I am currently taking Chertusiin AC syrup for extreme coughing due to a bad case of bronchitis. I have not had a good nights sleep for the past 3 nights since the coughing worsens at night. There are no other cough medications that seems to work. This is helping.

I was prescribed this for allergies and persistent dry cough. Dosage = 1 teaspoon (5ml), bur it does not work at this dosage, so I take 2. Any one else have this experience?

Cyndi, yes. I was prescribed this for sever cough/cold. Was told to take 1-2 teaspoons every 4 hours but I have had to take 4 teaspoons every 4 hours to start to get relief. I'm going to call the doctor for a stronger dose or something else. It works, just in higher doses for me.

I have had been subscribed Cheratussin AC Syrup back in 02/21/08. From time to time i ocassionally get a chest cold and still have the bottle in my posesion and would use this couph syrup so i can sleep better at night. I am in search for work and found a job with better opportunities, during several interviews, finally i was hired and was asked to take a drug test. With no hessitation i quickly went to take the exam. Before the test I was having a chest cold and decided to take the couph syrup prescribed by my doctor back in February of this year, be in mind that i did not realize that the prescribed medication named Cheratussin AC syrup contains codeine, later the same week i get a call from the lab stating that I showed up possitive on my drug test and they asked if i have taken any medication? I quickly stated that yes the night before I took a couph syrup prescribed to me back in February 2008 and had given them the doctors name and prescription number and the pharmacy where i got my medication. I though no big deal. My question is.. Why would this medication show up positive on a drug test and what would be the procedures of a company who is hiring a new employee. Someone please help?

I was recently given Cheratussin AC for cough. On the side of the bottle, It says that the syrup is available without a prescription and the medicine was manufactured in the state I live in. I thought it was a sample or something but then I looked it up and it has codeine in it. Surely this stuff isn't available over the counter, is it??

I've taken it 2xs now & have sharp/severe pain in my stomach & also my bck???? I've had tuxxinex (sp?) b4 with broncitis & that didn't do this crap! Even the grapey tasting syrup doesn't do it either. While I've found grape syrup not as great on cough but the thick fruity tasting tuxxinex is good (just abit stronger when I took 1st time I was cocky about it thought it couldn't be that strong..umm wrong!! Kicked my butt! It did wrk though!
Has any1 else had such a pain stomach or back when u took this Chertussin AC?? If so please post...thanks.

I was given the CHERATUSSIN AC SYRUP to control my cough and help me sleep. The dosage was 5cc and it did nothing for me at that dosage except build false hope. OTC Nyquil worked better for getting me some sleep. I'm going to try a double dosage as soon as I'm done grousing here....grrrrrr.
