Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 135)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Wendy! I wrote a note that's being reviewed I guess! I know how u feel! Haven't decorated anything! Gotten shopping done or the worst to me! Wrapping! Hang in there! We are all pulling for u!

I haven't even gotten the boxes with XMas stuff in them out of storage. No shopping done. Oh well, I keep saying that we aren't doing a big XMas but get roped in anyway. May be this year, I really won't do it :)

Wendy I'm sorry you're still feeling so crappy :( I did the xmas decorating and even some baking and now I'm paying the price. Over medicated and in too much pain lol, tis the season though, right! :)
Lucy I've been on SS since 1996 what BS that being on it makes you feel worse. I am thankful for the income although it is nowhere near what I was making. There is no way I could sit to work for a full day. With my back my deterioration is going to happen anyway, and it would certainly happen a lot faster if I were working 40 hours a week and not allowed to lay down and stay off my feet as I can do now. If you are eligible I would highly recommend applying.

lol Wendy if I make enough I will bring you a plate of goodies. I used to bake at least 20 different things and so far I've only done like 5. It sucks being sick :(

Cindy....thx for the encouragement of SSI. And Susie..thx for your encouragement as well. And Wendy, how I wish we lived closer and/or I drove so I could come over and take care of you when Tom has to be at work. My latest endeavor is working for a woman who is drug free but OMG...she acts like she's on speed 24/7. Interrupts like crazy...doesn't want to hear my suggestions..penny wise-pounds and pounds foolish. I was hired to do bookkeeping for her for $20 an hour and then once hired tells me she might just use me for the bookkeeping stuff and hire a data entry person at $10 The agency told me the hours were flexible. Turns out she only has one computer with QuickBooks so I can only work when she doesn't need that computer which is usually after 4 pm. So my b/f has to drive me there in traffic and then pick me up late when he has to be up at 5 am. I told her I would do both. So I'm dealing with this maniac just thru the month so my kids and grandson can have a good xmas...and I do appreciate the $, altho I am way over qualified, and of course, after I agreed to work with her I was hit with several potential better opportunities but I can't afford to make a change until after the new year. All this I tell you to basically say, I'm going after SSI...I've suffered for 14 years and what really hit me was that I would potentially be speeding up my own spinal degeneration. Question: how much can you work when you are on SSI? I couldn't afford to live solely on that as income.

And smalls..I agree with your post to jetmechanic. I'm sure you are a decent guy, jet, but pls don't post things you know nothing about. This is OUR support group, our fellow chronic pain sufferers, who know and understand what we have to endure, especially in light of the fact that our meds are being "managed" by insurance companies and the like, not pain specialists. Do you all know that thx to Obamacare, the IRS will be handling the management of medical insurance? If that's not an "oxy"moron I don't know what is. Thx to all of you, I get a little crazy(ier) when Im too busy to get on and see how everyone is. Btw, Dan, did you ever get your Xanax from Martel?

Jetmech- who was your doc in WA? I've suffered the same ordeal you have in colo- even though I definitely have the pathology to back me up ( 2 motorcycle accidents. One autu accident - numerous surgeries etc)

Anyone have any experience with Dr. Patricia Little? Anyone know a doctor that takes Aetna PPO that prescribes OxyContin? I took it for ten years, got off it, and my pain management doctor prescribed me, .4 mg of Clonidine twice daily, over the phone, and I had only met with this man twice in ten years. Every other time I met with his PA, so he did not know me, never took vitals, and just prescribed this over the phone when I moved to Colorado and wanted off Oxy. I ended up in the ER with a heart attack, needing a blood transfusion, and almost died. I am suing him) I have found that every pain management doctor I have contacted in Colorado only gives back inj's. I LOATHE needles, vasovagal, and the inj's. give little relief to my back. Also, that still leaves me with abdominal pain (7 failed surgeries for hernia repair that resulted in scar tissue and pain, then surgical mesh implanted, surgical mesh recalled, surgical mesh removed - with damaging of nerve bundles, resulting in severe nerve pain, then rebuilding my abdominal wall with irradiated pig skin, which has also failed and I again have multiple hernias), shoulder pain (from a tumor removed in the ball of the joint, and the bone cement dissolved, so I now have fluid build up causing pressure and an empty pocket there that constantly puts pressure on my radial nerve), diverticulitis, anal fistulae, an incorrectly repaired Episiotomy (I even had lovely PICs taken of the scar and I was written up in a medical journal - EMBARRASSING!), a broken ankle that healed incorrectly that needs repair, and Leiomyosarcoma. And all my teeth are breaking off due to the many meds I have been on. I was told twenty thousand dollars to fix my teeth, so i will wait for them to fall out and them get dentures. That dental pain is excruciating though. (Told my son to be a dentist because people may hold out on going to get help with other pain, but not dental pain). BTW, I am not overweight. I had Gastric Bypass about 10 years ago, so the hernias are not from the weight issue. I got off Oxy and have been basically bedridden since the end of July. I have little muscle left, and I need back on meds before I need up dying. I HATE having to get back onto them, because my mind is clearer now, and I feel like I was in a fog for about ten years, and I plan to attend law school, so my mind needs to be sharp. (I have aced the LSAT twice now and got accepted into law school twice, but did not go due to health or family issues. This time I MUSt follow through.) FYI, I have a high pain tolerance, as I had eight babies without any medication, the last one was breech, so I had an epidural. I was in the Coast Guard, so I am not whiny and just want pills. I have genuine pain, and the doctors are tired of operating. they fear more surgeries will leave more scar tissue or do more nerve damage. I am sort of screwed. If anyone has any ideas, other than Oxy, i would love to hear them. I have been reading your comments for months, and you all seem to have experience with genuine pain and know how I feel. I have sympathy for you all and wish I could take the pain from each of us. Anyway, I am rambling. Any advice, direction, support, or help is greatly appreciated!

Have any of you guys gotten a note after your post was reviewed requesting that u share more of your experience to help others? It was a little odd but it was the post to Wendy about requesting help from the hospitals case manager, incase u want to read the post! I've never gotten this and wondered if any of u have!

Thanks for letting me know! It is interesting since MAC set up this thread, is it the managers for the thread or who sending them!
Also to all! I sent a letter to Obama today full of useful information and feedback regarding our issues and medical needs! I think everyone should! I've always gotten a response! I realize it's probably some secretary or whomever but if they get enough responses, they will take note! If u need the address, let me know!

Been bad sick with ulcer. Didn't want Wendy to get ahead of me, so I had to get something else acting up, so I could catch up :) Not bleeding so didn't have to do the hospital.

Cindy, how is the med change working out? Did you talk to her about something stronger?

Hey Co Susie wendy mtn girl cindy and all else......sorry I havent been on. this divorce is draggin me out. im so stressed my meds aren't keepin up wit me. my pain control is unbearable. my soon 2 be ex... excuse my next phase ladies...is being a D***!!! I had 2 quit my 2nd job due 2 all thats happenin. im just get up and around from the stomach flu. my grandson was in hospital wit ammonia. he is only 4. idk how im even gonna have a christmas from my money issuses and I havin issuses wit my dr so I mite be lookin 4 a new 1. so if u ladies have a list of Medicaid drs please share it with me. I would appreciate it..thanks

I know it's hard but you got to try to put the divorce out of your mind. When you get upset, your pain level goes up so fast !!!
Grandson ok now? How long was he in the hospital?
All of our grandchildren have been sick except for 2 of them and they haven't even been around each other. My husband missed two days work sick this week and he hardly ever misses work and he is still sick. I have been sick with an ulcer.
I haven't gotten anything out of storage for Christmas. No tree, no nothing.
You try to take care of you. Try to think about your grandson and put that awful divorce out of your mind.

Wendy I can see them but 4 some reason from all the new patients comin from CPR nt sayin anything bad or bout CPR or there patients they said the DEA is on them bad cuz most of them that came from there are on heavy meds and im nt so I was told that since I have had a server allergic reaction 2 morphine methadone and oxycotin from when I was at kaiser and the only thing I can take without issuses which is nt a long term pain med is percocet I only get 25 a week and told me they had 2 drop me 2 just 20 and thats all I take I asked if I was the only 1 being dosed dwn and was told no I ask why and didnt get a answer everyweek when I go I have exactly What I shld have they run my name every week and see I dnt get any from no were else they gave me a UA I passed I dnt ask 4 early refills I been goin every monday since I started in august I follow there rules consistently and idk or wonder stand why I dnt ask ever for my daily use 2 go up so im in the dark???

I still see them they didnt fire me or nothing like that I understand that 4 is tha max dose for a daily use but if im followin all the rules nt seekin anywhere else nt failing UA and cant be told why im being cut down and no 1 else what am I suppose 2 do? I even showed check stubs for both jobs just so then know im or was working 2 jobs and its nt the percocet with Tylenol I take the percocet without Tylenol and its the 10mg I had a new MRI done and now instead of 3 bulging disks I have 5 in my lower back along with past advance bone degenerative disease and the starting of spinal stenosis I already have sciatica bad but seems like its getting worse I do take other meds for my back besides the pain meds I do physical therapy and im 5'6 and did weight 170 now I weight 140 and idk wat else 2 do
