Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 16)
UpdatedI have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!
No worries. I'm glad you're pain is under control. That's why I started this forum.
Rob just use the contact button after you click privacy policy on the right of this and just let them know you want to be able to email me. I already emailed them and they're waiting on you to confirm from the other side.
fitzbella91, that would be great. I'm going out of my fricking mind worrying about all the new Drs and diseases. I can honestly say just by the way I've gotten treated by my dr clinic for the past 2yrs, I honestly wanted to give up. I didn't ask to be in pain and that's the way they treat u. Hopefully we can find a way to email each other. That would help so much.
Hey
Have any of you ever asks ya Dr for a pain pump if so whut did they do say no or you all still waiting to hear back from ya DR
I know there is a Dr Chiacca ( not sure of spelling) but he does a lot of pain pumps! I also believe Colorado Rehab, they have offices all across town, they do lots of invasive procedures and I'm quite sure someone there would provide this service also! Dr Primack, who is difficult to get into is excellent! I do have many resources due to my previous job but due to government changes and the crackdown of pain medication management, I found it really difficult to find a Dr that would allow just medicine management! Any resources for things like pain pumps, I can usually give u names of folks! I hope this helps!
Kevin what do you mean you're a private doctor?
Janey how do pain pumps work? Wouldn't they have to still be filled up every so often?
Yes! I rather works like an insulin pump or a long term spinal anesthesia! You have a small pump which typically the Dr sets and it delivers the amt of narcotic the Dr orders! I'm told it's quite effective and u still have "break through" meds ordered if needed! I've personally only seen it used on long term terminal patients, not ones that are up and walking but those I've talked to in the Dr's office swear by it! I have a totally numb left leg so it isn't a good choice for me! It's worth a chat with your Dr if oral meds aren't working and some Dr's use this as an adjunct if your medication levels are getting so high from tolerance to give your body a rest and allow it to start creating its own pain relievers! I'm not sure how truly effective this is as the folks I've talked to said yes for a week or so they were able to decrease their dosages but within a month, they were right back where they started! So lots of pro's and con's! I hope this helped! Take care!
Hello
I just got out of the Er got 13 stitches and they did a CT and found that I have a new fracture in my L1 @ L2 they did not give me anything for pain my Er sucks balls bad here in Harford county I just want to find a Dr who will find the right meds I hate pills I hate pain I am so about ready to start DRINKING AGAIN ATLEST I WAS NOT IN PAIN
no dont do a discogram. Had one over 20 yrs ago, worst pain I ever felt. My legs have hurt ever since that discogram. Bad deal
I am 57 and had spinal fusion in 1994 so have delt with pain along time. I go to cali. for my pain meds as I live in nebraska where they wont proscribe opiates for pain. The drs. here want to put in plants in the electrode kind. No way
I have taken hydromophone for the last 10 yrs. They help me the best when on a regular dose.
I'm just wondering how they fill up the pump every time it runs out..... Do they cut you open every time? I'm good on Fentanyl patches and my breakthru meds right now, I've just always been curious how that whole process with the pumps works.
From what I've seen its a little unit that you can carry on your belt or something like that
The pump works like an I.v in a hospital medicine gets changed kindof like that.
maC686 you sure do give alot of advice on this forum or is it your forum? There's alot of people out here in the same boat and your attitude towards them is not what i would call helpful. you should want to help all people not just colorado residents. What others say may help a number of people. Sounds like you must get a commision for recommending dr may? Just check your fact and figures before you post it so ??????????????
Believe me I know mac is a patient just like the rest of us I actually recomended dr. May to mac and it was his forum. Other people can read it but as for recomending a dr we only know of docs in Colorado so before you post anything negative towards anyone read the top post which is the question asked. If you have a problem with it then go somewhere else.
No Mac! They don't cut u open each time! It's like a mini PCA pump! And I do need to respond to the person who asked if u were on commission for CPR! How ridiculous! There have been other Dr's mentioned here but I did take the recommendation of going to CPR! They get u in quick, they r thorough, professional and an awesome group of people! I highly recommend them but all u need to do is ask and we will give u others! I assure u they won't b as awesome as these folks!
At least we know who sticks up for true patients on here and not people who want to put u down. So now we are bad people because of where we live and can't tell anyone of our experience with other doctors in other states or cities. Well I guess we are going to hell.
