Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 15)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

I agree but it might have been taken the wrong way also. But we are recomending someone we see not ones we don't. Also if a person is getting 1,000 oxys a month I would say that doctor will be shut down soon cause that is a lot for a month. Kindof fishy to me. But I know mac was probably meaning something else.

Janey I wasn't meaning it in that way. I started this forum to try to help myself and others. But we all know he's lying about that amount. That's about 33 per day. ESPECIALLY if they're 30s. NO doctor will write you 1000 oxy's a month. Period. I just don't believe it flat out. But I should be able to inquire as to what kind of amount he was written to see if it is an amount more suited to what I need for my pain. So please don't judge my question. Really we should be able to ask any question on here. That's the whole point. People sharing information with each other.

Lol in Colorado the most a dr. Can wright is 360 30 mg oxys a month. May be he ment 1000 mg a month. The DEA will only let a dr. Wright 360 30z per month and even that's a lot. You have to be in a lot of pain. My buddy gets 300 30z a month. I knw this Becouse he used to work in a medical mmj dispencery a few years a go. Back then the dispensery would hire say a dr. Out of retirement and wright as many mmj scripts as they can. For some people he would give them say a script for mmj and may b like 120 10mg oxy a month. My buddy that gets 300 30z oxy was shot 6 times in the army and had a ton of sergerys and bad hip replacement plus he's on methadone as well. So there is no way dude is getting a 1000 from a dr. May b on the streets but not legit.

ya I get 120 a month and methadone. Which helps my back pain for sure, but I used to be on 6 30s a day and then just got dropped because CPR won't write more than 4 instant release meds per day. It just sucks because many times I am still in pain later on in the evening and don't have my breakthru meds anymore. Rob. Is there any way your friend would be ok sharing his doctor privately with me?

MFine. Please don't come on here asking people to sell you stuff. This is a forum for help for people who really need it. Go into a doctor. And if you don't have the problems to justify pain medication, then forget about it. No one on here will sell you their meds. And btw, IT'S A FELONY SMART GUY!!!!

Yeah I can get it for you Mac. In fact I was thinking of sending my wife ther. It's $170 first time visit and the same after that and only UA you once evry 3 months.

Thank you Rob. With my 6 different back conditions (Spinal stenosis that's really bad, 6 herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, sciatica and arthritis in my facet joints). Do you think they would move me up from 4 30s a day? I used to be on 6 and then CPR just lowered the amount that everyone can be on which is hard. It's 120 a month MAX and it just isn't quite enough. It was close to enough when I had two more but it's hard to only have the 4 breakthru meds a day. I'm on methadone as well. Do you think they could help me? And do you know what kind of dosage of methadone your buddy who was shot is on? And btw, thank him for his service. Ask on this site to communicate with me privately and they'll go between us so we can get each others' email. By the way, do they take any insurance?

I just contacted Mile High Pain and a doctor is going to call me to talk about their treatment plans. So we'll see what they have to say. Maybe they'll say 1000 oc's a month LOL. But Rob, I would still love to know the doctor your friend goes to and I would greatly appreciate it.

And Janey, finding out which doctors are willing to help in what sort of way is an important part of finding the right treatment plan. Some analgesics don't work as well for some people as others, certain doses may not work for someone with tolerance. That's why I started this forum to be able to find the doctor that suits my needs and others' needs the best. CPR is great but because of all the drug addicts and seekers they lowered my medications for no reason. So it's important to me to know what sort of meds a doctor will write and what their treatment plans are before spending money to go and see them. It's not about who writes the most meds, it's about finding which doctor will happily help to get your pain under control.

Well said mac also find one that you are comfortable with and who actually cares not one in it to make money and write whatever so they get paid cause that will get you and the clinic shut down fast and some without meds and another bad rap for the true patients in need of good medical care.

I couldn't agree with u more! That's why I've been encouraging folks to share other Dr's names than just CPR! They did lower my dose when I first started and then they had to adjust my dose! Although I have issues, I tend to overdo! Now they have me on a dose that works well for me and have never felt better! I have real issues with Dr's that just write scripts and don't actually listen to your issues or even look at you! Because I "look well" and am functional, they tend to believe I don't need my medications! CPR actually listened to me! Looked at my history and quickly realized I had issues! I have hardware in my back that needs to come out but I had a cardiac arrest and have a pacemaker so they don't want to do surgery that isn't necessary and can b managed medically! I appreciate what u have gone through, I think many of us have done the same! Hang in there and let them know what's going on, they did change my dosages and medications to fit my personal needs!

I'm trying to find how to do it. You contact the server administrators and tell them who you want to contact personally and then they contact that person, ask them if it's ok for the two to communicate and then they email us each other's info. Tammy do you remember how you and I did it?

WOW! Things got kind of interesting on here since I last posted! I just wanted to come back and update to the few people that took the time to reply directly to me. I called Dr. May and because I have Medicaid, it is illegal for them to accept me as cash pay. I got kind of discouraged, but I called Unified. Since my primary Dr. had discontinued my care, I was still re-establishing care with my old primary doc. Not my favorite choice, but medicaid makes the choices fewer and farther between. Luckily my Dr. did the referral to Unified. I go in Tuesday, but OMG can I just say I am already just thrilled with them! They have done two.... TWO in length phone consultations. The second one was them calling back for more information and it was the first time anyone has taken interest in the WHOLE history. They were clear about what they do and don't do and they have in house x-ray and will do an MRI as well. They cared about what hasn't worked for me and what has. As of right now, my primary Dr. has me on the maximum dose of tramadol (400 mg a day) and gabapentin at 1800 mg right now, titrating up to max as well which is 3600 mg. I am definitely not out of pain or nearly as functional as I was, but some of the bad side effects of the narcotics are gone and so I would say I feel OKAY on most days.... I am open to looking at some more non-narcotic options with Unified. I know this thread started looking for high doses of meds, and if treating the source doesn't work, I am comfortable working with Unified as of now. I will update again after my actual appointment.
