Carmine,

I hear you brother. I'm glad your finally getting some relief. It's so very true, I made that mistake just once and soon there after my doctor was deluged with addicts looking to score. Thank god that problem was eradicated rapidly (by their top shelf vigilant administrator) and those users systematically dismissed. No harm came to us genuine patients needing treatment for chronic intractable pain issues. What I recommend to those "in great need of doctors" Research, do the footwork yourself if your condition is verifiable and documentation exists there are many providers willing to treat you ACCORDING TO THE NORMS ESTABLISHED FOR THE CARE OF INTRACTABLE PAIN PATIENTS. Gone are the old days of unlimited oxycodone, xanax, soma, dilaudid and god knows what else some used for recreational purposes. EVERYONE DESERVES TREATMENT EVEN THOSE ADDICTED TO THESE SUBSTANCES but not in the way pain patients are cared for. For those addicted there are wonderful options available. Methadone, Suboxone and Clonidine to name a few. These treatments can be life affirming and shame should never preclude you from seeking care. I come from a family ravaged by this disease so I can speak to the destruction active addiction poses to all parties concerned. Hold your head up high and simply ask to get well...... God bless everyone

Not giving direct names of doctors on here I am sorry, but to those that are looking, if you do your own research they aren't that hard to find. Try propublica, it tells you what drs in your area give out the most meds. It hasn't been updated in a few years, but you get the jist. Vitals.com, healthgrades, check into some reviews of pain clinics in your area and you will catch on quick. It's not as difficult as people make it out to be.

@Carmine ....I was thinking about you today and wondering how you were doing and feeling? I remember you said you were seeing a new doc in new jersey and the 10th and since that was last week I wanted to catch up and see how you made out? Are you totally done at the UC? And was the new practice able to help? In my thoughts !

Doctor now has been going to physical therapy twice a week in order to keep receiving my pain meds. I was pissed at first just not knowing when I would find the time to go but I actually find the therapy to be working quite well. Very sore directly after but noticing that in the grand scheme of things I am feeling a little bit better and seem to be developing better range of motion, slowly but better then not at all. Carmine how is the new doctor treating you?

Hi there! Im Having some serious issues with finding a doctor that is willing to help me. I have state insurance and had to change doctors. I have been on pain meds for years due to my having MS along with kidney stones...renal colic...and renal reflux...I already had my right kidney removed. Anyway this new doctor sent me to pain management. they actually told me that the only reason I should be on pain meds is if I have cancer. Then ordered a ton of tests on my spine. I don't have spinal issues that's NOT where my pain is coming from and NEVER had been. He was VERY NASTY and I really don't know what to do.. Do you know of a doctor in my area that will help me? I love in Allentown Pa

Kim, I am going to refer you to 2 places that will help you, I have experienced both places and I only left bc I relocated but I have friends who still go. Dr Beth Cohen in east stroudsburg and Dr. Ko Dong (prob your best bet) - he is pain mgmt and is at the Tilghman Medical Center/Urgent Care on Tilghman St in Allentown. Any Dr there is wonderful, the place is wonderful for pain mgmt and will help you with meds as well. Only bad part is, neither of them accept state insurance. Honestly I haven't found a pain Dr yet that will take it. You will have to shell out $80 bucks for the appt every month but your state insurance will cover your scripts 100%. Trust me even the place I go to now says they accept medical assistance and then when I said I'm coming here for pain mgmt they said "oh no we don't accept it for that you have to pay cash" ...sounds like a crock of s*** to me but it's a small price to pay. $80 per month isn't bad, at least it covers the scripts. Give Tilghman medical center a call, you'll need your past records and the last 6 months of your pharmacy records and they will get you right in. Good luck!

Nancy I used to go to Dr Cohen but I haven't been a patient there in a few years due to relocation. What exactly do you have going on with you, problem wise, if you don't mind me asking? I mean I don't know what you want to know about her...her staff were always very kind to me, she always perscribed me my meds as well, her practice was were I started on roxicodone, moving up from regular p10's. Good luck! I honestly don't know if they are taking new patients, give them a call and see. Lmk how you make out!

I have fibromyalgia along with severe migraines and IBS but fibro is the main problem. I am getting 2 Percocets per day 7.5 mg from my family dr n he will not up the disagree or even increase to one more pill per day n says I will need to go to pain management. Some days pain is so severe I can barely move or get out of bed. I do want to see a pain management dr so just wondering how she was about possibly increasing my pain meds cuz I gave heard of done that will try inj's. or PT n not even give meds which would not be possible with fibro cuz pain is thru my whole body. Thanks so much for ur help

Carmine, I relocated and I don't have my license so I had to find a place in Scranton. Allentown is a little over an hour from here. There was no way I could get there every month, so I started to going to that Kurt Moran on green ridge street in Scranton and after so long he kicked me out because I didn't show for a pill count, I explained all that to you, haha. So yes I am still going to the dr you gave me and I am pretty happy with him. How are you making out in new jersey?

Nikki,

NO the doctor was horses***, tried to give me vicodin 10. I was super upset... it's like robbing me telling me he would be able to help then take my money and pull that s***...... and the place u go to still got me at four 20s a day which just keeps me not sick. Do you go there on a monthly basis or Tuesday? Or do u go on a Thursday or Friday?

I go every other week on a biweekly basis. Damn I'm sorry that happened to you, try Kurt Moran in greenridge. That was the practice that discharged me but they will give you whatever you want.

Lol you people are so pathetic playing passive aggressive games trying to get info from one another. It's delusional munchhausings behavior that convinces you that you NEED these rxs . It's people like you that find it impossible to find care . My god go for treatment or get on a ort program methadone and suboxone have pain killing properties if that's what you believe your issue is, just being real!!!!!!
