My vet gave them to my 140 lb dog for pain in his joints. But it is a white elongated pill with a P on the left half and 100 on the right. He is supposed to take 1-1/2 every 12 hours as needed for pain. The vet has to check his liver every few months to be sure it isn’t causing any liver problems. ## I'm not sure but I think it may be carprofen (also known as Rimadyl). It is a NSAID commonly prescribed for veterinary use. ## It's actually prednisone. I located an oval orange/peach-ish colored pill marked P100 with an NDC: 26637-253, that also came back as Carprofen. Pill Size: 19mm Packager: Putney, Inc. NIH.gov describes this medication as a...

Novox 10mg is an Rx prescribed for my dog. ## This is the name brand Novox, generic Carprofen. It is an NSAID or non-steroidal anti-imflammatory used for things such as osteoarthritis in dogs and other animals. I could not find any side effects for it. ## I found a pill in my daughter's room. It's peach and oblong with novox on one side and 75/mg on the other. I was wondering if it could be a generic brand of Vicodin? ## It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, the FDA warns that the side effects in a canine might be similar to those in human, so it could cause nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation, which your dog might not be able to communicate, so it is best to keep a close eye on them. Child, are there any other markings on the tablet? I can't find anything ...

Peach (or light orange) colored pill with PFIZER on one side and "100 MG" on the other side. ## I can't find any tablet listed that matches this description and marking. Where was it found? Can you provide a general location? At this time, I'm suspicious that it may be a foreign medication. Learn more prescription drug details here. Does anyone else recognize this? ## Oval-shaped would be better description - 5/8" long and 3/8" wide. Found on the floor of my house here in New Jersey (across the river from Philadelphia). I tried comparing it to medicines we have here in the house and could not match it. I, also, could find nothing on it in my Internet search. ## Sounds like zeniquin (dog/cat antiobiotic) ## Oblong peach colored pill with imprint 100 | MG on one si...

Our dog was diagnosed with bone cancer and given 6 months to live. The DR. prescribed 100 mg of RIMADYL for him. [sheep dog] 9 1/2 yrs and 50 mg of Tramadol. I also take Tramadol for back pain. The DR. just said to give him 2 RIMADYL A DAY and not to specific on the TRAMADOL 1 to 3 or 4 a day. I don't want to over medicate him or under medicate him. He isn't complaining at all yet. He is like one of our kids and wan't to give him as much pain free time he has left. How do we know when to give him more or less pills as time goes on, and is their any other substitute meds that doesn't cost $80.00 dollars as rimadyl does for a months worth of pills. Thank You ## Carol, to be quite honest with you, while I am very knowledgeable on the use of medications in humans and have ac...

Just making sure this is the same meds. ## Hello, Jackie! How are you? Yes, just manufactured by a different company. My vet prescribed previcox 227 mg for my dog but the pills he gave me have bp-car 100mg printed on them. Is this the same drug or did he make a mistake ## Hello, Rick! How are you and that pup? No, they are not the same medication. Previcox contains the active ingredient Firocoxib, but the one you've been given contains Carprofen. They are both non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, but not the same. I'd suggest contacting them to double check which your dog should be taking. Is there anything else I can help with?
