My friend has these pills and he has given them to me to help them study for finals. I have taken them a few times and have noticed they have similar effects to adderall. For the first 3-4 hours I have noticed basically the same feeling and mental focus that can be seen after taken adderall. However, this drug doesn't seem to be time-released like many adderall types. Personally, it usually only works well for the first 3-5 hours and then fades.

Adderall is usually prescribed in the form of Adderall XR or extended release. Half of the dose is designed to dissolve immediately lasting for 4 hours, and the second half is absorbed 4 hours later. He has probably given you the generic form of Adderall commonly seen as Amphetamine Salts BRR. It is in essense the same thing except it dissolves all at once and is much cheaper for someone who doesn't have health or prescription insurance. I've taken both before, and it seems that Adderall XR at least for me, works much better for mental focus, energy, euphoria, etc. I started out at 20mg Adderall XR instead of working my way into a higher dose; the side-effects were insomnia, completely loss of appetite and eventual weight loss. However, the benefits as far as i'm concerned highly outweighed the undesirable negatives. RIght now i'm on 10mg. Adderall BRR twice daily. This is a Schedule II controlled substance and should be used with care.

Just started taking the Amphetamine. I was curious if anyone feels like the effect from the pill comes in waves. Like just when you think its worn off you fill a little boost.

I have just recently started taking Amphetimine Salts Combo 20mg. I take one at 8 in the morning and then i have to take another at about 2 in the afternoon. It really helps me focus of things i need to do. Seems to unscramble all my thoughts and lets me think clearly. Also, after about an hour of taking the meds, i seem to get a huge burst of energy!! I feel like i just drank a few red bulls. last for a a few hours. Sometimes feels like my heart is beating faster, but not really sure. Has any one else experienced these side affects.

i have been taking this med for about a week and like some of the other comments it really makes you focus and helps me get things done....but, when it starts to wear off it makes me fill completely horrible shakey,tired, stomach aches, hard to use restroom, and like i have fever also it doesn't let me sleep even hours after i've taken it can anyone relate?? or have suggestions???

I've had some weird side effects to The Salt Combo 20mg. I used to take Aderall 20mg but for some reason without even asking me they switched to the generic brand or something. And all of a sudden I can't even hold me hands out straight without them shaking.

Amphetamine com tab is the generic form of adderall, except that is is not time released. I am proscribed it for my ADHD and i heard that straight from the doctors mouth today

YEAH, MY DOC WRITES OUT 4 MONTHS OF PRESCRIPTIONS EACH VISIT-SAVES ALOT OF HASSLE. I AM GETTING OFF F THIS DRUG AFTER GRAD SCHOOL. I FEAR FOR MY HEART GOING OUT ON ME ONCE I REACH MY THIRTIES, I WOULD SAY WE WILL KNOW THE LONG TERM EFFECTS ON KIDS USING THESE DRUGS FROM AN EARLY AGE IN THE NEXT TEN YEARS OR SO, KIDS SHOULD NOT TAKE THESE DRUGS, 99% OF MY FRIENDS WHO HAVE CURRENT DRUG PROBLEMS TODAY, TOOK RITALIN AT AN EARLY AGE. GET KIDS ON HIGH OCTANE BREAKFAST, IT IS WHAT THEY REALLY NEED, HELL ALL OF US. I MEAN, A HAPPY HYPER CHILD DOES NOT HAVE ANY DISEASE, HE IS A BLOODY CHILD FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. GOOD DAY GOODNIGHT.

D-Amphetamine salt is identical to Adderall it is just the generic version. the one this thread is about is simply not time released. I used to get prescribed adderall but had my doc switch me to the generic to save money on copays. you can even get the generic time released

I have used both the time released adderal and the generic amphetamine over the last four years. with the XR adderal, the side effects were much worse, and i couldnt take it after about 9 in the morning, otherwise i would be unable to sleep at night. i have found that the amphetamine salt combo is much easier to work with, has fewer side effects, and lets me manage my dose depending on what is happening today (ex. sleeping in!).
also, i have noticed that if i take adderal for an extended period of time (1-2months straight), i develop symptoms of paranoia. Not sure if that is supposed to happen.

does any know if you can talk half a dose of the generic version (b 973). i find 20 mg is too much but I've read that you cant split a extended release pill or it will release to much at once. so is b 973 extended release or what?

Adam - you're right in that splitting an extended release tablet will result in getting too much of the medication at once. I am pretty sure that the pill which we're talking about here is not the extended release formulation otherwise it would be a coated tablet. Of course, I could be wrong! I would recommend calling the manfacturer at 888-742-5578 to triple check. One other thing to note is the fact that Barr Labs did a recall of a certain lot of these pills distributed earlier in the year because "some might exceed weight requirements, resulting in super-potency" There is a press release which came out on August 17th 2009 describing this. You can also verify with Barr that you don't have any of the pills from the affected lot # 311756. I hope this info helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or details to add...

I have been taking the genergic time release 4 months now, I have found the dose that works for me at this point, love it! I read a couple of post that state their MD/insurance company's allow 3 month refills on this Schd 2 drug---my Pharmancy will not hear of it.

no insurance or pharmacy will prescribe you 2 months much less 3. I have been on adderall xr, vyvanse and now the amphetamine xr and with all controlled substances you can only get 1 month supply.

to joey....u can get 3 months drugs in advance...it depends w ur insurance...my doc asked about it...either 1 written prescrip/ month or they mail u the drugs from outa state...one of those state laws vs federal

Yea, my dr writes me out 3 months of scripts for my adderall but the pharmacy will only give it to me once a month. Cuz its a controlled substance.
And I live in WI too.

Doctors can legally write up to a 90 day supply for ADHD medications. It's up to your insurance if they'll pay for that or not. However, there are NO refills allowed. If they only pay for 30 days at a time, the other 60 days on the script are void.

This is my 1st day to take the amphetamine salt combo 20mg. It hit me kinda of all of a sudden. I do feel more focused with energy but I'm having a feeling of euphoria. Not sure I want to it to be like this all the time.

I honestly do not know how anyone can that these types of drugs for any length of time and like what they do to ones physiology.
I am one with sever anxiety , dyislexic / ADHD
THESE MEDS UN NERVE MY PHYCI
now I take Lorazapam when anxiety attacks me
And it works for me. Just the lowest dose one tablet helps once or twice a week

Do not know how anyone can take these typesa drugs
I'm ADHD got a phychiatrist for the first time. He tryed 5 different of these Meds on me and honestly. I'd rather deal with the me I am than takes these horrendous anphedamines. I need something to calme me not hype me

I do not get it
Lorazapam is much genteler for me with my anxiety
Wish I woulda stayed with my reg doc who would give me what I needed

I have the same issue with sleep, i am prescribed two 30mg tablets Instant release generic pink adderall daily. I have ADHD. by bed i cannot sleep, i was prrscribed 50mg of seriquil an it knocks me right out. But its a bit hard at first to adjust waking up because feeling groggy.

But adjusting to . Small dose is few days and it helps tremendously. Ill tell ya, a strong med like adderall tho melatonin will not help, its to light an over the counter. My advice. Get . Sleep aid. Atarax is also a seditive,at small doses,very effective.

basically feeling fantabulous, super energy, talkative, clearer thoughts and focus. if u truly have adhd it will supposedly have the opposite effect and calm u.

I did at first not as strong as the sensations you got but I take 6 of the 30mg tablets (quick release) and 1 of the XRs (extended release) and I still sleep for 18 to 20 hours per day. If you can motivate yourself to get up and do something they seem to kick in better and you can feel them better or should I say they work better. Usually I don't feellike getting out of bed or going anywhere or doing anything I have to push myself to get up to fix a sandwh. I think you get amund to any drug no matter how big or small of dose you take. I hope this helps answer your question.

O wow!!! Exactly correct you are Sir. My Doctor put me on Amphetamine SAlt Combo,15mg,peach tablets,and I feel similarly as you. Lol! I thought I'd be able to go to Sleep.... Absolutely not! Instead,ended up tossing and turning,sometimes sweating. Oh,I took 2 as well. Finally,walked my stepson a block away to school. I don't like it. Too Wired!
