Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 12)
(Newest replies first)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Chaos...Did Dex not work for you?

Aggie...My prayers are with you. My sister and best friend took their life 9 years ago due to fibro / chronic pain. I miss her everyday but I do understand.

To all on Medicare or Medicaid and looking for a very good PC doc that handled my pain management while I was on Medicaid, take a look at Dr. Kornfeld at Denver Health, Lowry Clinic. He was great. I would still be with him if my insurance covered him. They accept Medicaid, they have a pharmacy on site, and they give you 2 prescriptions at a time, so you don't have to make an appointment every month.
It's worth a shot to get people away from these PM con artists....... take a look!!

Chaos, sounds like it is time to start waening ourselves off the meds, won't be fun or anything, but I guess the powers that be would rather have us disabled, I have had to do a few ua this yr, maybe 2, no pill count yet but that would be tough on me, I am on a small dose, 2 15 er a day and 4-6 mg of diluadid, I don't mind following the rules, will do so happily but hope it doesn't become impossible to be pain free or under control, I love everyone in that office.

Jane doe, I came in 10 days early for med adjustments, so I got u/a then and nothing was said about that u/a cuz I went back 10 days later to my normal appointment and they u/a me again! Still nothing was said. So I took one more and then 10 days later they called and fired me. I don't understand... I was tested 3 times in a row. Heather told me they're gonna start testing more and also do pill counts, not even giving you 24 hours notice. She said if they call u that day you have until 5:45 to get there; if not, you will be fired. Mind you I knew Lincoln since 2012. Also they know I've been struggling with payments and also we've been trying different meds. I finally got a dose that stops my leg pain without having to take lyrica, but it's making me keep weight on.

Idk what's going on at that clinic, but I felt as though my shortcomings and trying to find the right dose takes a few months, so I just don't know. I don't drive and the bus takes 2 hours, so if they would be called for a pill count chances are I wouldn't have been able to make it. Plus the fact I feel like a hundred dollar bill to them. I was 65.00 short one day. They knew I needed refills, so I feel like he doesn't care about me, he's just grabbing all the money he can make with mmj cards and pm while he can. I've read so much literature about ameritox, and other false+, that you just cant trust it. Also ppl are being told to flush their unused meds down the toilet. I cook with water and drink bottled water. We came a long way with technology, but still I think there is some way to go. We all process things differently.

Post #5284 and others from Aggie, I absolutely understand the helplessness and hopelessness. I'm Catholic and have known that ending ones life is mortal ventral sin. I'm tempted. The body failure and pain is severe. My spinal thoracic episode in August 2012 caused my aorta to wrinkle along with the vertebrae. I believe God understands our heart and soul. Use your voice. Shame on those in positions of power that we elected. We pay their salaries. This has been going on prior to this recent election. Non Pattinson. Every great colonization has colapsed within when leaders stopped listening to citizens. I'm refusing all but palliative care so my journey will be sooner. I just hope God knows I couldn't handle severe pain from a broken body any longer than necessary. Due to kidney and bladder problems, infections, spinal vertebrae instability, I have had antibiotics and steroids but they just prolong the suffering. Please pray for me as well and all of you share your voice to make a difference. My attorney is receiving this cell when I pass. Internet is forever. Our voices carry on. We are the new genocide done stealthy and suddenly.

Aggie thank you for your prayers. I've been fortunate to have had a Dr. Help me. I heard all these horror stories on here on news cancer patients on camera getting their scripts denied.
Now I too have become released from my PM. The letter of dismissal isn't as bad as I thought.
I have never had a problem with m uhhg u/a for the 5 years I've been on meds.
My pm outta blue just tested me 3 times in a month.
During this time I was dealing with UTI, bladder and uterine pain and pain with urination.
These tests state i had methadone in my system
Taking methadone with the ER I'm prescribed would kill me , plus my BY meds and small doses of clonazepam, I got myself off of lyrica and Xanax to clonazepam.
Now I am so scared to find a Dr that takes medicare, because I can no longer afford the monthly fee of this pm Dr.
Also my last visit I had 110.00 on cash and there was no way they would help me, I was able to reach my daughter in Fl to call and give the staff the credit card#,
I do know that this Dr. I'm snot going to throw me under the bus meaning they 're not try to stop other Dr. S from treating me.
So it could be worse.
I do know a Dr. I'm Littleton takes my insurance, I'm going to see if he will help me with some form of pain med , he probably will not rx my BY meds ,but I will be looking for PM that takes my insurance.
The thought of the worse things that can happen the pain, the depression, and too much pain not treated for prolonged amount of time leads to suicidal thoights, naturally in a lot of pain patients.
I have dropped to my knees in prayer because I have some challenging things in my life ahead.

I am in Grand Jct. And havent been able to find a doctor who will treat my fibromyalgia, chronic atypical migraines, and a bulging cervical disc causing constant neck pain. I'm barely able to function. I, through no fault of my own had to move here from Cleveland where I was seen regularly and treated with various nerve blocks and meds at the Cleveland Clinic Pain Mgt Center. I've got constant pain for the last 6 years. Can you share your doctor's information with me? I wuld be so very grateful.

Ma Zero... I live in the Springs. Dr. Finn is a physiatrist... meaning he's an expert at bones and joints but doesn't do major surgeries... he's wonderful! He is NOT a pain mgt dr, but once he makes a diagnosis, he can refer you to someone. There are also several Orthopaedic centers in the Springs... so maybe call around and see who can get you in. Good luck!

What about help with benzos, my aunt has endometriosis, they be been helping her for years with that endometriosis cramping.
Thanking you or any1 who knows , thank you in advance. My aunt is very responsible with her meds and wouldn't jeopardize Dr. D.

Wish I could help, I moved to colorado springs, co. I am 70 yrs. old and have been on oxycodone (6 a day). I went to a pain management doc, pissed them off cause the lab said I have hep-c and my vasqular surgeon had evaluated me to find that I don't have it. The doctors here are awful. the first doctor I went to diagnosed me while I was sitting in a chair as having curvature of the spine. second visit he looked at my back then decided I don't have it. I would love to find a good doctor here. if u find one let me know and I will do the same. by the way they said at my last apt they found methamphetamine in my U/A. A 70 yr. old junkie worked for a couple police dept.s and city of Dallas, TX. never tried the stuff. I didn't even try marijuana till I moved to colorado. the marijuana helps and I get it from a dispensary clinic..wish u all the luck. If I don't find one soon, I will return to Dallas.

I have been lucky. If my doc disappears.....I'll be on the search again, but that's not likely. He isn't much older than I am, and has 4 great nurse practitioners that I usually see. In nearly 3 years, I have only seen the doctor once. I, too hoard my meds......and keep them in my pocket always, ever since we had new windows installed, my meds were in the Medicine cabinet in the bathroom, and when the workers were gone.....so were my pain pills. I contacted the company, then filed a police report, then, when nothing came of it, I contacted my doc. They gave me a new prescription, told me to not run it through insurance, meaning pay the full "screw me hard" price......and to never let this happen again. So, since then.....my pills are NEVER farther away from me than my pocket......and next to my concealed carry permit and sidearm......NO ONE WILL EVER STEAL MY MEDS AGAIN!!

I hope y'all find a decent doc and some relief. Between my Vicodin and stretching that out with Kratom, I carry on a fairly normal life. For instance, today is my 49th birthday, my family and I are headed up to the mountains behind Central city for fishing and shooting our numerous firearms. Then, hopefully a fresh caught Trout birthday dinner! Take care y'all!!

Last exit and Rainbowflowers, I too just can't get the needed Relief, from Lincoln ,or what works and he will write but my insurance won't pay.
My biggest concern is the first initial payment.
What a luxury to have to only go in every other month.
If I can get my funds together my goal will be to get in with Dex by beginning of call.
I do however consume marijuana to help with the pain too.
I wonder if that would be a problem with Dex.

5252 Tae,

Colorado Pain Relief in Wheat Ridge Colorado works with both of those medications. Be forewarned, they do U/A's every month, you must have a medical history, you CAN NOT use Marijuana, they take cash only. There is an actual doctor, you will need to have an annual blood test at your primary care physician to confirm your liver and other organs are functioning properly. I really like them, they are like a family. nAnd they don't take any BS.

Has anyone seen this? I just saw these two things today:

cnn.com/2017/06/08/health/fda-opioid-opana-er-bn

nj.com/opinion/index.ssf/2017/06/prescribers_must_be_first_line_of_defense_against.html

This scares the daylights out of me, I pray they don't take away the only life giving thing I have!
