Dutas-t (dutasteride And Tamsulosin)

Updated

I am 74 years old and I experienced difficulty urinating three years ago. For the last six months, I have been taking Dutas-T and now I am okay. I urinate either not at all or once in the night without any trouble. Should I stop taking Dutas-T? Is it harmful to take it for a long time?

Dutas T contains Dutasteride, which can cause prostate cancer. Additionally, because Dutas T can mask urinary symptoms, the detection of cancer can be delayed. Please consult with your urologist about this. If the benefits outweigh the side effects, then you can continue with Dutas T.

I am 67 years old & have been prescribed Dutas t for 6 months, daily one dose at night for treating BPH. Is this tablet a steroid. Dr told me its harmless but from Internet I understand it has high risk of side effects. What is the percentage of risk? Is this drug a Steroid?

I have an enlarged prostate (wt 54 gm). Dr advised me Dutas-T. How long do I have to take this and what are the possible side effects? I am 65, diabetic and have hypertension.

I am 76 yrs male using Dutas T for the last 10 yrs and am quite comfortable with it - no uncontrollable urge to urinate, no getting up at night frequently. I go for PSA tests almost every year. I am however not sure if I have to continue using Dutas T life-long?

I am 76 years old and my gland size has been reduced from 125 mg to 110 mg within six months of taking Dutus-T every night. My urination feels almost normal now; I only go about three to four times during the night. I am a diabetic patient and I would like to continue taking Dutus-T for life. Is there any risk to any part of my body? If so, what are the checkpoints that need to be verified periodically? Kindly update me so I can be less worried. If there are any extra precautions that can be taken in advance, please suggest them.
