Effient Side Effects

I have recently had lots of anal bleeding, headaches, blood in nose. Today I called my doctor and he advised me to stop taking the effient and aspirin. He has given me a prescription for plavix today. This is a scary drug for me...

Plavix contains Clopidogrel, which works a little differently, rather than thinning the blood to cause bleeding, it just inhibits clotting. That means you still need to be careful not to injure yourself, but there is less chance of the random bleeding like you were experiencing.

I have opted out of all the drugs that the cardiologist prescribed. I am now being treated by a naturalpathic doctor. Its much better and I'm no longer sick. The drugs were doing more damage than the heart attack!

How long were you on effient before you got off? I had two massive heart attacks with damage and with the first heart attack they put me on Plavix as a stent was placed in the LAD. 3 weeks later on 2/24/2013..another blood clot and I coded. Placed another stent in the first stent and placed me on effient. In heart failure now. My feet and legs are so swollen and splitting. I also itch. Effient can casue peripheral edema. I do not think my cardio is concerned. I know he said I will be on Efient for 15 months and then back on Plavix...I want off this drug but scared to death. I had no problem with Plavix except another heart attack. I personally think the first Cardio placed a wrong size stent in me thus causing another heart attack and it was not the Plavix...

I was wondering how long you have to stay on Effient after a stints put in? some say you only take those for 6 mnths after the stent. Ive been on Effient for 3 yrs now and also take an 81mg of aspirin. some times I ache and bruise easily and other times I dont.Im trying to scale down on rx. I quit taking my statin drug because a dr said to never perscribe statin drug to wmen, only men over 65.
