I quit taking ambien at night to go to sleep. I have been taking one regular aleve at bedtime to go to sleep for about three years. I have heard that can cause diverticulitis. Should I get off of that and if I need to what else could I take for sleeping.

There are always medical conditions that could be caused, or contributed to, by any given medication, bother over the counter, and prescription, however, it is also important to remember that the risk is very small, they only occur in a very small percentage of people that take them.
With the Naproxen in Aleve, you are more likely to experience nausea, dizziness, headache, blood thinning, and stomach irritation.
Do you have a medical history of Diverticulitis?
