This is the number to Purdue when calling select Opt # 2 and explain the adverse reaction that you are having from the new reformulated Oxycontin. The number is 888-726-7535. If the new type is working for you then great. I and several people I spoke with said it gets stuck in your throat even with food. Plus it does not last 12 hour. I understand why they re-made it kids should not take it and as far as how people take it snort, inject or chew its their business. Nobody should tell another ADULT how to live his or her life. This is total BS. I freaking hate Purdue for what they've done to people by switching to this ridiculous medication that nowhere near resembles the former Oxycontin. Freaking crooks. I HATE the new OP's, and will never EVER take one again. I have also started to ensure that I only buy from any manufacturer other than Purdue. Horrible side effects, and doesn't work at all for pain. WTF???

I was in a rear in high speed collision almost 2 years ago. Due to someoneelses stupidity I had 4 bulging disks in my neck and 4 in my back. It took me constantly complaing for 5 months about the non stop unbearable pain in my head for one doctor to listen to me and send me for an MRI of my neck to find out that I had those bulging disk in my neck thus causing all of this debilitating pain. I have always had excellent blood pressure for my age ( 36 at the time) readings usually around 100/60 - 110/70. After the accident 160/110 and 3 medications that did not control it and made me very sick and tons of side effects. Blood tests that showed that I had a consistantly high heart rate also a new occurance after the accident. That day it was 134 bpm. I thank GOD that I had a doctor brave enough to challenge medical the science community.He admitted me into he hospital for pain management. In which I am on a regimine of 120 mg of Oxycontin a day, 100 mg Lyrica, 10 mgs of Elavil, 8 mgs Vallium,800 mgs of Celebrex just to help me cope with the pain. I am not pain free. But no other medication that the tried before the Oxycontin's gave me any significant pain relief in comparison to the Oxycontin. not to mention that my blood pressurereturned to normal. My doctor told me that if my pain had not have been checked it would have killed me becaude of the stress that it had put on my body. This new medication does not work like the old one I am almost back to where I was before my pain was controlled. It is very easy for people who do not live with chronic pain to judge those who do. Being in extreme pain 24 hours a day 7 days a week is the most horrible thing that I have ever had to deal with. It is like my other dying again every minute of every day and I am forced to deal with the pain in my body. For all of those judgemental people out there; If you had to live with chronic pain you would not be so quick to judge. If the source of pain cannot be treated or remove the only humane thing to do is a really good pain killer which oxycontin is. They did not make this drug for me. I am not the only person dealing with this type of incurable pain from damaged nerves. I will not be affected by the misconceptions of those who have never walked a block in my shoes.

Now that I have said all of that i ask the Pharmeceutical company to listen to the chronic pain sufferers as if we were your mother, father, sons, or daughters. You have the ability to help us, please do so. Chronic pain is horrible. It makes us impossible to live with. My family dynamics have been turned upside down because my family cant deal with how I have become due to my pain. It is horrible. that pill doesn't solve it, but it sure make is a whole lot better. Help chronic pain suffers by bringing the old formula back.

Dear Mimi3 - I hope you see my reply. Yes I too had these same problems and they had been notified about them YEARS ago. Yes I have a HORRIBLE rash that uncontrollably itched.. it just raged! I got it on the arches of both feet, the palms of my hands and on both ears. Also I had reflux and GERD which was TORTURE! These is a lot written about what is in this medication. Its original name is Remoxy. I wish there were some clue left in your e-mail for how I could write to you directly. I could tell you a lot more. I understand that Purdue and FDA created OP to get all the junkies out there to get off of this s**t, but what it really comes down to is if you have an addiction you are going to find one way or another to get high, whether its from something else or another opiate. OP was one of the most unrealiable things made, it does not help with pain, its making people out there suffer who were actually using the OC the right way, and the junkies that were using OC are now either on heroin or dead. Purdue and FDA should really step back and see that Op is not making a profit since insurance companies don't want it since its to expensive, its making people with pain unfunctional, and its making the junkies out there worse, or dead. The best thing they could do would bring the OC back just think about it Oc is better off in many ways then this junk OP.

I called in my script for the month and I received a call back that I needed to see my Doc ASAP. Well I saw him yesterday and sure as God made little green apples, it was in regard about my oxy's. I take 3 60's daily. I have posted before about the inability about how limited I am, that I cannot use Vicodin etc. I had to sign a new contract about the selling, using etc. about this drug. He told me he got a call from the FDA about subscribing any opiates. So the doc's now are in the hot seat but the f***ing new oxy's still don't work. And I am still in pain. They certainly don't do the job like the old oxy's. I also read how the junkies have already found a way to snort or shoot thiese things. I certainly won't do that. So Purdu went to all this effort to control these meds and all for nothing except to punish us that really need them. I am so angry I could scream!

I HAVE BEEN TAKEING THE 40 MG TABLETS OF THE ONES MARKED OC FOR TEN YEARS DUE TO A NUMBER OF HERNIATED DISKS AND LUMBAR TO SPINE NARROWING NOW SINCE THEY CHANGED THE DRUG IT HAS BEEN GIVEING ME HEADACHES STOMACH CRAMPS AND TO TOP IT ALL OF IM NOT GETTING THE PAIN RELIEF I USE TO GET FROM THE MEDICINE THEY HAVE REALLY MESSED UP THE STRENGTH OF IT IM BEGINING TO BELIEVE THAT THEY DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE STRENGTH OF EACH OF T5HE PILLS THEY ARE PUTTING OUT OR WHAT EVER IS IN THEM IS DOING HARM TO ALL OF US PEOPLE THAT NEED THEM TO GET BY IN OUR DAILY LIFES TO NOT LIVE WITHOUT AS MUCH PAIN ITS A SHAME THEY REALLY NEED TO PUT THIS DRUG BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS AND NOT TAKE IT OUT ON US PEOPLE THAT DO NOT ABUSE IT AND TO GIVE US BACK THE PAIN RELIEFE WE HAD TO GET THROUGH OUR DAILY LIFES ALL I KNOW ITS A SHAME THEY DID THIS AND HOW MANY OF US HAS EFFECTED

Generic Oxycontin -
Purdue sold the old formula to a company called ETHEX, they are identical to the old formula, I can not take the new formula, allergic reactions included numbness in my lips, my bottom teeth hurt so bad..OMG.. and in my stool I would notice fragments of what I assume were the 80s OP. I have been getting the 80 OC now for 4 months. Smaller pharmacys WILL NOT CARRY Them, (because there is no profit) Wallgreens and CVS can get them. My original OP formula was $35 for 90 pills, the generic cost is only $8 bucks. Its only logical that PURDUE leased the old OC formula to this company and PURUDE is getting a % of sales, it would be a fatal move to totally do away with the old formula, The only made this new OP formula to appease the FDA.

I have taken the NEW oxycontin, this is the 3rd month. IT DOES NOT WORK THE SAME. I WANT MY LIFE BACK. I HAVE 6 GRANDCHILDREN THAT I USE TO BE ABLE TO PLAY WITH UNTIL THEY CHANGED THE MEDICINE THAT I AM PROUBALLY GOING TO HAVE TO BE ON THE REST OF MY LIFE. IT GIVES ME HEAD ACHS, DOES NOT WORK FOR MY PAIN, IT MAKES ME SICK AND I CAN NOT DO ANY OF THE THING'S I USE TO BE ABLE TO DO BEFORE THEY CHANGED IT. I to have the same problems with the op's so i don't take them.......I tell the pharmasist my insurance will only pay for generacs, i have had very little problem getting them for the last 4 months since the nightmare started for me. I only deal with walgreens, sometimes have to go to 2 or 3 stores to find them but it is well worth it. they give OC's, they are exactally like the old ones i have been getting for 5 years. I believe you have to do what is best for you, to hell with thoes who look at us like we are junkies, i hold my head high and tell them if they have a problem to call my Dr..email me at att with this name

I have been posting here since the NEW op's have been on the market. PLEASE.PLEASE,PLEASE CALL PURDUE!!! That is our only chance that they will bring back the old oc's.Be prepared because they will give you the old song and dance but be digilent! I have called three times and will continue to call. BUT CALL AND CALL AND CALL. Just maybe they will get it. Just like you all, I am now in constant pain.

I understand why the oxy's were revised. However, I took my as directed but I'm sorry to say that in order to get the pain relief that I required I had to go to the 80mg vs. the 40 that I had beed on for years. It takes that much more drug to even come remotely close to the OC brand. Not only that it makes me feel weird and sometimes sick to my stomach. I really think that those of us who really have a need for the OC vs. the new OP should be allowed the option to choose which one we want. Our physician will trust our opionion enough to let us decide which product we are more comfortable with. Please Purdue dont deny your legitimate users the opportunity to have a choice in which product works and which one we are willing to pay all that money to get. Thanks

I am scared to take my next dose. I have been vomiting since I took the new OP's 6 hours ago. What did you put in the new meds. I have been taking 80mlg. cr for years. Why did you change??? Didn't you make enough money off the good batch! I am so angry. You stopped them from selling the generic oxycontin. and Now you have messed up the Original oxycontin.80mg.CR. How could you do this? What kind of people work for Purdue! Who made this decision to hurt the people who need it most! You change the meds to make more money. That is the only reason. You are using cheap ingredients. That is why people are getting sick! Trust me when the lawyers start working you will regret this. Trust me.

I HAVE BEEN ON OXY 80 MG. 3 TO 4 X A DAY FOR 10 YEARS,,THE NEW OP PILLS ARE HORRIBLE,I CALLED PURDUE,,TOLD THEM I HAD DIGESTION PROBLEMS ANYWAY,,AND THESE DID NOT WORK, AND WERE VERY HARD TO DIGEST,,THEY WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!! It is too bad that people who abused this drug made us that need it suffer! I found the generic OC pill in walgreens for one month, they only have the OP now,,what are we going to do?

walgreens does not carry it anymore,,I need help! Purdue should be sued by the people who really need the old ones,,and that did NOT abuse them,,now my life is a wreck,,my doctor will probably cut me off because I ran out of the OP's too soon because they did not work,and after being on them for 10 years,,where am I going to find a doctor to even give them to me now?? thanks for nothing purdue,,I DID CALL THEM--they could care less!

Well it finally happened. I just got a letter from Purdue saying that I didn't give them the lot number for my oxycontin so they have closed my case!! How am I to know the lot number? Or to send them my pills!! I can't do that, then I will be short and my Doctor is gonna ask why. I tried calling but they were closed, so I will call tomorrow. PLEASE PEOPLE, CALL, CALL. CALL

I was getting the GOOD generic OC's at walgreens, but when I filled my script this month, they told me that they no longer had them,,the generic was getting re-formulated,,so I got stuck with more OP's,,and now hurt, am sick to my stomach,,,etc. I HAVE called Purdue,,talked to them for over an hour,,just to hear that there is nothing they can do about it!! I even got desperate enough to try to get oc's online,,got ripped off a few times,,so quit trying to do that!! NOW WHAT? those were only available through walgreens or cvs. where I live there is only one walgreens and no cvs,,,,but when I got my script this month, walgreens told me they no longer have the generic,,the company is re-formulating them,,and that is that!!
