in with me and telling them "before you say no have a look." Maybe I should be an ass to the person who can't walk at all and use the electric wheelchair even though I have trouble walking some days. I'm only 30 but I look 24 so I am sure that doesn't help any either. From what I was told last year if you are under 30 a lot of places won't fill the Meds and one doctors office let me go since I was six months from 30. The dea said if they are under 30 then nothing can possibly be wrong with them to be prescribed anything. So I'm sure the pharmacists see young male and just say no sadly even though I have never sold or abused one pill. Hell I am shipped the new Oxycontin and anyone who abuses oxy won't touch those. Now from the holiday weekend my Meds won't be here tomorrow and maybe not Friday so I pray I can atleast get my breakthrough Meds filled tomorrow.

To the dude named chris, first of all I make much more than minimum wage, 2nd of all, I work at a pharmacy as a tech because I'm a College student, not that it is a bad job, but it is much better than working at zaxby's, mcdonalds, or being a waiter like most college kids are stuck with. But I doubt you would know, with all that oxycontin and pain that your in your probably are in too much pain to work anyways. Though You probably never went to college anyways; so you wouldn't understand, I'm sure your the one that is going to be stuck with the minimum wage job for the rest of your life. I'm sure your familiar with the current minimum wage, though you might be to strung out on to many pay pills to work. But my pay rate is 11 dollars an hour, does that sound like minimum wage? It doesn't to me. And I'm not trying to play doctor at all, if i wanted to play doctor I wouldn't be working at a pharmacy, id be at a doctor's office. I was just giving y'all the heads up that nobody wants to fill a lot of narcotic prescriptions from pain clinics, the meds aren't out of stock or back ordered 95% of the time, they just aren't going to fill out of town prescriptions. It's simple, why the heck would one go to a doctors office out of state or ridiculously far away? to get prescriptions no one else will write them, its shady business, and border line legal/illegal. People who are suffering from terminal cancers and in Critical care units don't take as much narcotics as people who go to pain clinics

Well inside person, I went to college thank you very much. Also my doctor is not out of state. I live right outside Atlanta and my doc is one of the few that accepts any form of insurance including Medicaid which that pay nothing and most docs won't take it. Also 2 Oxycontin a day is strung out, Cmon man really. Most of the cash docs around here will write someone 150-180 pills per month I get 60 and that was my choice. This makes it where I have to wait to fill my gabapentin which helps tons when you have pinched nerves. You probably don't know what central canal stenosis is. It hurts a lot. Since Everytime you move your lower back is involved it hurts doing just about anything. I don't get to go to the UGA football games anymore or go on vacation because I can't sit in a car all day because of a drunl lady in a dodge RAM. Did I ask for the lady to run my car over, no. I almost avoided it but she didn't. So me being legit I get lied to for no reason. Oh they won't fill mine but they fill for tons of people who do nothing bit sell their Meds and don't even need them. So how does that work out. It's pretty sad that a 19 year old who I can tell sells everything can fill their Meds of 180 count to turn around and sell and the same pharmacy will tell me they don't have them and I'm 30 with a handicapped tag with my name on it and a 5 page mri report. Please explain that logic to me. Oh and 11 pee hour is not that much. I made that fresh out of high school but since I'm good in sales at 21 I made 70k selling timeshare in Florida. So assume what you will sir and if you read what I said right you would see I don't want out of state people here and don't even like that it goes on.

I'm from ky but I had to get a ga I'd. I get 120 a mo. And I use the same phar.every mo and not one time have they been out or turned me away.So it's the big numbers on the scripts cause 3 of us get our filled every mo. You have to be from that area and your doc has to be from there too.good luck people if you do find someone that fill them, don't tell anyone where you go.dont tell a soul

hahahahahah i dont know i dont take pain meds but i think physicians determine the diagnose and treat the disease and pharmacists make sure their are no allergic or drug interactions between other medicines or supplements they might be taking. Yes there are bad docs who do illegal things for money, and there are frustrated pharmacists who wont fill an Rx because they want to be the one to write the prescription, but pain pills isnt even on the radar in the field of pharmacology and/or disease (for the majority of professionals)

Either way, if it is the case, that means you go elsewhere

Hey JP it USED to be the pharmacists job to actually compound and mix and to check for interactions between drugs. There are very few pharmacists who compound anything anymore and the computer tells them if there is a possibility of an interaction. As someone who is young with alot of pain and who shares alot of similarities with Chris I too have been lied to multiple times by pharmcists who want to play doctor and judge and basically god. I too know of people who have nothing wrong that sell their meds that the pharmacist has no problem filling for but yet for some reason I have a heck of a time and encounter lies, rudeness and being treated like less of a person. Then there are the snotty techs like the guy on this post who have never had a day of real pain in his life who think he knows it all about who needs what. His argument about hospice patients not needing the amunt as someone who goes to a pain clinc is not valid for 2 reasons first is simply everyones body chemistry is different but the bigger reason is someone who goes to a pain clinic has probably dealt with pain for years where as a hospice patient or someone who is terminal is just that terminal and they have not had time to develop the same level of tolerance. Anyways I personally think being a pharmacist is one of the most overpaid under skilled jobs you can have as the computer checks for interactions and hardly any of them CAN compound. I would say they are glorified pill counters but they have guys like the Inside person count and do the work then they just sign their name.

Hey tommy, something I found out over the weekend is pretty sad. A pharmacist in my town who owned dunahoo drugs still has her license and she has been investigated numerous times. She threatened to arrest me saying I had forged my girlfriends prescription for soma. Of course I stood my ground and she didn't call the cops. Well in the paper it said in 06 she reported a pharmacy tech who stole over 20,000 narcotic pills over six months. Yet nobody was charged, arrested, and the pharmacy was still in business. On numerous occasions she filled for the same person, same Meds three days apart. She also walked infront of a moving cesna on a runway and got smashed. The pilot said she walked into her, her fiance said she was hit from behind. Then got a dui. Of course her fiance has money, she drives a 120k Mercedes of course. She had another investigation of suspicious activity on filling Meds for family members. Then another dui. And after six years finally had her license taken when she was charged with possession of 3 CII meds, 2 CIII and one CIV Meds. What is wrong with this picture. I have a three month old script that icant fill anywhere and for two months couldn't get into a new doc because I had to have the Meds in my system per the dea and the crackdowns. It doesn't matter I have script in hand I couldn't fill, but have to pass a drug test. All this crap makes me sick. Some days I can't walk because my lower back hurts so bad. Others I throw up all day because my neck hurts so bad. But hey nobody gives a crap right.

They say the dear is releasing 6bottles to all pharmacy to all the drug store and they only fill for who they want to. I have been to alt of them yesterday where i live they had them but refused to fill it. I lost my doctor he is in jail. So i have to find another one. All of this running around is not worth it no more.

If you have a good job you should have insurance and what you pharmacys do to some people is wrong not everyone is an addict and yes some people can get a month supply cause they cant go every 7 to 10 days and some of us on medicaid actually are hurt and need it and arent pharmacist that make good maney so we need help paying and what you dont know is most people that get pain meds dont have insuranve cause there doctors dont take it so hahaha you dont know what your talking about and i hope you need them one day and you get them and get addicted and then you will not be talking trash some pople no most people need there meds and you sitting here talking like everyone is a drug dealer and addict cause they are on meds well you will one day be on meds so when that day comes you will be eating your words and i hope they are harder to find for you cause you say the patients and doctors are wrong but i say the pharmacies are they dont know anyones medical history to say who does and doesnt need there meds but you guys play god and only fill for who you want and then charge extreme amounts for them and thats crazy how in the hell can a pharm charge 10 dols for a pill that was 1 dols well they do it cause they can and you pharmist are drug dealing yourself by what you charge to fill someone needed medicine and if they dont pay it they cant get them filled so you shouldnt talk s*** when you guys are the ones in the wrong

Inside Person - First I'd like to say I hope that college education helps you with your spelling and grammar. Second, I work in a pharmacy too. The pharmacies that are turning people away are basically telling people whatever they feel like saying. They'll tell a few they are out of em', then say we don't fill out of state scripts or just whatever. INSIDE PERSON is right, regardless of "legal dr wrote it" or you have level 10 pain " or "this is WRONG" etc etc etc, the pharmacist does not HAVE to fill ANYONE'S script if he doesn't feel it's ethical. It is up to him to decide using his professional judgement. Obviously, INSIDE PERSON has ZERO knowledge of Healthcare or the treatment of pain thru opioid medications. To assume that everyone coming into a pharmacy to fill an oxy prescription is a drug seeking junky is obsurd. I assure you, legitimate patients are being denied care simply because the DEA thinks this is the best answer. The DEA has sent memos basically saying WE STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU NOT FILL PRESCRIPTIONS FOR PAIN MEDS FROM PEOPLE THAT MEET THIS CRITERIA even though it descriminates and denies legitimate patients care. A pharmacist should "promote the good of every patient in a caring, compassionate, and confidential manner" but if he allowing the DEA to tell him how to do HIS job, there is no way he can comply with The Pharmacutical Code of Ethics. But like they say, it aint right but thats the way it is..." C.G Fayezen

So len, what kind of memos do they send out. The only reason I have had to go elsewhere is the two places I have a history with are really not getting them, I got to se the letter from mckesson. I'm hoping they have them this week as the memo they got said any a month six weeks ago. I have my 5 page mri work me, pharmacy report, handicapped tag, ct report, pretty much everything since I left a copy in the car after leaving my attorneys office for my settlement. Also my doc accepts insurance unlike 90% of clinics and a friend of mine I referred to my docs office and a cvs fills for him no problem and no he hasn't been going there very long. Of course I look younger than I am so sometimes I think that's it. Sadly most of them are lazy because it would take 5 minutes to verify all they would need but they don't want to which is really sad. I did not ask to be in pain and really wish I didn't because honestly it makes life pretty crappy because I don't enjoy doing thongs I like to do because it hurts. Now I can't get the less I need that actually work without killing my liver and last month had to pay $300 for 75 pills but I didn't have a choice, I had too much going on with my girls and didn't want to disappoint them.

Not all pain patients can "just have surgery - it's not always possible". Obviously you have a very negative attitude regarding all people needing this medication and could care less about why. I too uam furious about all of the out of staters and greedy doctors who wrote their scripts. This has been going on for quite some time. However the government is punishing those with legimitate medical needs. I live with severe pain every day of my life and from the sounds of things, more pain, withdrawals and back to the wheelchair bed. I don't want anyone's pity, I pray that the author could have a little compassion for those who have to live like this.

I can't believe some of the stuff coming from Inside Man or that pharmacies are turning people away. I personally have a different issue. I was injured in the military and put into a pain management program in TX (stationed there). I tried several medications like Fentanol, Morphine, Oxycontin, Hydrocodone, and finally Percocets. Ultimately I ended up being prescribed (60) 10 mg oxycontin, and (120) percocets 10/325 per month. These were the only Meds I could take and still function. Now I'm stuck in the VA system. The doctor immediately switched me to (180) 5/325 percocets. These are generic and don't quite do the job. I still hurt like hell even though I take (6) per day. I've considered switching to a private physician but I'm only insured by the VA. Therefore, I was considering going to a pain clinic in ATL living in (Huntsville, AL). I just want proper pain management. I'm reconsidering after reading this discussion. People should stop assuming everyone is dealing drugs or has bad intentions. It's not always like that for everyone.

Hi, I do not think that all the people from Florida are crazy. Question is as I just found out my dr can't write my scripts anymore they received a letter from the cbc I was told. Instead of stupid comments why not try and figure out what we can all do. I have been on pain meds for thirty five years. I have chronic pain 24/7. So now what r they telling us? This is our new medical plan to kill us when we worked so hard to enjoy our retirement years. I can't help it if I was injured many years ago and need these to help me function. I do not abuse them. Yes there r some but what about the people under Drs care and can't write the scripts. This is disgusting. The hospitals r going to be filled with people going through withdrawal, then what and the people making the rules they don't needs pain meds right now.

Your right! We are legitimate patients not druggies and we need to stop whispering "narcotics" or "opiates" its simply medicine! Not to change the subject but some pharmacies have crazy hoops to get syringes yet a diabetic could also be a heoin a ddict and use them so it can get confusing, a friend i ave take 2 benydryl and a beer and goes nuts, back in the fifites they used to eat aspirin with coca cola so why the fuss over our medication? Some folks can always find something to abuse. DEA needs to worry bout who they catch on the street and leave doctors alone.
