Do Different Mg Ops Have Tracers In Them For Uas?

Updated

I am prescribed for 30mg OP's and am in a ton of pain and can buy 80mg OP's, but I am wondering if it will show up in an UA that I took an 80 along with my 30? Please help

First - gotta say that if the 30's are cutting it, Tell Your Doc! Find a way to negotiate w/him or her.... Have you ever "lost" pills or "scripts" or "your pocketbook", or do you drink a lot and they know?" If not, then why can't you get more meds??

How long have you been on OP's - whatever they are. Was on Opana's - 2x's strong as methadone/Oxycodone/Oxycontin/Morphine, etc. for 6 yrs and just went down 75% and am taking methadone-FOR PAIN- made sure he put that on the bottle!

Anyway, if U aren't straight w/your doc, one day you'll run out of 80's and be in tough waters - the 30's act totally differently than the 80's - Whateve the drug! And since Opana doesn't come in 80's - you must be talking Oxycontin?? Or ???

Re: Your Question Though - It depends on the test... Every Co. makes different tests; every doc orders tests that tell them just what they want to know.....Does everyone get tested? Are U in a program? If yes to first - try to get more pain meds. If you are in a program, don't test the waters too much or you may end up with nothing...

I feel ya - that's why I decided to live w/pain then go through this hassle all the time - even though I was getting worse; no operations either....Some day I will go down on Methadone and off - but I'll wait until I need to. I've ALWAYS been up front and truthful w/my pain doc - had same on I see 1/month-no exceptions-for over 10 yrs...

Don't Stress & Don't Worry...Google & see how to talk to your doc about going up on meds. One tip is don't say the name of the med - just say - "my pain medications aren't working as well as they used to;" or "I'm experiencing a lot of pain in between periods where I take my OP's - and find a solution you like - and ask him/her..."Some" docs need you to say what it is you want - what is the problem - and what is the solution - and why do you think that that would work for you better than the 30's you are on now.....Tell him/her Your Truth - Not What I Just Said....

I don't know your background - but I do know Pain Management - been in it for 20 yrs...but again, in all the yrs I've had This Rehab doc, I've taken every med he gave me - narc or not - I just can't take changing drugs and waiting 30 days for my body to create new neuro pathways, etc. and go through withdrawal every time I change - whether Up or Down... I'd rather take 30-50 days and just get off..... Our bodies are Miraculous - once we stop w/the pain meds our bodies will again learn how to send the right signals to the brain to stop the brain and create the right chemicals....

Here's Hoping We Both Get What We WANT! - Be Up Front - Delicate, but truthful and Above All - Don't whine or Cry or say how much it hurts - They hear that all day! When I see people fill out their forms with a 10 (being the highest) I just laugh!

I had a Radical Hysterectomy that they had to cut crossways because my uterus was so large due to all the fibroids...They forgot to give me my 360mgs/day for over 24 hrs - spent 6 1/2 hrs in Recovery Rm AND I couldn't talk because I was anesthetized - but aware of the pain - OH Was I Aware Of The Pain...THAT was 10!

Don't Worry! And you normally go Vicodin, then Percocet, then Roxicodone - up to 30 mgs w/o Acetaminophen, then possibly 12 hr's like Morphine....Once you get to the 12 hours there IS NO turning back....So think - U really want to live like that for the rest of your life? I thought I did - was in so much pain - but I'm working on it - Myself and getting better results...Here's Hoping You Get What You Need! Best of Luck!!.

I am very honest with my doctor and can get more meds, but i tweaked the injury and where I live there are no pain management doctors.. I have to drive 2 hours away to see my doc and cant drive or sit in a car that long right now.. I am looking for quick relief until I can see a chiropractor tomorrow and a surgeon in a couple weeks.. this is not for recreational use, but I have to take UAs and dont want to screw up my pain management dr. relationship.......

Crud...... Maybe your IM can help you out..... Even if you'd call, they wouldn't help u out...2 hours! Whoa! Bummer...

Yup, you're better w/Pain Rehab Doc - or your Surgeon - Guess you're on Post Op Meds.... Couldn't understand why I didn't get it - because No One I know gets an operation - and when I left the hospital, I had to use my OWN MEDS - because hospitals don't carry Brand Meds as a rule and they gave me 1 out of 3 for 7 days - Whoopie!

Hang in there - No Stress....Try again.... So sorry I couldn't help - I didn't even know OP's had tracers... But I do know I NEVER got any HELP: from any NeuroSurg, OrthoPOD-my nickname - or even a Neuro.

Wish You Well AND OUT OF PAIN! Be Kind to Yourself! And Know You're Not Alone......

Re-post so someone who knows more can help U out....But I did a lot of research on UA's and all drug tests and it does come down to MFG and What Doc orders..Took me forever!

It really depends on what type of test they are doing. Most of the basic urine tests will just show the presence of the opiate, Oxycodone. However, there are more precise tests that can show the levels that are in your body, so it would be obvious if you took more than you are supposed to take.

Do you know what type of test your doctor is using? Is it a 5 panel, 12 panel or etc.?
