i'm 42 yrs old female nd hav been taking metzok 50 for the past 3 yrs ..my bp is now normal nd so can i stop the medicine......does taking metzok 50 cause joint pain ## I am 62, female diabetic taking Metzok 50 since last three years along with losar 50. My BP is almost normal. Can I stop losar 50 and continue only Metzok 50? ## Both of you should consult your respective doctors. The issue here is that the medication may be only maintaining your blood pressure at a normal level and, without treatment, it may start to elevate again, which may be dangerous. In addition, an abrupt cessation of this medication could cause rebound effects, which may result in severely elevated blood pressure and heart rate, which could cause heart attack or stroke. What have your doctors advised?

PLEASE CAN YOU INDICATE EXACTLY WHAT THIS MEDICATION IS ALL ABOUT, I AM LED TO BELIEVE THAT THIS MEDICATION IS SUPPOSED TO HELP WITH DIABETIC NEUROPATHY. ## Have you tried asking your doctor, or pharmacist? Unfortunately, this isn't used in the U.S. and Canada, so I can't find any detailed information on it. Does anyone else know what this is and what it's used for? ## Actully I am informed that this medication is infact used in the USA as apparently Doctors would nromally start the pacient with injections, then switch to pills.

I take coveram 5/5 for blood pressure one tablet in the morning and 2.5mg doanil for diabatic,I read on the coveram leaflet that coveram effect dibatic medicine .so please advise on the effect of coveram on the glucose level .Thanks ## Coveram contains the active ingredients Amlodipine and Perindopril and taking the Perindopril with the Daonil can make the Daonil more effect, which increases the risk of developing low blood sugar. Is your doctor aware that you are taking both of these medications? If so, they should have carefully considered the dosage and they should be monitoring your regularly for any problems.

I am Diabetic, and used to get a lot of very painful Cramps, mainly at nights. 2-3 per night, 4 -5 times a week. I'd tried most things, but with little effect. So I discovered that what would help was Potassium and Magnesium, as it feeds the Muscles. Tried an effervencent pill, and that gave me violant diarrhoea. (Aquilea). Then I was told to try half a Banana a day. I have now been 95% free of Cramps for 3 years. Great. ## Very glad you found something that helped you. Yes, the potassium is especially important to our muscle health and, if you are low in it, it will often cause bad muscle cramping. However, too much of it can also be dangerous, so please make sure you don't overdo it. There is a blood test your doctor can do to check the level for you. I always drop low, for re...

I am diabetic and have high blood pressure. For diabetes I am on Glucophage XR 500mg (3 tabs a day) and for high blood pressure I have been taking Approval 300mg. Recently my doctor reduced my Glucophage to 2 tabs a day, the Approval to 150mg and added Concur 2.5mg. I want to know why Concur as this is a beta drug and read that it will camoflouge my sugar levels. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks. ## Have you asked your doctor why he wants you to take this one? Concor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, it is a beta blocker and, as such, it can mask some of the signs of low blood sugar, such as accelerated heart rate, since it can slow the heart rate. This doesn't mean that diabetics can't take it, but you should be aware of this, so you know to check your sugar level regul...

I was recently switched from Glyburid-Metformin to Metformin HCL 500 MG - I have been experiencing frequent migrane headaches (daily) and have put on over 5 lbs in 2 weeks. Also my blood sugar numbers are higher especially in the morning. Only benefit is that there have been no more low readings. ## Have you consulted your doctor? Suddenly stopping any medication that you've been taking for a long period of time may result in some withdrawal and rebound effects, which may explain your symptoms, but you should talk to your doctor about it, to be certain. Has there been any improvement, yet? ## I switched back two days ago. Headaches still happening but not nearly as severe. Low sugar reading happened once.

Does Metnax cause dry mouth and buring tongue irratition? Been taking two tabs per day for about 5 months and the last two mouths my mouth is dry and tongue always irritated. ## Metanx is a B complex nutritional supplement that's specially formulated to help with conditions such as neuropathy. However, as such, it's really not tested for side effects, as is done with actual prescription medications and it's always difficult to say how it may affect any given person that takes it. Have you discussed these symptoms with your doctor?

The doctors believe my good friend has fiber myalgia. They recommend a gluten free diet because she is suffering from major bloating and joint pain, waking up with with severe burning in her hand. She can't sleep because its too painful. I'm trying to discover what medications have gluten in them. Its one thing we haven't considered. ## Well, first glucose and gluten aren't the same thing. Gluten, however, is the one you're probably talking about, because it has been known to cause these problems in some people. As to the medications that contain it, that would be most of them that are on the market, so I couldn't possibly list them all here. However, if you can post back with a specific list of the medications she takes, I will gladly check for you to see which ...

Can they be used together? ## Janumet XR contains the active ingredients Metformin and Sitagliptin in a time released formulation to help better lower and control blood sugar in diabetic people. The Glipizide is a different oral antidiabetic medication. Has your doctor instructed you to use both medications? They can be taken together, but only if someone is experiencing high sugar levels that are hard to control, because it increase the risk of hypoglycemia. ## The active ingredients of Janumet XR are Sitagliptin + Metaformin. Both of these medications are used in the management of type 2 diabetes. Glipizide is generally used along with diet and exercise, and (sometimes) with other medications, to treat type 2 dia...

I am experiencing unexplained bruising on my upper arm and inner thigh. I told my doctor about, but she said Megan's wouldn't cause and that it's a good med w good vitamins. I didn't tell her I also take B6 every but have seen on line that I could be taking too many vitamins. I've stopped taking the Metanx to see if the bruising stops. ## You should call your doctor and tell her that fact. Yes, there can be severe problems that arise if you are taking too much of anything, even vitamins and the B vitamins can be especially problematic. Even if the bruising stops, you may have done some permanent damage, that you should be tested for. Did she check your vitamin levels with a blood test?

Just got my Metformin ER 750 refilled. The pills look different... could be different manufacturer? One has 93 on one side and 7212 on the other. The other has 143 stamped on one side and nothing I can see on the other side. Help? ## Yes, they are both the same medication, a controlled release formulation of Metformin in a 750mg dosage. The one with the 93 is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and the 143 is manufactured by Sun Pharmaceuticals. It is common for the pharmacy to switch which generic they supply, depending on which company was offering the cheapest price, when they needed to restock their supply.
