Charlotte Nc Pain Management Doctors

Can anybody give me some advice or their own experiences with pain management doctors in Charlotte North Carolina? I suffer from chronic pain in my neck, lower back, and primarily in my left leg from a severe knee injury in '09. I broke my Tibia, Fibula, tore my acl, pcl, and the perineal nerve. My ortho surgeon said I had a 50/50 chance of having dropfoot due to the severity of nerve damage even if the reconstructive surgery went well. Luckily that did not happen, but I did have to have a 2nd surgery about 7 months later due to unexplained pain where my pcl is located and limited movement and strength gaining. The surgery was arthoscopic and although he said he removed more scar tissue than he had ever seen(what he assumed was causing my limited motion too), he said it looked like the ligaments were healed successfully and there was nothing visibly wrong. 2 weeks later I was in a car accident and had a head on collision going about 60 mph, causing the dashboard to go right into my knee. Other than a concussion from the airbag and my neck and back hurting, the only injury I knew of was my knee instantly swelling up to the size of a melon. The doc took xrays and saw no damage, so I just had my knee drained of fluid 3 or 4 times over the next few weeks until it was normal size again and they told me I was done with them as long as I finished pt. Well I did as told, even got to where I could run a few miles after about 6 months, but now over 2 years later I have severe stiffness and aching 24/7 at my kneecap, the acute pain at my pcl never got any better, and by now is much more frequent and intense, I have numbness and sharp shooting pains at my knee and sometimes as low as my ankle and up thru my thigh, and the list goes on with at least 10 more symptoms, but those are the most prevalent. Please respond if you or anybody you know is in a similar situation, and what treatments/medications they are on. I'm tired of being told "just be glad you can walk" when I still have to deal with severe pain constantly.

My knee is swollen and very tight. There is definitely swelling behind the knee and some on the inside of the knee cap. I suspect it is a Baker's cyst and just needs to be drained. Any thoughts?

I dont know of a pain clinic in Charlotte but there is one in Pinehurst nc that is very good. They drug test alot so as long as you are clean and not buying anything off the street you should be good. they also take self referrals so you wouldn't even need a referral from a doctor

Hello I am in Charlotte also... I have all kinds of issues with my entire body...I have been with the same doctor for 5 years and have passed all panels and all random pill counts... and my mother passed away a month ago and at my last appointment my dr ask how I was going to pay my bills..Because I was paid to care of my mother..and I told her Im looking for a job as we speak but until I get one Im not sure..Well I knew that day I would be called in for a count but it didn't bother me because I do the right thing with my meds. But my uncle passed away 1 month after my mother passed and the day we buried him they called me within mins of burial for count well I was in Asheville NC and my dr. is in charlotte NC and it kind of pissed me off because she assumed I sold my pills to pay my bills... The next thing I no I get a letter in the mail dismissing me after 5 years of a perfect record. Now I have ! week and I will be out and I am stressing out.. If you don't mind would you help me out with the Dr. that you were talking about.. Im so scared for the up coming week but please help if you can and thank you so very much for your time

How far is Pinehurst from Charlotte? Do you know if they take ins.? What do they do for pain..like shots, pain meds. & what do they prescribe since some folks have a tolerance for weak pain meds. I have been on pain meds. for 8 yrs w/ a bulging disc & TMJ. Do they have a problem w/ Benzos? How long is the wait to get in this place? Anyone else near Charlotte, NC?

I just moved from VA to the charlotte nc/sc area....i was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis diverticulitis and I also have a torn disc with sciatica and degenerative disc disease....in VA I was on dilaudid for break through pain and methadone for long term pain...i really need a great primary care/pain management physician who prescribes these medications or like medications located in or around charlotte nc or fort mill sc....please help

They started the pre-authorization for everything involving medicaid if it's over a pain reliever like methadone ..I get 300 pills a month that's 10 a day which was denied and had to pay it cash outof my pocket and I don't know if the Dr is going to perscribe it to me next month but the nurse told me that, the pre authorization didn't apply for the clinic it self that's just medicaid denying there payment. But I am still looking for a doctor cash or no cash or excepting only insurance ..I know one in Utica NY that my family was in but they failed but if I go in with my new perscription that way he knows what I'm on and we can go from there my mom was on the same amount of methadones but she would get 120 oxy 10-325 and I was getting 120 Roxy 30 mg I'm getting it in N.C. and she was getting it in New York and failed if I try him even though it will take some time I know some people in there so I'll see what's up..if not I'll keep looking and paying if I have to to find anyone that is considering to see my limits and all the chronic pain that I've been going through for 11 years since a truck smashed my car I don't remember nothing of it
.it was in December 28 ,2005 and I don't remember nothing but Thanksgiving it took years for my tramatic brain injury to get a bit ok but the pain went from bad to worse. My Dr 's at first are great until they retire and then they pass me to there cousin until they retire and now I've deleted this last month with a P.A. to perscribe my meds even though he has that pre-authorization has already started and I don't know what I'm gonna face they told me that medicaid approved my 120 roxy30 mg but denying the 300 methadones 10 mg I get monthly which are the most important longer lasting the Roxy's are for break through pain but the nurse did tell me that the pre-authorization is just to in form that that isn't what there paying but when I get to the Dr next month he'll know that money isn't never a problem it's the chronic pain that I can't deal with.

Please help. My Dr just moved out of state, so after ten years of pain meds prescribed, now no one wants to help. I’m not an addict. I’ve been on the same dose for a long time. I just need to know of a dr or pain management group someone has used that is compassionate in western NC.
