They tested for Bupe specifically? Saliva swabs are generally junk. They don't test or read accurately, even when sent to a lab. I had the luck of taking two mgs sublingualy before an oral swab, it said i had enough to kill me, my doctor wrote a four page letter explaining that unless this agency knew how to properly administer and accurately read the results they shouldnt even administer in the first place.

He also explained the only way an oral swab would come close to reading anything taken sublingualy, especially levels, would be to wait 24 hours after the last dose to test. He also advised anyone wishing to administer potentially faulty drug testing procedures should stick to ways that won't possibly ruin someone's life and use only blood, the only guaranteed way.

I am going to a pain management clinic in two days. I took a small piece of suboxone to help with pain but I'm not prescribed it. I know they do urine test but do they test for bupe?

Not true, i thought it was a separate test, just started probation...all on the cup, failed forsuboxone

You failed for bupe?
Was it a lab test, or a cup test in the p.o office?
it could also be a higher panel if you're testing in the probation office.

Dude I have been telling people on here for two years that my local district court house tests for it and NO ONE believes me.

In response to the last post:
*Drug court almost always tests for it.

*Only some probation depts have already started the new panel cup that specifically tests for suboxone. For example my Southern District court now utilizes this product whether for Drug Court or probation. While the Northern Municipal court, within the same county, does not. I haven't been on paper for years and was randomly tested at a review hearing.

Basically the point is, no drug is secret long and they eventually catch on. I imagine since it's no longer a separate more expensive test only done in labs....obviously. .. It'll be coming to every department and agency, probably incorporated in all pre employment testing as well.

Maryland DOC tests for suboxone in all phases of it's judicial system and welfare agencies. They've been testing for years.

Hope sound advice derived from studied reading and PERSONAL EXPERIENCE helps someone. It's much more logical to accept answers other than the ones people want to hear.

Suzy,I'm confused are you supposed to have suboxone in your system or no? What are you testing for, pain management for another medication?

Please be precise so we can offer accurate advice and information: )

The last time you took subs was 17 days before your test? If so then you have no worries.

But did you have your medication in your system for doctor's appt, they test levels now too..

Everyone needs to understand that these questions really cannot be answered. Every place (employer, probation, pain management doctors etc) all use different tests and every state is different. I'm in new york and my bf always passes his drug test for felony probtion and he has suboxone in his system.

Yeah..I've been on these boards for two years now, I'm well aware of what a hypothetical answer to a probation specific question would be. THAT being addressed, her direct question HAS a DIRECT answer. If she took a one time dose of suboxone over 17 days ago, the PRECISE ANSWER is NO IT WILL NOT SHOW.

As for more probation/parole specifications just search the keywords "suboxone and probation" on here and you'll find another board I frequent devoted to debating the fact that, exactly as you stated, suboxone is tested in some depts/districts and not in others. The only state i know that does mandatory testing in ALL phases of their judicial system is Maryland, they have for years. The rise in emergency room visits, possession charges and other crimes related to suboxone are driving every probation dept, drug court, welfare and I imagine eventually all standard pre employment to test as well. The only reason SOME haven't failed it in a specific court test is i guarantee, nothing but a formality of wholesale providers and tax or funding purposes. In my rinky dink home town, my district didn't test for it one month and the next month it was included in their panel listings.

So yes is the ultimate answer. If it's not yet it will be soon making your guess work null and void and my answer based on both hours of educated research and then personal experience the voice of reason.

Utilize this mass spectrum of information called the internet people, it will work wonders on your knowledge of things, don't just pull answers out of a hat. Being uneducated about something and thinking you're smart is usually enough to get you or those you're trying to help in trouble.

Yes suboxone has a mean half life, I'll break down in simpler terms below! I replied to the other ladies nonsense below and my post to her is under review lol.

But bupe breaks down like this.

Today you took 4 mgs, three days from now you'll have two. Three more days you'll have one, so on and so forth but is measured in ng not mg. Also some pain management clinics test for it but most don't unless they prescribe it and want to make sure patients have it in their system. But you will be fine, seventeen days is plenty long enough, especially for a one time dose, if you had been on for a long time etc it would've built up but you obviously did not so this is of no worry to you.

I only know these things by being interested and curious about the drug tjat gave my life back. I've read the clinical trial information, i have a trustworthy and understanding doctor that's more than happy to answer my questions and I read...A LOT. I select my information online only after verifying sources and credibility so as not to just take random people's opinions as facts. So in short I wouldn't state a for sure response if I wasn't sure the information I'm giving is correct. I've been in most of these positions myself and understand how the worry and fright effects you.

You'll be fine :)

thank you ash! I just didnt want to go on my next app and be surprised when my dr says you failed your drug test. this has scared me enough to never let this happen again. and just to say I was thrown out of a car broke my back, mr ribs was crushed. broken collar bone, punctured my lungs. so I did die many times because of bleeding inside. the drs told me they lost count how many times they had to restart my heart. so its my back that they have tried to fix with 3 surgery nothing has worked so just wanted to throw that out there that there is a reason i am in a pain clinic for the past 13y. tks for info.

I don't know if its the naloxone making me sick or what but I had to be rushed to the ER the other night and was told I had Ulcerative Colitis after an endoscopy and colonoscopy and told that I should ask my Dr. to prescribe Subutex since Naloxone was more than likely causing these severe stomach pains, staying up on the toilet all night because of extreme gas pains, nausea, etc.. I am a bit afraid to asks the Dr. that prescribes the Subs to change me over..Anyone else have problems like that. I also keep a feeling in my stomach like someone has punched me in it that burns constantly and it's making me eat more but not really helping the stomach pain..I meant to add that in when I posted the rest of my problems and just very sick at my stomach all of the time since Suboxone..I was on Subutex when they hospitalized me at first for opiate abuse and changed over to suboxone, well the Dr. changed it but didn't have stomach probs on the Subutex (white pills.. 8 mg.'s)
