False Positive For Methamphetamine On Drug Test (Page 6)

I took a urine drug test for my job and they said it came back positive for methamphetamine, but I dont use methamphetamine. I've just been real sick the whole week before and took a lot of diff. meds to break da fevers and my bad cough. What could have caused it to come up positive?

I was sick last night. I was full like I had to throw up so I took a promethazine and the rest of my medication. The next day I went to my dr. appiontment and took a urine test and it came back positive for methamphetamine.

Trazadone gave me a positive for methamphetamine... VERY frustrating when the Dr. doesn't believe you. BUT!! Sending the sample to the lab justified my case.

I went to the dr and I had to take a drug test this happen to me for the first time and the dr told me that my test came back positive for methamphetamine and this was in 2012 and the dr told she couldn't see me any more so I had to find another dr. Well the same thing happened again but they sent my test off. It was a false and the dr is still seeing me. This happened on 6/23/2015 but God is good all the time.

I tried the baking soda detox few hours before random drug testing. I followed all steps 3times before i went testing. My drug screen was instant 9panel test. Im wondering sud it actually work because i have to wait until my boss contacts me soon. Can baking soda be detected in a 9panel instant drug screening? What can cause a false Hydrocodone urine test? My fiancé's daughter is in foster care due to her mother dieing of overdose and we are fighting for her and they just tested him and they said he was 133 nanograms of hydrocodone in him and he didn't take none. Please help!!! His daughter's future depends on proving he's innocent. They want to terminate his rights.

I was positive for norrotine. I don't really know how to spell it but I have not took any. Also one time for Methamphetamine and never had any of that...any answers?

Just an FYI - Unfortunately, I have to live with pain, constantly, so due to the legal changes (in order to Crack down on doctor shopping and abuse of medications - in Texas, not sure if this passed country wide) I have to go to the doctor every 30 days (can no longer give more than a 1 month supply) and usually have to provide a UA each visit. I am pretty straight laced and the hardest "drug" I've ever tried was pot and that was in the 90's (yep, I'm THAT person, HAHA). Anyway, I kept getting told that my UA's were coming back positive for CRACK (I about fell out, each time it happened). I told them to test my hair, or whatever they needed to prove I had NEVER taken that stuff. This went on for something like 5 or 6 months. Finally, the doctor figured out what, exactly, was causing these false positives - - - it was over the counter ranitidine (used to treat and prevent ulcers). Not sure that helps, but it was one of those, "are you kidding me" - wouldn't believe it if it hadn't happened to me, moments.

I just tested positive for methamphetamine but do not use illicit drugs. I drive a truck so im out of work. I use a vicks inhaler u get over the counter. Will this cause a false positive fot methamphetamine? Thanks

I WAS TOLD BY ACTUALLY TWO DIFFERENT MEDICAL DOCTORS THAT VICKS SALVE WHICH I UNDERSTAND THAT IS VICKS VAPOR RUB OR WHAT EVER THE BOTTLE SAYS BUT ANYWAY... TWO DOC'S SAY THIS CAN CAUSE A POSITIVE METHAMPHETAMINE DRUG SCREEN.

I know when I hAve 2 take a ua for the pain clinic, and have taken benadyl within 24 hours, it pops up as a false positive. . Hope this helps!

I currently take 8mg Dilaudid 2x a day and 1 time release Dilaudid a day and I take Adderall (not time release ) 30mg 2x a day. I take Tylenol Arthritis or Naprosyn as needed sometimes too

This same thing happened to me, I just found out about it being in my records, even though it happened almost 6 weeks ago. (This was a pregnancy urine test). I also found out my doctor had my sample frozen and that he wrote in my chart that I abused drugs. Aside from smoking, I have never done drugs and haven't even had alcohol (I simply don't like the taste) in over a year and a half. I shared a joint in high school with some kids but that was 16 years ago. I am hoping they still have my sample because during my appointment on Tuesday I had planned to confront him. I was reading the website information from a company similar to this one and they explained how a certain ppm number of the l (or i) will be vicks vapo inhaler (which I Have used) and a certain balance and level of the other kind (p or d) is indicative of actual methamphetamine usage. However, none of those tests were done on my sample. So, hopefully, I am able to clear my name and get that "drug abuser" thing off my chart.

I am also in the same situation as everyone else. I am a 44 yr. old woman, never see or touched any illegal drugs in my life, but just tested positive for marijuana. On 1/25/16 I was hair drug tested for a job, the manager cut my hair, put it in a bag, then I was told come to work a week later on 02/01/16. I did. 3.5 hours later I was fired due to a positive test for Marijuana. I have never seen, used or touched any drugs in my life. I am on 325 mg Hydrocodone (prescribed by my Fam. Physician, got 20 pills back in 11/2015 I still have 10 pills left), I am also taking 600 mg Motrin “occasionally” for Fibromyalgia, RA also for Migraines, I was also on 20 pills of Antibiotics prior to my drug test for a cyst over the central incisors, I am on daily Levothyroxine, I also took about 6 dissolvable SAMBUCOL (Black Elderberry) for flu symptoms. I drink green teas and Echinacea/Chamomile tea few times a week. I told the employer that I never used any illegal drugs in my life, all he said a MRO will call me and give him the list of my meds. Never got the call so I called him, but when I tried to give him the list of my meds all he said was: "you tested positive for Marijuana, when was the last time you used Marijuana?" I told him that I never used any drugs in my life! He did not care what I was saying because it was not what he wanted to hear which is when I used Marijuana. I felt violated, falsely accused and hurt. I did request a copy of the test result, he told me the employer have a copy of it. I called the employer and told him the conversation between me and the MRO and I ask him for a copy. He told me he has no copy of it. When I told him the MRO told me he has a copy he then said “I can't give you a copy”! He told me I need to call the Headquarters and ask for Amanda to obtain a copy. I called but I talk to someone else she told me she will give the message to her and will get back with me. This was on Friday so Monday someone other than Amanda called me and told me that they are not giving a copy to anyone. I told her by State and Federal law if I ask for a copy they have to give me one. Just like the MRO and the D. manager she refused to give me a copy of my positive drug test. I called the District Manager back and ask him how I could get a copy so my doctor could look at it and give me an explanation. I got an answer I was not expecting. The D. Manager then told me that “I need to be careful because my husband also works for this company” (My husband is the chef since 1986 in the same cafeteria where I applied). I took it as a threat and left it alone. We can’t afford him to get fired! I have all the conversations with all of these people recorded so I can prove all what was said. I worked for 3.5 hours that day I was never paid. My husband keep telling me how mean the D.M. is with him ever since, the entries he cooks every day were cut down, so we know they will cut his hours and eventually fire him or as they will say “eliminate his position”. In the meantime my doctor also requested a copy for medical purposes but they are not getting it either. By the way I was tested by my doctor and so was my 20 year old son and we both were negative. I would appreciate an honest response. Thank you.
