Fentanyl Is Evil!!!!

I have chronic back pain as well, and I have taken every opiate known to man. I was on 100mcgs of Fentanyl, Norcos, and Valium at the same time! What worked for me the best was getting off everything and taking anti-inflammatories. What happens is that your body and brain become addicted to the drugs and your brain sends out a false sense of pain to your body. Besides, the withdrawal symtoms (addicted or not) are WORSE THAN HEROIN! Trust me! I now have very low back pain through exercising and anti-inflammatories. FENTANYL WILL KILL YOU! STOP TAKING IT!

Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic pain reliever and, while it can cause the problems you experienced, it doesn't do so to everyone that uses it.

The same applies to other narcotics and most other medications. Your body does get used to all of them, eventually and you will need dosage adjustments or a switch to a different medication.

Whether, you like it or not physical dependence comes from a heavy narcotic like fentanyl! I was not yet an addict unlit I was on it! I know that physical dependence and addiction are two different things, but the withdrawals are the same no matter what! All I am saying is that people do not need this DRUG to live their life!

I know this post is a couple of months behind the others but I totally agree that the Fentanyl patch is EVIL and it's harder to come off of than Vicodin or Percocet!! I was on 75's along with taking 12-15 Vicodin/day for back and knee pain for almost four years, I also started drinking a few beers each night which didn't help. I stopped cold turkey with the Vicodin but had to be weened off the patches. I just took off my last 12mcg today and I feel all my pain but I also feel a little shaky and light headed, not to mention I can't sleep. I will see my doc in a couple of weeks to figure out where we go from here. He stated something about a Pain Clinic when we discussed weening off the patches but I'm afraid they will just pump me with more Vicodin:(. Good luck to all on the patches.
