Dextroamp Amphet Side 5mg Effects

My 5yr old was started on dextroamp amphet 5 mg 4days ago. Since he is a lot calmer and focused at school (he was very hyper and unfocused b4 which caused problems) which is good but he doesn't seem as happy as he use to be and seems to have lost a spark to him. Im calling the dr tomarrow but wanted to see if this is common since I haven't seen anything in the sideeffects on this.

Well, you basically are adding a foreign chemical to the body to try to correct unwanted behavior, so such changes can occur.

There are many parents that notice such things when their children take these types of medications, because it's going to affect them all the time, not just while they're at school.

Did you talk to his doctor about it, yet?

Hi,
I wanted to let you know, that the same thing happened to me.. the Dex. Worked really well, I was more focused, calmer..but where I used to be able to get excited over a cup of coffee.. I had to dig deep to find joy.. I was used to giving up something when I started a new med, just to get rid of something else.. but it went away! My happiness did come back..
