False Positive For Benzodiazepines (Page 6)

I have been testing positive for benzos and i cant figure out why. I have been taking suboxone & Ondansetron & promethazine. Thats it. If i fail another drug test, then my doctor is gonna kick me out. If anybody knows of any common substances, prescription or over the counter medications please inform me. Thanks

Kinda diff. topic but I had a false positive for "morphine" when on straight "naloxone" this was before Subs came out. I was in a program they UA'd me - either they made it up or test was accurate. Crazy I know but I got kicked out of a 12 month residential program that their shrink/ Dr. friggin put me on!

Postive for benzodiazepines but don't take them. I take adderall and topomax that's it. Why this is a problem. Two urine test both instant test. Like home test. Recently started using e cig that has an oil that's used in it. It contains herbal extract? Maybe that. Help.

You mentioned you are taking Prozac. Prozac and other SSRIs like Zoloft and Wellbutrin can cause a false positive for benzo's on drug tests.

Trazodone does give a false-positive for benzos and this comes from this site and Mayo Clinic. Please stay on the path of recovery my friend. It is a much better life than an addicts life on dope. Prayers for you in your recovery, Paul

Would zofran cause a false positive FOR Benzos? Or levothyroxine, visteral , zofran , pepcid, zantac, in profin , advil,or allergy meds like zyrtek claritin benadryl??

I work in a rehab facility and test people every day. Gabapentin will make you test positive for benzos every time.

I have been testing positive for benzos. I take Naltrexone 500mg,lithium carbonat 300 mg.,tregretol 20 mg.,Prozac 20 mg and trazadone 100mg.is anyone of these drugs causing me to have a false positive.

I too got discharged today from my clinic. Apparently it is the Benadryl that caused a false positive. I need to know how I can prove this because they surely don't believe us drug addicts!

Congratulations on your sobriety niele I'm really happy for you its hard to stay clean I've been clean for a long time but I am still on methadone I'll be off of it soon thank god I guess I am tired of that life and want to do so much more

I take gabapentin and have been testing positive for benzos for one month now. Dr. Is going to terminate if it keeps happening. I haven't done anything wrong but am going to stop the gabapentin.

yes the Benedryl may be the cause almost sure

I tested positive for benzo which I do not take. The only medication I am on is Methadone, Lamictal, and Chlorpromazine which is Thorzine. Does any of these come up as a benzo on urin test? Please someone help I'm banging my head Googling it and I get nothing. Thank you

The lab can break it down to show exactly what it is. But it will probably be at your expense. Guilty to proven innocent...You can demand it take it to the top, at least try. But yeah labs can break it down using a mass spectrometer but when just doing a basic drug screen they don't use the mass spec it's to expensive.
