Call Purdue Pharma About New Oxycontin 80mg Op (Page 6)

Updated

This is the number to Purdue when calling select Opt # 2 and explain the adverse reaction that you are having from the new reformulated Oxycontin. The number is 888-726-7535. If the new type is working for you then great. I and several people I spoke with said it gets stuck in your throat even with food. Plus it does not last 12 hour. I understand why they re-made it kids should not take it and as far as how people take it snort, inject or chew its their business. Nobody should tell another ADULT how to live his or her life. It sucks to live in pain it really does. Good Luck All

they do have generics but just letting you know its all whhat was left in stock in warehouses, before purdue pulled them they sent out alot of them under 3 different generic names, activis, ethec and ativex or something i think, walmart aand walgreens had them i know but they are steadily going away and when theyre gone its for good, not to bust your bubble but ive gotten em the last 8 months and theyre running out cause now i cant find them and i know this is fact, canada and europe didnt approve the new formula so thats the only places you can get them for sure.

WarWalker - do you think Brucy Baby finally got it? Between you and I he better run if you and I find him huh? But of course that won't happen but I am like you, I came here to find if someone, anyone could set me on a course for some relief. That hasn't happen yet and I don't believe it will. Thanks for your support and putting Brucy Baby in his place.

I have not been back here in a month or so; a thank you to those who understand or are open-minded & actually provide usable info. The 'generic' form of Oxy, when it came out several years back gave me and I gather many others adverse reactions-enough so they yanked it completely. As this new formula infiltrates the US-the information that the Suits, test-tube twiddlers and reps are really hungry for (IMO) -- is being oh-so-coyly bourne out on the shoulders of the general public; be they in dire need of true pain relief or abusers in various forms.
Apologies to the young lady who has S4 cancer; I am glad you are getting good results-I am tempted to call 'bulls**t!' on your "9 yr study, etc..." info. Look, I would like to make it clear that I don't judge what people do with their drugs-people are gonna take it because they need it and people get "high" from it - this won't change and I am not judging anyone , I don't know their situations, etc....
I do know this; for those of us who were using it for true chronic pain - when we feel "backed into a corner, bruised, bloodied and sicker at the hands of this change"-it's like fight or flight-and as the pain increases
we want to 'defend' our stance of non-abuse~~because we FEEL as if we are under the sights of the abuser's MO gun. Our proclaimations of non-abuse only raise the eyebrows of Drs., pharmacists, even loved ones.....Why? Because they sound exactly like the ones that abusers are giving
to get 'the old ones back' etc... here is a basic human truth-ALL change is met with resistance..good or bad. Comes a time when we adapt, accept or move on.

The problem as I see it is that Purdue is using the public at large to obtain the DATA that should have been obtained through clinical trials. A P.Pharma rep was slinking around my Dr's complex...I heard the guy, "got anyone on Oxy that is complaining? Getting sick, saying it does not work as well?" My doc is a goodun and sent him away with tail tucked~I could hear his ass on the way out, "tell them to call the 800 line and let us know all". Please excuse the reference-I know the horrors were so great........though the nazi's used to get their info by experimenting on people, too. To me, same technique, milder form, yet still has wrought much devestation and pain.

To the several who suggested -Opana +oxy IR's are doing the trick for me. To wtarin1~kid, it seems like you have anger and resentment that transend this topic. Stop hanging here looking for your answer. Think about this. Would be glad to somehow discuss w/you in another forum~I am a counselor and a warrior(on several fronts) ~but I have to realize I can't take on every issue with the same gear and weapons-ya know? Trust me, I believe your fight is elsewhere. God speed, babe.

all I can say to you is you must not have real pain. I have never sold or abused them in the 7 years I've taken them. Sorry but you are wrong, you are the one abusing them.

@"IN PAIN"~Kindly please indicate to who/whom your post is directed at? Big accusations that without reasoning of some sort to 'back them up' amounts to nothing more than a baseless opinion. Many here have taken Oxycontin for 10 + years; some for pain control, some for other reasons. The major common 'factor' , regardless of intent seems to be that many experience negative side-effects, on up to that "it does not work as well", etc.... so, what is you're point, exactly? Thanks.

Warwalker - You have confused me? Anger/resentment misguided? I would be more than willing to speak with you somewhere else than here. Thank you for your kind words but I just am lost as to what you mean. Let me know somehow and I would be more than willing to speak with you.

Wtarin1~I just rec'd a 'reply' notice today; I'm not so sure that they sometimes may go under other headings. Thank You for the kind words and I do believe that some have shared more openly here so an understanding of 'bits of a lifetime' can be placed together. As we discussed, I have worn many 'hats' during what to many I imagine seems a chaotic & relatively short walk on this earth-my "name" for me reminds me I have done and seen things I'd not imagined on many fronts; with others strength and skill they saw I could learn that there were always people 'hurting' & counseled when I thought life was over for me~a struggle, every f'in day.
Please! Don't let my statements confuse you; you indicated your willingness and these things need to be addressed to get rid of the pain and resentment you , me, all of us carry to some degree. Not fun. I will dialog w/ you if we or another poster can help us to find a 'secure' more private forum. Now some will 'put this down'-this is not for here etc..... Well, believe me, help is where you find it! For those few gtfo's-It is what it is. move on. Any realistic suggestions would be appreciated~I lack computer savvy.
W1, Look back and see how 'unhinged' I was when going off of the glue-nuggets ( oops! sorry, new oxy) and finding something else. If you're able ( remember, not fun) look back and see how easily you put your anger onto another. This can be dealt with and understood for anyone who wants it bad enough! Must go 4 now, I broke my wrist on Sun. and get a nice cast today. Down 2 one numb arm! Karma must be a ...... Joy.
Luv to you, WW
p.s. Dawn A.-Do you have a local MS support group? check to see what is helping-only if U can talk to individuals- Not 'staff' (in general, till U know them), Opana is helping me well.

WarWalker - Broke your wrist huh? There goes your golf game! I would so like to be able to communiciate with you other than here, maybe we can get the moderator let us exchange e-mail address'? I believe we have a lot in common and just the thought that someone else is experiencing the same things, not with just the f***ing oxy's. That is my life now and that will not change. But you can't believe the relief of hearing what others have said on this subject. I knew then I wasn't a nut case! Take care my friend!

I have been getting the new formula op's for past 3 month's. The first 2 month's all seemed well but with third 4th and 5th month's on them i have bad headaches dizziness, and i am not getting any pain relief. It feel's like what i am taking is sugar pill's. Also my heart has been doing crazy thing's. ( i do not have heart problem's) Does anyone else have visual trouble/ My vision is blurry. I read that purdue and the FDA KNEW THAT THE NEW FORMULA WOULD NOT WORK AND IT WOULD CAUSE PROBLEMS!! WHY?!!U

If it is true purdue and the FDA knew the many problem's ccp would have with the new formula..why..why did they do what they did? Is this new formula going to give us ccp new illnesses from op to cope with? How could they do such a thing to the weakest..sickest of our society? I know my body and every nuance concerning it..and i can absolutely say..the new formula oxycontin IS NOT oxycontin. What horror have those at Purdue and Fda unleashed on us? And why? It's been 5 month's i have been on these and i feel horrible.

What is frightening is that more than 700,000 pain patient's have had adverse side effect's from the new op's. Where are the doctor's..the FDA..those who at one time protected us from deadly drugs. I am seeing such indifference from everyone. Where is the responsibilty from those we must trust? 2 days ago i took my water pills..normally after taking them i must often use bathroom..it's as if i didn't take them..my other med's are not working as well.Bloodsugar..blood pressure has skyrocketed.I did not have bad side effects the first 2 or 3 month's in taking them. However my last couple of refills..it's as if they just stopped working! Everything has stopped working. My concern is..can op's adhere to mucosa in stomach and intestines?

mimi3 - Sorry to hear you were in the hospital so many times in such a short period of time. I was in the hospital for an "overnight" stay. They said I had a stroke. And while I was there, guess what? I got the oc's too!!!! This month, I filled my script and guess what again? got the oc's! Now where the f*** did they come from if they have stopped making them? I won't be in pain this month but what about next month. We are being played like a fine fiddle. I (we) have no idea what is in these op's but I can tell you it's not good. There will be a class action suit for our families. Because we will have met our maker. Do I sound mad? Yep, I am!!! And there is NOTHING we can do about it. And the op's still don't work. PS-WarWalker, where have you been, given up on us? Just wondering.

Hey you, W1~kiddin' me? U know by now I get into a scrap like this $hit & have been in some horrific ones, I will not give in until I'm sent to another plane by a power greater than us all. I get a mail alert if you post. I am sorry for your trouble and 'mimi' as well. Will U be OK? Hope so. I don't know UR age (would not ask a Lady,anyway)-U spoke of a daughter, though many have kids grown and are still 'young'--it's the 21st century-if you are 50 <, you are still young. Regardless, Drs kept telling me I was or had 'strokes' at 38. It was a brain problem, if they would have diagnosed in timely manner, I maybe could have treat, and not be where I am now. You know the story, I told them what I thought-"You have MD after you're name?"- maybe I should; those must have stood for 'maniacal dilrod'.

I truthfully (believe me, I researched and asked relatives who were nurses) don't think that hospitals are getting 'the real deal'- the truth they don't want to admit is they still have it on hand and did not follow the 'expiration date" policy. I did state I finally found a good team of Dr. that don't BS or sugarcoat - this is not rule of course for many meds, but the X date on oxy is like a 'suggestion'-my internist said they if stored properly, would still be as good as day 1, 10yrs from that date. Hospitals know which lose/go bad etc... and cut costs by keeping long-lasting ones on hand. Bet they did not show you the bottle, eh?
Anywho-hope y'all will be OK; I'm just pushing on day by day. I'm very sad about the loss of 30 of our finest and pissed at our president, if that's what you want to call him. PS- the post B4 yours really concerns me- you know-what is that crappy glue doing to people long-term? Scary. Please see if you can try Opana- it is kicking ass for me. Miss ya, God speed. ;']

WarWalker - Hurray, you are still with us (me anyway) I'm 60 years old and I don't mean young. I don't mind telling people my age.You are what you are. I'm fine. No side effects of my so called stroke. And "no" I wasn't shown the bottle, like you said "who knows" these days. I voted for Obama and so regret it. But please keep in touch my friend! Even if it has to be here with the same old stories and the same old ways of getting the coatings off. I pissed off my doc. when I called Purdue and they brought him up in front of the board. He fills my scripts and leaves me alone. I'm not gonna rock the boat right now but will discuss opana with him when I get a chance.You take care too, you are the only one I feel comfortable with speaking about this s*** they are feeding us :>}
