Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 87)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Anonymous..don't stress on it. Every post was a positive reflection on CPR until recently when they made a really bad medical/business decision. Any on here who is blatantly drug seeking is met with alot of "wrong forum for you". You thought you were doing the right thing (I was tempted myself to tell Joe how i found them but he didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy so I didn't). Your intentions were in the right place and I do not believe there changes as of late are any reflection of this site.

I am in IT and I will take this moment to remind everyone, email, texts, chatrooms, forum posts...all of it...is not private in the true sense of the word. So just be careful of the written word...always!! But there's nothing any of us regulars have anything to be ashamed of. We're all living with chronic pain day to day and trying to live some semblance of a "normal life". If your goal is to be high, getting on daily pain meds will provide you with just the opposite..but the true drug seekers make our lives hell and worse yet, causes some law-abiding citizens to turn to the streets and pay exorbitantly high prices for pills and then guess what.....they can't find pills so they turn to H, first smoking it and then using it intravenously (after swearing they never would) and from there it's jail or death. I am not exaggerating..having just gotten 3 children through high school in as many years, the little boys and girls I saw grow up are now abusing meds, in and out of rehab and/or jail and wasting some of the best years of their lives!! I know of some soccer Moms whose path to destruction started because they couldn't get treatment for valid chronic pain. Trust me, the drug seekers will mess up (usually on their UAs) and they almost always get caught.

Be honest, follow your pain contracts to the letter, try to be patient (so hard when you can't function) use this forum to share info, and may you get the help you need.

These 8mg dilaudid tablets seem to work ok compared to the oxynorm 20mg 2x per day do you think I should go back to the oxynorm and not swap to dilaudid/hydromorphone 8mg 2 x per day ?

Can someone give me the info to contact SAS, the number on Google is disconnected :(

I am currently a patient at CPR but if SAS takes insurance, it would help me greatly.

Fuzzy...go to About the Community (in blue..on the right hand side or way at the bottom), click on that and then look for the link Contact Form (again in blue)..fill them out requesting private communication with Lucy. We both need to do this to get access to each others emails. I'll do that now..as soon as they receive both our requests, we can email privately and i'd be happy to help.

Tammy, I am replying to your post that asks why CPR won't let clients who receive more than 3 a day continue to fill at their regular pharmacy?
The answer to that is "THEN THEY WOULDN'T RECEIVE THE KICKBACK!"

Mac start looking for a back up, someone reported CPR to Dea .Wich is making people panic and flood to SAS .Someone from Cpr called someone hire up letting them know all the patients leaving to the new pill mill SAS .That's not good now both clinic are going to be on watch and one not a pain clinic .And from what everyone saying sas is great people need to shut up .

Lucy & Tammy2, when I asked him if he was ever in chronic pain, he said he dad a neck injury from a car accident, nothing about war. I know this person is bad news, Leonard and Amanda are going to be very sorry they took him on. Amanda's got that new car she has to make payments on and Leonard needs the clinic to get girls! Mac, when Charles wrote on your script "do not fill" did you notice if he messed with the date at the same time. Since he is bragging that he will get rid of anyone causing him problems, I would not put it past him!

Has anyone told the Smiths? However, I had to go back there because what I was taking was making me extremely I'll... Mr. Smith did a VERY thorough exam and we changed my med. BUT, he was very careful to follow the proper guidelines about a 2nd med. People at CPR can TRY to make problems for this family, but I don't think they'll succeed. The Smiths are SMART, compassionate people. I really dislike when people run their mouths about situations in which they have no idea! I appreciate Anonymous telling us about this! Thank you!!!

Wendy are you saying find a backup besides the smiths? AND PEOPLE, PLEASE STOP SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT THIS PLACE!!!!! Is going to end up getting shut down with all the junkies from cpr flooding over there. I refuse to let the best, kindest doctors I have ever seen be out into the s*** because junkies are flocking. PLEASE!!!!! JUST LEAVE THEM OFF HERE

You might try a pain clinic or hospital or Board of medicine to inquire about having needed pain medication prescribed for you. All these new rules about abuse have made a lot of Doctors shy away from prescribing certain drugs. Call your state rep and complain. Might help...

Sorry mac I've been very sick .Someone at Cpr leak info to have SAS check as a pain clinic .I know because my pharmacist roomate warned me to find new place soon .Cpr lost a lot of people to Smiths.Someone not happy losing 180 a pop .The Smiths aren't MD, their fnd, family practice not pain control .Mr Smith just found out all of his new pts are all coming from Cpr pain control ,.Cpr is well know to all doctors as a pill mill .That's why pharmacy won't fill your per scriptions.

I had 5+ prescriptions my first visit to The Smiths, my pharmacy didn't question it since they (well, the narcotics I've taken less than a year) are things I've taken a while now.

I only went to CPR for a few months but had 2 years of records (plus MRI's, scans, surgical notes, etc with me when I had my first visit at Smiths (I'm not wanting to call their office by name---I think we should stop) so that also might be why they were less suspicious

Also Leonard made borderline sexual harassment remarks to me on several occasions and I used to have anxiety so bad that when he would take my BP that it was always like 20-40 points higher than normal...like 160/115. I never felt like the doctor cared, especially that Dr. Malgram (can't remember exactly)

CPR's website is down too I noticed. How long have the smiths been there?

Hi! Niki... As for this crazy controversy, why do people have to ruin things for everyone?? I still think it was the person that was posting before... She hasn't been back in a while. This makes me angry because the Smiths are such good people... And not judgmental... And they LISTEN... Wow, just wow!

I have never had a problem filling my scripts. I use RiteAid in Littleton and they've been great for years! For a short time, I was uninsured so I went to Costco (by far the cheapest in town) but they needed to call and verify if the qty was above a certain limit so sometimes I would have to wait a day but rarely.

I am sure cpr took their site down because of the fact it had dr. May as the doc and he quit NOT FIRED and NOT IN TROUBLE. Cpr wasn't a pill mill but started all this mail pharmacy thing and the guy Charles who owns the pharmacy is a you know what. That's why they lost patients period so that is on cpr and Amanda and Leonard need to keep their mind on their own business instead of making fake claims to the dea about other docs.

What do you mean their cutting you down ? Doctor S told us he has a perfect record with Dea and it's public record .They been in bus 15 yrs as family practice. What I mean by pill mill is a clinic that only takes cash and gives you what you ask for .They shut down 127 in Florida .That is a pill mill Lucy that is why normal doctor look at patients from their as over medicated or junkies not my words other Doctors .
