Doctors In Michigan That Prescribe Methadone (Page 33)

I'm interested in finding a private doctor's office (not a clinic) that will prescribe methadone. I can't afford these clinics! Does anyone know of a doctor???

I can totally relate with what u are going thru because the exact same thing happened to me.They excepted me as a patient then afterwards told me they would not treat my pain with that medication, they offer me no help with the fact that i will go thru horrible withdrawel, i have literally begged for help even tho they also state i need pain meds for severe chronic pain.... i am scared to death as to what to do now

Bad idea, giving the Dr.'s name like that. Might just get the Dr. unwanted attention from DEA. It's illegal for him to prescribe Methadone just for addiction. If you have legitimate pain issues then he can legally prescribe. Whether you have an addiction or not do the doctor a favor and never say that in public if you want help from a doctor. There ARE doctors who will help you but try to be discreet. (Info. for the future is all, meaning simply that only ever talk about addiction anywhere (publicly at least) other than with your doctor. Discretion is important if you want a doctor to help you and risk his license. I've had my prescription for 4 years. A doctor told me essentially the same thing. Just a friendly tip.

I Am from flint mi and go to a clinic called bio med. There is another one down the street called sacred heart and these two both take Medicaid. But they don't accept mmmp card so i can't get take homes because of that.

The dr at bio med is named dr. McCarroll. He also has a clinic near Detroit. Use to be in Clinton township but i think they moved it to south gate or something.

What's wrong with recovery unlimited.
They rock. And accept MMMP card.
I love Flint. I'd rather drive 130 miles round trip once a month than go to the OVER priced clinic in Ann Arbor. They think cuz they're the only game in town they can gouge people. And people let them.

BioMed Clinton Twp moved 3 miles south, still on Gratiot, but in Roseville and on the opposite side of the street, just north of 13Mile Road.

My situation is different. I take methadone for pain. I was discharged from my pain clinic because of missed appts. They did not give me a new script n i cant see a new dr until 7-13. Is there a dr by farmington hills mi that i can get a script until then?

Jessica, Get thee to a pain or methadone clinic as soon as possible!! like yesterday. You don't say your dosage but you are finding out about now- literally- you need methadone. You are gonna be sick. I see you fail to call and re schedule appointments. Big no no in the medical world. Obviously, the Dr. is punishing you for that. Even so, he's a jerk for not refilling your methadone rx. Personally. I feel it is not for controlling pain, it is meant for opiate addiction. I will be on it for life for that reason (been on it for 20 years now). Please, get off the methadone and find a different med. Otherwise, if you stay on opiates, chances are you will be needing methadone. It can be a very dangerous drug if not used correctly. Good Luck to you, Jessica. FYI- a clinic is the quickest route for you to avoid any sickness. if you don't, you will regret it. The longer you delay the sicker you will be.

Hi Roger- You don't say where you live, but I'm more than happy to help you find a clinic in Michigan. You can go online. Google methadone clinics Michigan, and then you will see lists pertaining to each state. Use the STATE site. They are current and of course call the clinic to verify all info is correct and current. In SE Michigan, I highly recommend Recovery Unlimited in Flint, Michigan. it is 65 miles 1 way for me, I go once a month, and worth it. Even though there is a closer clinic to me. R. U. is a private clinic. In my opinion, private clinic is the only way as they honor MMMP cards. Good luck to you and your wife, Roger.

Is there a start up cost at this clinic ?I would love to know more about it. I lived up north in gaylord, there was no clinic at that time but was perscribed for severe chronic pain. Moved to newaygo, mi and could not see new dr. until they got my records. They accep-ted me as a patient knowing i was on this med, then told me they would not perscribe that type of med and wrote a script for vicodin. They did nothing for me so i didnt take and when my blood came back w/o vicodin and had methadone i was then flagged. I told them to please help me detox if they wont perscribe, they dont. I have been on methadone for MANY years and am terrified of wd.

I am P450 and have intractable pain that can kill. Unfortunately, and I know a lot of former addicts frequent this post. The government is causing MASSIVE shortages on opioids we used to receive for long acting pain control--I can die from progression to Central Pain Syndrome.

Methadone was created under Hitler and one of his high paid scientists due to shortage of poppy back in the war days. They allowed the patent to lapse (it was purchased by drug companies in America right off) due to the high physical tolerance that evolves within 24 hours.

For a former opiate addict Methadone can be used daily depending on your habit. For pain patients we must take it every 4 hours; our government has the CDC and FDA putting out low morphine equivalent regulations causing our pain physicians not to write-millions are losing doctors and dying on the streets. As a high level health care professional I SAVE pain patients who are suddenly cut off by Methadone clinics. They will tell a pain patient you are not an addict well I tell that pain patient to say "I will be in another 24 hours if you do not help me." WE ARE DYING people until we get a new president and our Constitutional rights are returned America might as well be taken over by the terrorists. This is what D.C. looks like right now for us as a group ok?

Methadone has a very slow liver pass. It is only safe to increase it weekly. Unfortunately for high level addicts going in if your habit is high ($300 to $800 a day) 20 mg. Methadone may not fix it but you won't be as dope sick. For a pain patient drugs like Duragesic is equivalent to Methadone in DEATH DUE TO SUDDEN withdrawal. You cannot safely stop Methadone without a taper of months to years in some cases.
