False Positive For Benzodiazepines (Page 7)

I have been testing positive for benzos and i cant figure out why. I have been taking suboxone & Ondansetron & promethazine. Thats it. If i fail another drug test, then my doctor is gonna kick me out. If anybody knows of any common substances, prescription or over the counter medications please inform me. Thanks

I am in a drug program I've been clean and i been taking tylenol 3 and ibuprofen and my program knows about it my last test came back positive for benzodiazepines does anyone know what could have caused this

I have been testing positive or close to positive for benzos and I don't take benzos and hate falling asleep. I've only taken my medication which is sertaline neurotin clonidine diclofenac singular symbacort omprazole and I use to take trazedone but I haven taken exedrine migrane and 5 hr energy shots at times can someone help explain y I'm testing positive

The Triliptal or oxcarbazipine is your culprit for the false- positive for benzodiazepines. Consult your physician please. There is information on this.

I have been on Suboxone, Zoloft, and synthroid for a year. I was passing every drug test fine, but the last two months I have tested positive for benzos. The ONLY thing I've taken different those last two months is phenegran/promethazine. My Dr. Shook his head that couldn't be it, but it HAS to be. I've taken nothing else! It is frustrating, however he says my labs come back clear of benzos once sent off. It's only the dipstick showing a positive for benzodiazepines. I'm convinced it has to be promethazine and I see a couple of you on here were also taking that when you tested positive. Ugghh.

Hi is that symbicort for asthma?? Cause I'm on that spray n I have had a positive result n there is no other reason for It to show positive is this true it could be that spray??

I took *bc fast pain Relief* Extra Strength Acetaminophen" & "menstrual pain relief " for my cramps which are really horrible to the point where i cant walk. I had to take a drug test yesterday and i was positive for benzos! Prior to taking my drug test & coming to this website I have never heard of benzos. May someone please inform why i am positive? I dont do any drugs at all so im mind boggled!

Have you been drinking energy drinks such as Monster on a daily basis by any chance? I am on a drug treatment program, and for months I kept coming up positive for benzo's on my urine drug screens and couldn't for the life of me figure out why. It had gotten to the point where I was begging my doctor to do blood work because I wasn't using anything like that. Finally after losing my carry doses, and a threat of being kicked out of the program they sent one of my positive urine screens off for more in depth testing. This is a test that can show exactly what brand of benzo is causing you to test positive. FINALLY this test came back from the second lab stating that I have ZERO benzo's in my system. From that point on 80% of every urine screen I do comes back positive in the first screen, but never the second. The only thing we can come up with for causing this false positive is energy drinks. I drink Monster energy drinks almost every day (1 can), and this has to be the culprit. If you are absolutely positive that you aren't taking benzo's then don't let yourself be kicked out of your program. Make them send your positive test on to another lab for more in depth screening.

I went to my pain doctor yesterday I tested positive for valium I take oxycodone, oxytocin, and clonazepam. I don't understand how I could test positive for valium and haven't taken any

Those 5 hour energy shots could be the culprit...... I have found out that drinking Monster energy drinks had been causing my urine screens to come back positive for benzo's. When they come back positive my clinic now sends them off for further testing to see exactly what benzo it is, and it ALWAYS comes back saying NO benzo's detected. The only medications I ever take on a daily basis is my methadone dose so the energy drinks are definitely the culprit....

I just tested positive for benzos and i havent taken any in over as year,im at a clean house and will go back to jail if found that i wasent given any bezaos at the dentist office. I just had 9 teeth and some jaw bone taken out of my face three days ago, they gave me oxy cododne 10-325mg im also on soboxone,neurontin,welbutrin,and tylonol,thats it, there going to check with my dentist tomorow and if he diddent give me any benzos im going to jail for a year!! im scared i dont want to go back to jail for somthing i diddent do, please if anyone has anything ,let me know...i dont know what it could be!!!!

If you get a false positive - you know you didn't take anything you shouldn't have taken - request they send the results to a hospital lab for further confirmation. They did this for me and confirmed their test was incorrect. Thank Goodness!
