Have you talked to your dr? Maybe he has some suggestions.

I tried this recently because my insurance wouldn't pay for Nuvigil. I had horrible side effects. It was given to me because of lethargy from extreme depression. I felt like I had flu-like symptoms, stomach pain, headache and went right to bed until it was out of my system. Nuvigil is nasty as well but less symptoms.

I'm a 56 year old woman who has had ADHD since I was a kid. I have been taking Watson Concerta 36 mg, now methylphenidate er, for 11 1/2 years. They were white round little tube shape tablets with a dimple on one end. They are marked ALZA 36.
I had great success with them. No side effects at all.

On Sunday, I picked up my prescription and the pharmacy substituted a new generic brand: Mallinckrodt. Long, flat greyish tablets that are marked M 36.

I took the first one on Monday, and began to have stomach pain an hour later. I was like a zombie, too. I tried taking it again on Tuesday with food, and the stomach pain got worse. I quit taking them and am going to see the doc tomorrow to see what's wrong with my stomach.

If I can't get the Watson (white with Alza 36), I won't take anything.

Hi, I'm on adderall but, thousands of us have complained for along time about certain awful generics made by actavis, mallinkrodt, core pharma & aurabidino, some may be slightly off on the spelling but, I encountered a similar situation when I was on Ritalin. Now, I'm telling you this because, Concerta generics are being questioned, tested & may be recalled according to the actual FDA government website! Nice, of them to tell us, right?! So, while I pay $279 for the brand name until they take us seriously, I at least wanted to help those of you who may be experiencing problems unusual to this medication. Good Luck and God Bless.....

I was diagnosed with ADD as a child, then it transitioned to ADHD in my early 20's. I am constantly physically restless if I don't do a certain cardio every day. I am now 37, with 2 very young children and quite sleep deprived (3yrs and 1 year). I take 54 mg of Concerta. It does help with my focus and restlessness and impulsiveness, but I am constantly feeling wired unless I mindfully force myself to relax. Also, because the medication decreases appetite, I often completely forget to eat during a good bulk of the day, and while I am with my boys and working by 5pm I often feel like an invalid and completely physically and mentally washed out person. Any suggestions?
