Doctors Who Prescribe Pain Killers In Philadelphia (Page 60)

Hi,

My current doctor has decided that it would be best to stop my monthly prescription for 30mg percocets. I have chronic back pain from skiing injuries and other sports related problems. I have never abused or taken more than was suggested. I never got "high" and was always able to work and interact with clients in a positive way. Now without the medication, the pain is becoming a distraction. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't scared to prescribe common pain killers. They are produced for a reason, but recent uptake in illegal abuse has made doctors uneasy with long term prescriptions? I live in the Philadelphia area (main line) but I am familiar with the greater Philadelphia metro area. Thank you and kind regards.

Lisa I really hope someone can suggest a dr that can help you. It's disgusting that anyone has to live in pain. And unless you're one of those people that live in pain you will need understand how it feels. I Get Bad Spasms FROM My neurological disease so.I take Gabapentin then but I cut way back on stuff. I hate to say it but when I'm on bed I really don't have pain which is a blessing but it cuts down on the meds I gave to take. I really hope you find a dr to give you some relief. It's a terrible way to live.

Tigerett, I must agree that DEA had messed up so many ppl in Severe Chronic Pain. How can the medical profession allow DEA to control all the Chronic pain Dr's treating with opiates. I'm 60 & have had weak bones since my 40s. My body seems to be absorbing my body's bone. I had a pain dr tell me that he could make my damaged 60 yr old body to a healthy state. Dr's only fear DEA & don't want to look at an older woman in chronic pain enough to treat with opiates so I can function in my small apt. I'll never be able to do therapy as he wants & don't want to look at real life of a 60 yr old other than lie through their teeth & say they can make my 60 yr old body stronger! Most women's body's do (even healthy women) fail over age 50. I've got osteoporosis now on top of failed neck surgery & big surgery to save my rt. leg. Since my osteoporosis my back is unbearable. Cant eat or sleep. I can't even get help to sleep. That would be RELIEF AT LEAST while sleeping but I get no help. DEA is not a medical profession. Check out statistics on opiate use & OD due to illicit drugs have increased since the DEA got involved in chronic pain. See if I'm lying?

I do understand bout the OD, but if Drs checked in to more of the patient to see if they really need it I think it wouldn't go so far, I have had so many test done to prove my condition, but I can't see how they can let the people suffer in pain or go into withdraws on there own, this is the only other way I can get any relief and sleep, I'm going to a pain management to see if they can help,

I go to mid atlantic spine and pain mgmt in newark, delaware, but my prior pain mgmt dr had to send them all the records for them to accept me so i hope you have copies of your prior eecords because most des wont take you on without them and you cant make an initial appt without being accepted as a patient

Can you please share the same information with me? Your doctor's name and number and possibly his address? I saw your post and really need to set an appointment because I just moved out here to philly from jersey again. I suffer from 2 herniated disks from a car accident in 2009 and dont know anything about the doctors out here. I would really appreciate it and if i were you id keep it confidential too because then EVERYONE would be going. I really need your help. Thanks in advance.

{edited for privacy}. I'm in need of a good doctor. I'm taking Ultram and I still have severe pain. My quality of life is basically being able to walk a few minutes before I have to sit or lay down because of extreme pain in my lower back. I do have an MRI from 3 years ago, compressed discs and curvature. I have no problem getting my rx for Ultram and yes that is highly addictive also as it is a synthetic opiate. My problem is it does not last and doesn't allow me to do much without excruciating pain. Why bother hanging around if all that is left is pain, pain so bad you're stuck in the confines of your home.

I have been on Ultram for 12 years, I need a doctor who can help me gain some quality of life back. I'm tired of being in pain and stuck in my house.

My doctor has been treating me chronic knee and shoulder pain with oxycodone 30. He's told me I need to see a pain management doctor because federal guidelines state as if dec 31 of this year he will not be able to prescribe them. I've weened myself off them and I find my life has taken to sitting around due to way too much pain. I go to water aerobic therapy 4xweekly and it's all good until I get out if the water. Can anyone help!

I am in serious pain, just had 2 surgeries on my foot, plus I have chronic back pain and tendinitis, just to list a few. But I really need a doctor that will help me. Any recommendations? {edited for privacy}

Its really bad for the people who need that medication my doctor decided he didn't want to give out pain meds So that was it cold turkey sick as a dog for weeks.After i had neck and sholder surgery years past .I went to these so called pain management but it was a 3 step process that could have taken over 90 days and u we're still not guarantee to get meds so know so its just suffer

Hey Rc philadelphia, I am also looking for a pain management doctor and having trouble finding one that would treat me. I have hemicranium countinuim (that means I have a migraine all of the time in varying degrees of pain). I have seen multiple neurologists and they give me all of the migraine medicine possible for me to try, but none of them worked, so they referred me to pain management. Even if someone else has information please reply.

Can you please give me the dr name? I'm sitting here in a lot of pain. Trying to hold out from taking my oxycodone. I only get 2 a day. I have not been to sleep yet bc of the pain. So yes I've been up all night. {edited for privacy}
