False Positive For Oxazepam

Hello there. I am showing up positive for oxazepam and I had never heard of it before now. I take Lamictal, Lyrica, Neurontin, Clonidine, Potassium, loratadine, 800 mg ibuprofen, Magnesium, Vitamin D, and a multivitamin. Anybody know why? I'm thankful for any help :)

Hi Tammy,

Many of the drugs you mentioned are known to cause a number of different false-positives for various medications; however I cannot locate any definitive statements on whether or not they may show up as Oxazepam.

Although, on the cheaper, less reliable tests, it seems anything is possible. False positives are known to occur on them anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time. So the possibility that one or more of those medications could show up as Oxazepam doesn't surprise me that much.

I just was looking through my pain profile. I am on Neurontin, prednisone, ibuprofen, cyclobenzaprine, Norco and different over-the-counter cough medicines - So I tested positive for this drug also and I have no idea what it is? I've been in the emergency room a few times and I think maybe they skipped the drug that I was on. Can you please help me? I am on Medicaid and no lawyers or anybody of any significance will call me back or help me because I'm poor.

Your Gabapentin/Neurontin will trigger it but I'm not sure why or how yet... I am at a clinic where I am prescribed gabapentin and methadone. I was given a U/A by my counselor that came up as oxazepam. Why? How? Please help.
