Betaone Xl 50 Side Effects

Beta One Xl (50mg) is being administered for my uncontrolled high BP and palpitation like symptoms, for the past 4 months along with Telsar H. I'd like to know more about the potential side effects of these drugs.

BetaOne XL contains the active ingredient Metoprolol in a time release formulation, it is a beta blocker that is commonly used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac problems.

Its side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.


Telsar-H contains Telmisaran and Hydrochlorothiazide, it is used to treat the same types of conditions.

Side effects may include: dizziness, headache, dehydration and hyponatremia.

I am 72, diabetes type 2, suffered a stroke, and on pacemaker since 2007. Ultimately I am advised to take Telsar Beta 50, a combination of Telma 40 and Metolar 50. The doctor says it is for life long. What can the possible side effects in the long run be and what precautions do I have to take to mitigate any potential symptoms?
