Dilaudid Hydromorphone Toradol Ketorolac And Morphine Via Iv Injection

Updated

I need to find a test to find if I was, in fact, given Dilaudid 2 shots, Toradol 8mg and Morphine 8mg in the ER via IV injection. Valium 10mg, first, then 2 shots of Dilaudid and Toradol 4 to 8mg all at the same time. One hour later I was given 8mg of Morphine....I only felt the Valium and no relief from the pain. I released myself AMA and the hospital is conducting an Internal Investigation as their records show I was indeed given ALL these medications. They want to know who or where they went as they are all Schedule 3 Narcotics and I have informed them that I had bloodwork done and am having a Hair Test done which I believe shows when and what drugs have been introduced into my system. If that test in Negative as was the blood tests, then they want to see me about it. HELP ANYONE who knows about this situation or can give me direction, advice or any comments. THANKS ALL!!! {edited for privacy}. I am considering and have contacted the AMA and the Attorney General of PA (TOM CORBETT who is running for Governor)...his staff members helped me with Identity Theft situation and would love this one...!!! Again THANK YOU ALL!!

I do believe you had posted about this the other day.

Whether or not any of these tests can prove that you were given these medications really depends on the time lapse, between when you were given them and when the test was done.

Was yours the prior post that said the blood test was done 12 days later?

If that is the case, then it is not surprising that it did not show up, as most medications will not last that long in the blood stream.

What hospital in PA were you in? Since I had problems with several there myself, that is what I am mostly curious about.

As to the hair test, it will keep the medications for a longer period of time, so they are detectable by testing, but even that is limited. They will eventually start to leach out, due to personal hygiene and exposure to the elements.

As to the Toradol, since that is an anti-inflammatory, you would not get the same effects of it that you would have the narcotics.

However, if you are not used to taking them, you should have felt some effects from the Dilaudid and the Morphine.

I really wish I had more advice for you. But proving, without a doubt, that they did not give you the medications is going to be very difficult.

To The Gentleman or Gentlewoman Who is posting replies about my problem with the hospital here in PA about whether or not I was given certain Pain meds and Toradol (an anti-inflammatory and pain killer). This happened on the 29th to the 20th of January and I had my blood drawn on the 9th of February and am now going to have a Hair Test done as I have been advised by a couple of trusted doctors that this test can tell me when drugs were administered to some degree of certainty and what drugs are in my hair for up to 6 months...and as you stated, that depends on how fast my hair grows and if I cut it, weather damage, etc.. You asked which hospital. It is Lehigh Valley Hospital (Cedar Crest Campus) and I was treated not only like a moron but like a piece of dirt and I am going to do whatever it takes to rectify and get the answers that I know to be true. I did mention that on Dec. 10th, I was also in that same ER and admitted for Pain and I was given Morphine 8mg alone and it put me into OUTER SPACE by itself before I fell asleep; so I do know the effects that certain drugs have on me. You have your answer as to the hospital and I can even tell you the names of 3 doctors and 3 nursed who were involved but that is information that I would prefer to keep to myself and my attorney at this time. Also, I do have a contact in the Attorney General's office (TOM CORBETT is our ATTY. GEN. and he is running for governor and is a very tough and hardcore go-getter) and will not hesitate to drop in or make a phone call or let the hospital SERVICE EXCELLENCE staff members know of my intentions. I don't want to hurt anyone but the way I was treated and the fact that I was not given what I was told I was given (and this is in their records, so, the hospital wants to know what happened also!! It's not just me here!! Hey, thanks for your continued responses and I assume that you have had some type of bad experience in a L.Valley Hospital...I can live with a "bad experience" but I cannot live knowing that high powered drugs are going away, nor can I live with way I was treated when I told them....you didn't give me anything for pain... and I was cursed at by one doctor, an idiot, who I already reported to the AMA as he got pissed off at me for stating my points and I released myself Against Medical Advice...and signed a blank form he THREW at me. I also had to take off all the tabs used for heart monitoring, my blood was everywhere, I took out the cather, the blood pressure monitor cuff and had to hang on to my girlfriend as I left...i.e. the hospital policy of Using a Wheelchair for ALL Admitted ER Patients was not adhered to at all!!!

My daughter received 15 mg of Torodol, 8 mg of Morphine, I mg of Dilaudid, went into a seizure, received Ativan still convulsing, 1:15 minutes later I was cursing the staff and her convulsons had not stopped, I had told them not to administer the Dilauded,
They almost killed her, and told me she was making it up for attention, When I asked for the # of a private ambulance and the hospital administer's #, they decided they would treat her voluntary convulsons, which she was exhibiting for attention 1 1/2 hrs after they gave her Benadryl 25 mg and halidol 2 mg, all these meds were IV, she came in with brachycardia, we just got home, I am reporting them to the state and the federal govt, I told them not to give the Dilauded, they tried to leave the script page out of her orders, I took it. they also gave her Sod Chlorine, 1 litre as she was dehydrated, this all very naughty, they almost killed my daughter, and to say she was faking it and ignoring her acute convulsions s a crime. I wll be able to do more research tomorrow, but I told them they caused the seizures and they decided to become rude and she convulsed all that time and noone in the ER would help me, she had renal issues too, be afraid be very afraid this would have been neglient homicide.had I not pitched a fit. I may be able to call you tomorrow

I had a similar situation, but at a hospital in a different state. I went to the ER for severe pain, but specifically told the Dr. to not give me a lot of pain med, as I know that my body can't handle it. After a dose of Morphine that was higher than what I was told I'd be given, a dose of Ketorolac that I didn't know I recieved (I thought they were giving me something for nausea), and another dose of Morphine, I told the nurse that I felt so sick and didn't want any more pain meds even though I was in pain. I just wanted to get my MRI. At that point, I was admitted into the hospital and given at least 4 more doses of pain meds including Dilauded, hydromorphone...I then became completely unresponsive. They had to give me something to reverse the pain meds out of my system. I was told by a nurse that I went into seizures when I awoke. My friend arrived at that time and said nobody was even in the room with me and it looked like i was having a seizure-I dont know, b/c I've never had one before. The nurse told him- yea, she's been like that...try to wake her out of it! Throughout my stay, I had different stories coming from different Dr's about what happened- nobody was consistent in telling me what/how much medication I actually received, or what happened afterwards. They were all trying to cover up and even went as far as calling all of my Dr's and pharmacies to see if I was a drug abuser...which I am not- I barely even take medication at all. The whole time I was in the hospital, it was a horrible experience- traumatic to say the least...they were all looking at me like I was a bad person or did something wrong. I am so traumatized by this, that I don't ever want to step foot in a hospital again.
...Did you guys end up getting answers? Did you get a copy of your chart?

I am in fact on 4mg dilaudid orally and 10 mg diazepam (valium) and ketorolac (toridol) 10 mg. Also i have been on them for about two months now. At first I couldn't stay awake for more than a couple hours without falling asleep and not realizing I even had. Now, two months later I'm finding myself in pain again and I'm back to not being able to get comfortable at night to sleep...as I lay here typing this its currently 3am. I've been fighting with workers compensation now for three years and just started getting my surgeries taken care of...and according to my doctor it was just in time due to the severe case of spinal stenosis that was occurring in my thoracic spine..nearly leaving me in a wheelchair at the age of 30. I'm sorry about what they did to you in Pennsylvania. I have family in a small town called robison Pa. I can tell you from my experience upstate NY is just as bad if not worse. I didn't receive a dime from workers comp for two years. They refused to pay my mileage vouchers stating a man with a vehicle can drive while I had to pay for cabs because of all the narcotics I have to take..I felt it was the only responsible thing to do....but apparently if you have your handicap tag in your windshield its OK to drive......at least according to the insurance company representing my former employer. In some cases I think they have a point simply because my tolerance to my medication is increasing on a daily basis and I'm immune to morphine both injection and oral. Sorry to hear about what happened to you once again. I hope for your sake you have spoken to an attorney... Malpractice is increasing rapidly by my experiences and I retain an attorney for workers compensation and the malpractice suit I have against my local doctor who originally diagnosed me with "a pulled muscle in my back" gave me 600 mg ibprophun and told me to take a hot bath and I'd be back to work in the morning. Then when I had to call 911 several times before my case started they said I was just seeking drugs and that I was habitually going to the er without ever even getting an x-ray or an MRI. My attorney sent me to get them and get in pain management right away because according to a chiropractor he "hadn't seen a spine as f'd up as mine in his 35 years of practice" he refused any and all treatment to my spine and set me up with decompression treatment and hydro therapy. All because of my attorney I'm walking and bending over and dressing myself... All of which caused me immense pain before my surgeries. I've had 6 so far two were emergency surgeries because I guess the cord in my spine was so pinched it was starting to sever. My attorney and my surgeon saved my life....definitely my legs at the very least. So I'd highly recommend legal council.

Wow. Taking off your no cuff, ekg tabs and walk out. Thsts what happens when you leave AMA. Also a 5yr old could do it. When you take out your IV you should be smart enough to put pressure on it, like you see the nurses do. I doubt you had blood everywhere. Seems like you greatly exaggerate

IV/IM toradol is not administered in 4 or 8 mg. IV amounts are 15mg or 30mg and IM 15/30/60 only. Hope you resolve your issue.

I read all these stories. I have chronic migraines, which means I wake up every morning with stabbing pain behind my left eye. I go to the emergency room often and I get a toradol shot, that's it. I'm 51 years old and have had this disease since before 2005. I live in a city where drugs are everywhere. So to the people who are able to get some relief, stop b****ing and be thankful you have a Dr in your city that will help you. In the state of Louisiana, you get nothing. Try living life in constant pain and no one cares or understands.
