Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 240)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Lastexit, YES to your question regarding Ullman drug panel on 1st appt so be prepared. It's OK if you smoke, just be honest. Hope that helps and I hope you're also pleasantly surprised

Wendy, dam woman this is a really F'd up shunt. Is this the one that is on recall? Everyone, my X is on his way to the ER. He cannot have his BP spike and that's exactly what's happening. This is entirely he result of a system that's trying to discard economically challenged and older folk. I'm disgusted that so many docs and offices have signed a contract basically NOT to treat ppl on medicaid. Also, Kaiser is opening an actual pain mgmt branch. My X is attempting to get in early some back entrance method of Doc referral. I'm not hopefully he will receive care at am ER as there are also certain ER's designated for Medicaid patients. Talk about treated like a 2nd class citizen. It is appalling. Anyone checked in at cpr for the verdict? I'm happier with new doc.

PHOENIX-----I don't know if you feel comfortable answer on here, but I'm curious as to what Dr u are seeing now. Even a letter hint will be fine. Also, I tried calling CPR multiple times today and had no luck getting thru.

you are right, it's the gov. putting their laws making things even more hard. .you all need to sign the petition about the gov. cutting all opioid production by 25 %.... please and read monthly publication painnewsnetwork.org

Just so you know and don't get your hopes to high, Kaiser has been saying they are opening an actual pain management clinic since 2012! I was a patient at hidden lake for over 13 yrs. My Dr there had me going to CPR. They are jerking people along and telling them this so they will continue to use Kaiser. Kaiser sucks!

To everyone in pain, God bless and help you. Now, that being said, I had the most devastating appointment with Jonathan Clapp. I will not respect him with the title od doctor. He is with Colorado Pain Consultants in Greenwood Village. He treated me with so much disrespect that I am still in shock. I don't want narcotics. My husband is a stage IV throat cancer survivor who has undergone a total laryngectomy. Believe me, if I wanted drugs I would just need to walk down the hall to the bathroom! I wanted help AND a diagnosis. I am tired of hurting and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the diagnosis of fibromyalgia. I am going to try cannabis ingestables without activated THC. THC gives me panic attacks, but the CBDs do not. My husband went from 15 (yes 15) Percocets at a time to none by using cannabis. We also feel that it helped prevent the spreading of the cancer to other organs. ALL of his Kaiser doctors were 100% in agreement with his decision. They are amazing! But unfortunately I have a new job that only offers Cigna. So far, very, very unhappy. But long story short, don't let any doctor dictate what is best for you. YOU are your own advocate. Try topical as well.

This Is such a sad world we live in. I literally have been bed ridden for two days with no end in sight. It is so frustrating. I can't do this anymore.

Hello i am looking for a Doctor that can perscibe me oxycodone 10 325 4 x daily. In 2013 i had cancer for the secon time in my life. It pretty much wore me down and i hurt. My doctor took me off my pain meds this monthbecause he is not s pain doctor. I am not going through with draws i just hurt like he...! My spine and neck are deteriating and i have chrones disease. So the pain meds help my stomach also. Please help me find a pain doctor. I am fom missouri but pain doctors are gew and far between. Thank you, Deanna

PHOENIX, HOW IS UR HUSBAND DOING? I hope all is well and he finds a doctor soon. I feel for him as I am having the same problem trying to find one.

JESSE...No it's not like probation thank God. It's a private unisex bathroom with one toilet. I've even taken my purse with me. I believe it's a 12 panel as it is sent out. Just be honest when asked what's in your system. You will probably get an rx for V if you ask. My b/f smokes daily and it has not been. Problem. I take edibles on occasion and again not a problem. Remember it's as much about having what you should have as it is about not having what you shouldn't. It's ur first visit so my advice is to be totally honest and then be sure you're totally compliant in 2 months at your next appointment and going forward. Tell your man to relax. I'm sure you will be fine. Plz let me know how it goes!! Godspeed!!

Plz hang in there. I know between the horrific pain and withdrawals you iiterally wanna die. Are you a CPR patient? Get the hell outta there and go see one of the docs mentioned in previous posts. Let us know how it turns out. I may not know you but my heart aches for you. THIS TOO SHALL PASS!! I PROMISE!

DEANNE...This thread is for people who live in the Denver metro area. If you are willing to travel then read the posts a week or two back and you will find several names. Your dosage is relatively low so I think any of the docs recently mentioned would work. You may wanna search and see if there's a thread closer to home and if not start a new one. Also google pain clinics in your area. Often times there will be a clinic that will write you for 30 days to help you out until you find something more permanent.

The Smith's ran into trouble cuz they never did U/A's for over a year. And when they pulled a surprise one only 20% of the patients passed. After that they were worried and shut it down! A shame really. They took Medicaid and were very caring. I think Mr. Smith was really hurt. So onward we were forced to go ...a year ago now. What I'm trying to say is i don't think posting their name on here was a bad thing. Business was booming and they discharged the obvious seekers. But their fatal flaw was trying to go from being a PCP to managing large needs from their pain patients. And not really knowing how to make that leap.

JESSEY...did u say Dex''s initial consult fee was $600 bux? That's a lot of cash but after it's still $160 a month so I think it's worth it. Not everyone likes him but we really do. Again keep me posted.
