can i use decdan and practin for 2 month without any side effect ## Sir...this medicin have side effect??? ## All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, Decdan contains a steroid class medication called Dexamethasone, and Practin contains Cyproheptadine. The NIH lists possible side effects as including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, extreme weight gain, fluid retention, insomnia, nervousness, and irritability. pink capsule ## I was a hospice nurse years ago when pharmacies had to compound this 5 agent anti-nausea medication. They could make it in a capsule or suppository form. It contained: 10mg each of dexamethasone(Decadron) and motoclopramide(Reglan) 50mg of Dramamine,25 mg diphenhydramine(Benedryl) and 2mg of Cogentin. Originally used as an adjunct to chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting, it became a highly therapeutic choice for hospice patients as well. Hospice contined to use it even after Zofran was introduced because it was a much less expensive alternative. And highly effective! is it still being manufactured? it is no longer sold in the Arab world....many pharmacist claimed that it has been banned because of serious side effect...is it true? can I by it by mail through internet? ## Dexa Rhinaspray contains the active ingredients Dexamethasone and Tramazoline and yes, it has been discontinued. I don't have a lot of details on this, but it appears that the Tramazoline was found to cause hypertension in people using it. My father has been diagnosed with lung cancer that metastasized to the brain. First symptoms were loss of control over righ hand and claw like posture of fingers. HE was prescribed dexamethasone to reduce swelling in the brain resulting from metastasis. Stereotactic radio surgery (radiation focused on the metastasis only) was performed to treat brain metastasis. Hello, last week 12-07-16 I got a dexa shot of 2mg for URI and it helped but started to get many adverse side effects like weakness, stomach bloating, hot flashes, body ache, headache dizziness. I still feel unwell, could It be adrenal shutdown? Please help. ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, since it is a steroid type of medicine, according to the FDA. You may also experience nausea, insomnia, nervousness, and fluid retention. If you're worried, it never hurts to have your doctor check things out, though. Are you on any other medications?

Hi Sir, By hearing a friend's advice I have been taking Practin and Dexona since 6 months, but I didn't gain any weight. Now I would like to stop taking this medicine but whenever I stop to take this medicine I found that it cause severe head ache, like migraine.
