I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!
My husband paid cash for one of mine because of prior Auth today .My fill was on the 14 .
Yes...I had to wait to...Medicaid ID making you wait till day 40 to fill you narcotics... No more 3 days early... So if your having an arthritic flare and take an extra pill or two during the month your short cause they make you wait till the exact day to fill your pills....how dumb huh.....
I had my 75 mcg patches cut after getting a 6 mo prior auth last month. My doc told me Medicaid will only cover 1 short acting and 1 long acting. So my 100 mcg patches and oxy are covered...had to pay cash for my 75s. Although I personally know of another patient getting their 100, 75 and 25 patches and Oxys covered. Leave it to Medicaid. Seems like it depends who answers the phone that day. My pharmacist said their constantly changing rules ( never in the patients benefit) have the pharmacy the docs and the patients up in arms!!! U guys having to wait to fill at Day 30 too?
I was thinking tha same bout tha co springs being closed and get story seems like since we gave her so info she hasnt said nothing back and idk how she cld be on 300mg of oxy and run out if she taking more then needed she has other issuers and asking if we know a dr she can go 2 next day that's crazy she is nt gonna find a dr anywhere that's gonna give her Wat she wants and I felt she was mad cuz she only got 16 of another med which she probably took in 1 day its those ppl that make it has for us and most likely is part of all these new rules and I have Medicaid and they cut me 2 from 120 to 80
Jet,
I have to agree with you. Withdrawal, although they say is not life threatening, can be. Many people with chronic pain issues, also have other chronic issues. Although they describe withdrawal as the ¨flu¨, symptoms include diarrhea and vomiting. Folks with heart issues or any other illnesses in which severe changes in your electrolytes can cause serious medical issues, including cardiac arrest. If you have days and days of not being able to keep fluids down, constant vomiting and or diarrhea, you need treatment. Reality is, better safe than sorry.
Jet I'm on oxy and have been for years .I recently went a week without due to Auth pending. It wasn't fun first thee days but it wasn't life threatening. And especially in Co Springs they have 24 pharmacy. That sounds like an addict sorry .
Wendy
Opiold pain meds will be out of your system in about every days, but withdrawal symptoms can last for up to 60 days, depending on the severity of addiction.
Opioid withdrawal is a very serious issue and people can actually die from going cold turkey.
This person has an issue and I feel for her, but the way she is saying all the pharmacies in COS are closed on weekends and just grasping at straws just screams "seeker".
Who else on medicade had their meds cut ? Ty Cindy nice to see u posting
I hope you get the shunt and feel better soon!
Ty mountain girl ty everyone .
Wendy!!! So glad to see you post... But am sad the hear you need a new shunt. Hopefully they can get everything done much quicker this time. Saying a prayer and sending you hugs!
I'm here ladies my post won't go thru .I need a new shunt .
Hi everyone I'm back home. So sorry I missed our meet up. My shunt wouldn't drain need new one which could take a year before they approve it. I don't have my meds CPR didn't do prior Auth so I'm without. I have to have my jaw broke because I have two extra bones in my mouth, good news is ill lose that fifty pounds I gained. lol. I was reading some post. Wtf the Dea reads this forum in case people are selling meds. Meds like oxy is a horrible things to come off of, but it takes week to be over withdraws not months. Like the ladies said go to ER GET SUBOXONE, OR lorazepam.
Patricia post 3958
Sweetie, I just read your post and I am sorry you are in so much pain, but I am not sure if you are aware, but LEGALLY we can not help you get ANY perception medication. If you are that bad, go to the ER and let them know your mental state.
This group was formed for support. For such things as, meds being received late, updates on laws, petitions, being able to COMPLAIN about pain (without judgment). Just to name a few. No one on here is going to give you any of their medication that they desperately need. I hope you don't harm yourself, and get help. In the process, I hope you are able to get your pain under control
Patricia.. I hate to tell you this but everyone to there meds cut me and my husband both got out meds cut to only #90 pills a month....I was taking #120 Oxycodone 30 mg.a month... AMD I was fine with the 120 nut I am struggling with only 90...And Medicaid is making it harder to get opiates... Because of the law Obama passed... Now us pain sufferers are suffering for druggies wanting to feel high on the meds we need to have a quality life.....I myself have battled breast cancer, titanium rod in my right leg for fib/tib fracture, open heart surgery from heart disease in 2012, lung disease, copd, scarring of the lungs, neck and back injuries so I do have valid reasons and Medicaid is still making us sick people suffer...I just don't get it ..I thought this was the land of the free... But anyway mscontin And any extended Release pill has been cut to a said amount and what never required a prior authorization form now requires one which can take days to be approved...
We are having alot of issues here in colorado must of us go to colorado pain relief in wheat ridge u can Google them its a cash only clinic make sure u have all ur proof of why u need pain management
I am living in the Memphis area & have been on disability for 2 years. Have back injuries from 2 different car wrecks & it started when I had a bad fall in NV years ago.
Have been under pain management for over 10 years but my doctor died this last
summer. Have severe chronic pain & been on morphine for over 7 years. It makes
Life tolerable. Had a new doc but he retired. I'm thinking of moving to CO. because I
grew up near there. I will definitely need a good doctor who understands how debilitating chronic pain of this kind can be.
I write music & even though Nashville is attractive to me, TN is becoming very tough for pain doctors because the legislation thinks they are all pill mills. It is sad
that I have to suffer for what thugs & irresponsible people do. They put us all in the
same category, but some of us are for real. They make schedule 2's for certain people who really need them. Hope I can find someone with some common sense &
compassion too.

I'm sorry I have not.....but this forum. Ames it so dang hard to share contact info. .... This is the only way I know to reach her
Has anybody heard from Wendy idk her email hope she is well and doin good
