My pain management doc got investigated and now hes closed his practice down. I was getting 30mg oxycodone 5 times a day and morphine 15mg 2 times a day. Does anybody know a doctor in huntsville alabama that will keep me on my meds, need answer ASAP!

Hi I am disabled I moved to decade alabama I plead for help I can't find a doctor, I have been on roxy 30's for 5 years and Lyrica please help I can't go on any longer I sit in my wheelchair and I cry and I have grown children if it weren't for them I rater not say what I think of doing, I will do anything to not hurt like this anymore I have went to emergency room and they give you shot, and tell me have I tried rehab, I have called and they said with all my physical problems there is no way it would help me

To Tired Of It: I don't get pain shots there and have been going for 5 years now. Dr. told me plainly that he offers the shots, etc. but wouldn't push them on me and he hasn't. Hope this helps..

Ha!! If you go along with their "pain shots" therapy, they will prescribe...if that type of therapy doesn't help you, then they have no help for you.

TO CAROL: Try North Alabama Pain Clinic in Madison or Decatur... They are hard to try and get into unless your Dr. actually calls them himself...If I were you I would sit in your regular Dr's office until they called the North Alabama Pain Clinic... So far, so good, but let me stress to you one thing. The first time you see the Dr. you best make sure you tell him everything that you want him to know because usually after that you will only see the Nurses.. Hope this helps....

hi I am a doctor and I am aloud to give any pain kellers I want to to any people reagardless off the law.i give oxycodone to any one with a hang over and if they good a majour headack..if u in pain that's the last I give out tho.but dhc codine is fine for any one as I am a doctor been on drugs for pain my self for 15 years now I I take dhc codine and its healthy for u to brings out all that nasty flem

I know what u mean yes I am in huntsville use to use a pharmacy for awhile no problems then go in oh we are out of these seems like I find a pharmacy and it's ok for like 3 months then they are out and don't know when they are getting more in what are the names of some of these small pharmacies ?

Pain, are you in the Huntsville area? I've found that the smaller pharmacies are much more likely to fill presciptions like that, over the ones like Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, etc.
I always try to be overly friendly too. Sucks we gotta basically kiss their you know what, but we do and they know they can get away with it.
Many of the pharmacies say they can't fill due to one rule or another but then I've went back the next month, spoke with someone else, they tell me the exact oppiopposite and I get the same med filled in 5 min. (This goes for the major chains as well.)
Many pharmacists are just like doctors nowadays.... they treat everyone that they meet for the first time like addicts and if they don't like you for whatever reason then you're just screwed. If they REALLY don't like you, then they can put In a call to other local pharmacies to warn them you may be coming before you even set foot outside the store. I've (thankfully) never had to deal with that but have heard enough horror stories to know this is starting to happen more frequently.
There use to be a blog I read that was written by a pharmacist and he basically was just a 100% Grade A you know what, always bashing the patients. (The Angry Pharmacist I think, or something like that.) Really gives a lot of insight into how some of these guys think.

The bad part is you can't get the meds you get perscribed the pharmacy is always out of the oxy 30 and I hate going from pharmacy to pharmacy if anyone knows a pharmacy that has this medication on a regular basis let me know please

I agree I wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy and that dr did help some people. I feel sorry for his patients. That left some people in a tight spot. the hardest part is getting a new dr that is willing to accept new patients. there used to be a walk in clinic on University Blvd 72 like coming from Florence on the left as you get into Huntsville with a woman who was sympathetic to your situation.

That is a lot of medicine but ive seen people get way more like 10 times and he will find another doctor to write the prescription, if he has the records. It doesn't look good bringing prescription history to a new doctor and saying would you continue me on this my last doctor was shutdown! lol aggerwall was really giving out a lot of medicine to some people but I wonder what it takes for the DEA to shut you down? I mean some doctors I know of have been prescribing like that for years but they always have Xrays MRIs and justification. There use to be a doctor in Fayetteville, TN who prescribed more medicine than I thought was legal. I have disc problems bulging from car wreck and take nothing right now but have. He treated a friend of mine and once it cost over 3000$ to fill all of his medicine brand name. He said once the police was harassing him and said why are you corrupting our town here with overmedicating and he told him youre out there arresting people who commit crimes to get dope and I just give them enough so that they wont run out. Well they shut his tail down.

My dr also just got shut down. He wasn't a pill pusher, just a caring doctor who would take time to listen. He literally gave my mom her life back when she started seeing him. She is on a low dose of Methadone for very real chronic pain. She has a number of health issues and records to prove it. I've always read posts about people looking for "compassionate" doctors and thought more then likely it's prob some teen looking for drugs. Now we're in the same boat bc her meds are practicality up. Does anyone know of a doctor that will keep her on this med or at least taper her off? She is scared to death and I just don't knew what to do. We don't want a bunch of oxy or morphine.... just someone to help so she won't go through withdrawls. Methadone has been used for chronic pain for years but so many doctors hear about it and instantly think crack head!
So anyway...Im looking for a doctor as well in AL Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I understand your pain. If some of the people in the DEA ever experienced just some of the pain we as chronic pain patients have to go through 24/7 then in my opinion they would be more passionate. Yes, I understand they are doing there job but people have pain and the way they are handling things then Pain Doctors are going to be far and few to find. I have heard that some of the people that are attending college now to become Pain Management Doctors are changing their minds and are just going to be regular Doctors now. It's such a shame. This is suppose to be THE LAND OF THE FREE... I say BS on that. This nation is becoming communist. Before to long the gov't will be controlling all of us unless we take a stand. Just my opinion....

You may and probably are right in saying that some people may not really need the pain medicine but I can assure you that many people do need pain medication. I wish that the state I live in would legalize MEDICAL MARIJUANA. I know my best friend moved to Colorado and she is doing so much better with the MM. She is off pain medication and is finally living more of a normal life....

I use Neurology Associates, they require medical history, but if you have a neurological problem with pain history they will prescribe. Good luck I hope you find some help soon.
