Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 170)
UpdatedI have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!
Can you help me with your doctors name PLEASE. I could repeat your situation almost identically. Even had spinal surgery in December.
Tammy also very saddened about such a smart guy. I don't think he overdosed on purpose, being a close family member of his died with an accidental overdose. Idk but I also heard he had heart problems. What I going on with that pharmacy guy at Cpr, I had my close friend go there they realm helped him out but about the same time Mac was accused of changing the date on his script, my friend said a u / a came back with suboxone positive? He's kinda new to CP world ( my friend) he's not the brightest bulb in the pack, but he knows they u a him everytime. I was going to United Health Group in Arvada.. I am moving back within18 months. I do have a feeling CPR should b in good standing. Has Dr may just given up CPR does he ever show up at all?...hope thing r stable for you!! And u r as pain free as possible!! I've posted as Chaos . So I call myself Co to Fl Aka Chaos
Contact info please on doc that doesn't flip out about pain such as Valium & Duluidid sp? Sorry.
I will make the drive to get my pain med every month as it keeps me out of my power chair!!!! I am thinking of going to see if Neuro Stims have gotten any better than 5-7 yrs ago. My pills are running out and I have no help so far in CO. I am afraid of going into sezures!!!!!! Please for the love of God there has be some doctor in this state???? Or I am going to have to fly down to TX to my old doc and get a script for another month to buy me some time to keep looking for continued car for chronic pain 24/7!
Brye, I hear you. Rocky mountain internal medicine or MCNP both in Aurora. RMIM is off potomac right off 225. They will help with the valium and getting in is same day or next day. Its a general practice office not pain mgmt office n they take medicaid. Good Luck.
What about the morphine??? Will they help me with that issue? I am getting a bit nervous over all of this. I can't find anyone to either wiene sp? (Sorry) me off both drugs without giving me something worse! How do they get you off the drugs in Aurora??
Kitty, CPR, Stands for Colorado Pain Relief. They went through some very tough growing pains but now are very stable with two really well educated doc's who know what they are doing. I still go there and have been happy since the changes. Well worth trying out. They started a suboxone treatment center, Medicaid approved which I think is one of the only clinics in the area.
Janey, I only see the office location in Wheatridge listed. I went there yesterday to drop off my documentation n patient pack but the lights were off and no one was there....2pm in the afternoon. Ive been told they split their time between other offices but this is the only one listed on their website. I cant seem to get a return call in a timelymanner either. Any ideas?
Cindy, I still havent received your request to exchange information. Just wanted you to know and say thank you.
VerychattyS,
Hey there is cpr colorado pain relief that does not accept insurance with one office in wheatridge....that i can find. Then there's colorado pain n rehab also uses cpr acronym. They have multiple officed n do accept insuramce but not medicaid patients. So thats what I found out today. Looks like Im driving back up to Wheatridge. Geez
I have many medical diagnosis. A fell off nearly 50 feet onto a wall over 30 years ago, which has left me in bad shape. After taking over 400 mg a day of oxycontin for years not to mention the strongest muscle relaxants and many others. The up and down cycle was wearing on my psyche. What I found was an implanted interthecal (directly into the spinal fluid) controlled the pain better...spasms and up and down feeling by no comparison to orals. If you are a patient who is wanting to feel high... this is not for you. I use 3 medications in the pump and take orals once in a great while. I am by no means pain free but it is hands down better than orals. Give Colorado Pain management a call. Dr. Leo and Reuesswig are phenomenal.
Thank u for the info. Could u please tell me what city they are in? Does canon have one? I am so grateful to u... maybe we will meet some day in co. Have a good one. I can't wait to move.
I am on Medicare only still as I just turned 61. Any of the places I get help from have take Medicare and I have to pay the 20%. I am trying so hard to wiene myself off the Morphine myself and it's hard and of course the pain is more than I can stand! I just lay on a heating pain and cry and scream as I also have bi-lateral peripheral neuropathy for ten years now with a proper Dx. My entire neck is fused up to the C1-C7 I have a cracked and bulging discs in L3-5, then I have spinal stenosis and terrible facet issues. Total surgeries (58) Epidural totals in my life (17) other things had stimulate bi-lateral and my bad leg and hip stim battery died way to soon (3 yrs) so they took them out completely. If they work better I would be interested to chat with a surgeon to have them redone. They should last at least 5 yrs! I have been in two very serious car accidents in childhood. I had ankle surgery and they failed terribly. Both my knees have fliud in them worse is my right knee where I have to have them drained about every two months. I have muscle spasms so violently that I jump out of bed many times a night and stretch in any direction I can get into to get relief and try to go back to sleep. Never get to REM sleep so I never get deep sleep for my body to recoup itself. I was a an RN Nurse up until I had to go on disability at 36. I adored my career! I tried to re-train into a sitting job in medical records but failed as they placed me into power chair and scooter but the up and down to reach foods etc made me even more in pain. I am just trying to be my own advocate as they all tell you to be good patient. But it seems to piss them off more. I will try just about anything to just get some of the edge of the pain off so can move some, go groceries, sit and the wash be a wife!!! I hate, and always have hated that high feel!ing!!! I don't even drink anything with alcohol as I hate the feel!! That is why I am so against an refuse "that Pot is the new answer to colorado's new law for pain control! It's not the answer for a majority of patients. Please, we are all in this together so anything I find I will bring your way an please I am new to CO. Please help with a name, Office info. Address if you can and as I look an search I will pass my me findings here for you all. I feel your pain and olive it 24/7. Thank so for your help so far!!!!
Sincerely,
Brye
Please forgive my iPhone 's re-correcting my words as some do not make sense at!!! I really do know how to spell! How embarrassing!
Sincerely
Brye
I am not on Medicaid, but I am on Medicare. Do you know if they take that?
Thank you for some help!!!
Sincerely
Brye
I'm in Denver and cant afford, on many levels, to keep commuting to UT for my doctor. I'd love to try the group and elsewise have fou d two options and both are out of pocket. I have insurance I can use and would prefer to do so obviously. ...thank you SO much! I'm a 34 year old male in nearly perfect shape otherwise. ..its a HUGE BATTLE upstairs as all here know. I appreciate your time and consideration.
Attn alex and DJ
Finally found the button to email administrators asking if I could provide you with my email address-- DJ- we have already exchanged msgs about this in the forum - alex- is that ok with you?

Phoenix on July 6th Medchat admins told me once they received a request from you they would share my email information. That was the last I heard from them. Should we both put in another request to exchange info and let them know it is a second request?
Sounds like we got looked over
Oh Cindy, I didnt know we both had to request it. I thought one person requested from another and (once put thru by admin) person on the receiving end would accept or reject. I'll hop on my computer today and scroll back to that very detailed information in the "How To's" for dummies. Given my backgroynd this is really funny. Ill catchup with you later today. Thx Cindy
