Can Norco 7.5/325 And Morphine Sulfate Er 15mg Show Up As Hydromorphone

I take Norco 7.5/325mg and Morphine Sulfate 15mg E tab. When my pain management doctor has given me a urine drug test, it has shown up as Hydromorphone/Dilaudid. Is it possible when the two are taken at the same time it might show up as Hydromorphone/Dilaudid in the urine drug test since the two are mixed together?

It is actually probably due to the test itself. The cheaper, non-certified tests that most doctors use are known to give false positives anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time.

Semi-synthetic and synthetic opiates are well know to give false positives on them for other synthetic or semi-synthetic opiates.

Hydrocodone (Norco, Vicodin, etc.) is metabolized by the liver and changed into hydromorphone. Dilaudid is the generic form of hydromorphone.

So a test that shows positive for hydromorphone does not mean you have ingested Dilaudid. Your doctor should know this. If he does not, you should find a better one.

It could give you a false positive for Diluadid. My last pain management doctor would give all of his patients a UA every 3 to 6 months. He tested more for making sure that I was taking my medication and not selling it. And to make sure I wasn't mixing it with street drugs. The main thing you have to watch out for is taking too much before you go to your check up appointment and DO NOT get ANY pain pills filled from another doctor. I had a couple root canals done and my dentist gave me a script for 10 Tylox. My pain doctor got a notice about it and almost dropped me from treatment.

Yes hydrocodone does metabolize in the liver as hydromorphone definatly

I recently had shoulder surgery was given dilaudid 15 2x daily and hydromorphone 2mg every 6 hours i stopped taking my 10mg norco they didnt tell me to i did im wondering should i have kept taking them or is there another option because i get very little relief from them i had torn rotater and bone spur removal and calcification filed down what is the best advice you can give me
