Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 86)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Tammy ; hello you - I read your message, and I am dealing with the same Pain Med Issue's as you are. I as well have your medical issue's and can not find a DR. , who will give me the " Narcotic " meds., that I need. But what I need you to know RIGHT NOW is: Do NOT just get these inj's., DO NOT !!!! go on line and look those up , besides that I had them , as well as a Spinal Cord Stimulator , plus a Pain Pump Trial (nothing worked for me), But those inj's. have very bad side effects - one of them I had to experience - they can cause a VERY bad infection , and dissolve your bones !!!! My right Ball Joint (r-hip) and more , were dissolved , and I had to have a total reconstructive Bone loss surgery done , and since they were not able to " repair " all of it , the way it was , I now have a right leg , which is 1 1/2 inches shorter than the other leg ! Watch out - go on line , (I did after it was to late for me), there are so many , who have had the same thing happen to them - the DR's just do not tell you about all of that , watch out - get more Info 1st , and make sure , that your research , includes Steroids (which are part of those inj's.) , please !! Trust me , being crippled is no fun either , and will just add to your misery !!

Wendy I do and that's why I said thank you for asking your roommate. And I know it's not going that far it just stresses me out thinking about trying to fill my scripts and getting shut down. But I guess we will just have to see. But Tam I think we should just do emails. I have multiple peoples' now and they have mine so maybe they grab some more peoples' and you do as well. And they wouldn't be able to get our emails because both parties have to ask the site owners.

Rainbow flowers... If, for some reason, CPR got a hold of this page, there is NOTHING on here that is illegal in ANY way. That's one of the reasons I started reading what you all wrote: it's not about how to get large quantities of some drug or how to get the "best high"... You all have just shared info for "real" people. You all are legitimate patients with legitimate paperwork and no one is trying to break any laws. No one is doing ANYTHING wrong.

Mac I had shared with u my experience with being accused of tampering and what happened. You are just fine!! If they documented it, so be it! But do t worry bout being arrested! You are with good doctors now that will work with u so just concentrate on that. Don't give any thought to any negative thoughts out there!! No body has a crystal ball to tell us where life is going?!? All we can do is live our best life!

MtnGrl you are so welcome to join my club. I welcome everyone! :D

As for anything else going on...each case is different, just like we are in the sense of treatment and illness and action and reaction. I'm sure that this CPR place has a side to all of this, what I couldn't fathom, but I digress... let's keep supporting each other and fight the good fight. Can I get a YA?!

SAS is wonderful but trust me, they DO NOT GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT..JUST WHAT YOU NEED.

Again, I left CPR because a)Charles and b)the lack of professionalism c)the turnover of providers (and yes Dr. Glazer is WONDERFUL but now her good medical knowledge is trumped by Charles who IS NOT a medical dr.) d)they didn't answer their phones regularly and NEVER once returned my call.

I was planning an Exit strategy after I saw the third new provider in as many months.

I've had one appt at SAS, a 2 week follow up next week and so far I am impressed by their bedside manner. As for ordering meds like "Burger King"..NOT EVEN CLOSE!

As I and others have said,as long as we are doing nothing illegal, we have nothing to fear. But be careful of the written work and staring rumors that may be false. That put;s us all at increased risk and not one of us needs that!

The fact that SAS takes Medicaid AND can be my PCP is a bonus. But I'm used to paying cash only cuz so few

I was blown away by the beside manner of the practice. That's why I don't want it to get flooded with drug seekers thinking they can get a fix because they can't.

Hello all! Well, I've had a really rough week. Flare up of pain has gotten so bad that I haven't been able to get a handle on it, and in-turn, it's been making me feel nauseous, dizzy, etc. This happens at any given time with the disorders that I have and I never have any idea as to when it will get worse (flare up) and for how long. The unpredictability is hard to live with. On top of the flare up, I also caught a really bad cold that turned into bronchitis. I literally haven't been able to get out of bed for days and it is so depressing. Anyway, I was finally able to get up and move around today and i thought i'd check in with you guys to see how everyone is. I am an RN (not currently practicing) and have worked in healthcare in both the clinical side, and the administrative side for over ten years. I think that I can offer a lot of help and insight to anyone that would like to talk. I'm reaching out because I have gone so long without having a single friend to talk to about the things that i go through... well, I would tell them about it, but not often and not too much because I always feel like I'm a downer, or a broken record, and I don't want to be a burden to anyone. I'm a pro of putting up this front like I'm fine. It must work well because even doctors have commented that "you look fine!" when I've had horrible episodes of pain that landed me in the er. It's all so frustrating. I'll cut my message off here cause I don't wanna bore you guys! I'm here if anyone would like to talk, e-mail or whatever. I'd like to hear from you! Hope you're all having only good days.

Also I have just swapped from 20mg of oxynorm 2x a day to dilaudid 8mg 2x a day for breakthrough pain I go back to get the rest of dilaudid in a few days if I want to stay on them do you guys recommend the 8mg dilaudid ir tablets for my breakthrough ir when I go back stay with the instant release oxynorm 20mg aka oxycodone ???

Hydro,
ck
8mg dilaudid = 30mg oxy..so if you want to go back i to the oxy, see if they will up it to a 30 I used switch back and forth every 3 months or so cuz my tolerance was so high. Good Luck

Just a general question that maybe someone could explain to me. Why are people who want to be high, screwing up the legitimate medical system? Why aren't they just finding stuff on the street to get their fix? I'm chronically ill and for over 4 years now, there's been problems with getting my oxycodone, due to illegal users.

CPR knows about this site, back when I was oblivious and thought that the world was a safe place, I showed them this site. Amanda, Leonard and Dr. Kati. I didn't realize at the time what it was. I thought that this was a promotional site for CPR and they were happy to see all the positive posts. I have not been on here in awhile, but obviously things are not going so well. I am very sorry to have jeopardized anyone's health.
